Films that get you hooked right from the start to the finish is what I love to watch. Life is hard already, I don't need a film that will add to my stress.
'Special Ops: Lioness' is an amazing show that is easy to watch and gets you hooked from the start to finish because the actors are so good at what they do. The Cast and plot are the reason why I watched this show till the end and now, I want more. If you have seen 'The Night Agent, Jack Ryan' and the likes of them before, you definitely should enjoy watching this TV series.
'Special Ops: Lioness' is an action, thriller and spy drama that was created by Taylor Sheridan and produced with Paramount+. The story of this show revolves around two major stories which are that of a young woman, Joe who tries to balance her personal and professional life as a Top CIA officer and the mission of taking down a terrorist organization from within using a young marine recruit. The TV series starred Zoe Saldana, Laysla De Oliveira, Michael Kelly, Nicole Kidman, Dave Annable, Morgan Freeman, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, Austin Hébert, James Jordan, Hannah Love Lanier, Jonah Wharton, Stephanie Nur, and Thad Luckinbill.
The show introduces us to Joe, a CIA officer who is in charge of the Lioness ops team in Syria and trying to carry out a mission. Unfortunately for Joe and her team, it did not go as they planned, their undercover agent was discovered, captured and Joe ordered a missile strike to end everything once and for all. She goes back home and we are introduced to her family and brought into her personal life where she is a mother and a wife.
On the other hand, a young lady Cruz Manuelos who was running away from her abusive boyfriend was introduced into the plot of the show. A marine saved her and from there she joined the marine and became a resilient officer. Not too long, Cruz's life took a sharp turn when Joe, the leader of the Lioness ops, walks into her life and recruits her as their undercover agent to help take down a terrorist business organization from within by forming a close relationship with the daughter of the head of this business organization.
Cruz agreed to this mission and joined the Lioness ops group. As she began the mission things began to go as they planned. Cruz met Aaliyah, the daughter of the terrorist businessman in a shopping mall and there they kicked off their friendship. Will Cruz be successful with her mission? Will the organization be brought down from within?
My Review And Rating.
The plot of this TV series is decent with a convincing premise. I thought this series will be mess but my low expectations was met with high satisfaction at the end of it. I love how the plot was written with a strong foundation and fantastic ending. All the scenes were well written, the dialogues was interesting which was fully packed with dark humor and little bit of comedy. This spiced up the series in a wonderful way that kept me engaged from the beginning to the end.
The director's style of series was unique, I will give kudos in that aspect. Every scene was directed with the purpose of making it easy for audience to connect with each characters even with the recurring and guest characters. All the scenes were arranged in an excellent flow that doesn't make the viewers get tired or bored easily. The action scenes were well directed, not too, not too gory but decent.
The cast were awesome and I can say that I don't not have any complaints about any of their performances. Though I have lots of favorites characters here which I find surprising and I must say that the cast of this show were proper selected. Zoe Saldana carried her role like champ, I loved and enjoyed watching her character. I think I want to be calm and collected her. She was the spotlight of the show for me and her performance was spectacular. Nicole Kidman was an actor enjoyed seeing in this show together with Morgan Freeman and Jill Wagner (she made me laugh a lot with her mannerisms).
The resolution of this series was an example of average perfection. All lose ends were tied, it was sweet and bitter, and there was victory and loss at the same time. The ending was captured in way that it left me with a lasting expression and the feeling of wanting more. Also, the end, there was this of tension left behind for the viewers, I liked that.
The cinematography, camera work, stunts and action scenes were well done. The budget was well spent in this aspect because I love the whole setting of this show, it was all good especially all the sceneries, and location. Though right now I struggle to understand why there were a lot negative reviews about this show. I don't get it. Well everyone is entitled to the opinion but in my opinion this show is a decent action, thriller and spy drama. Hollywood didn't miss this up. I hope there will be a second season because I want more.
Rating this show, I will give it 8.9 out 10 stars. It was perfect, sane, decent and enjoyable to watch, though there were some sexually scenes (that was brilliantly and decently captured by the producers) and tons of profanity. I wouldn't recommend you watch this show with your family.
