The topic of yesterday's writing prompt from @cinetv was our most favourite trilogy.

There are several reasons why a trilogy is created. Maybe they want to tell the story of the Corleone family (Godfather I, II and III), or an empire's attempt to defeat evil (Star Wars IV, V and VI) or even a particular favorite of mine (a Greek trilogy by Theo Angelopoulos) the effects of history on the individual (Days of '36, The Travelling players and The Hunters).
Still, there are masterpieces, as @notacinephile kindly reminded us, with Kieslowski's trilogy of Colours
Sometimes, however, one film expands in three or more sequels , because of the commercial success of the first one (and about that, there are many trilogy films due to that)
But since the question was about our favorite trilogy, as always I went back to my teenage years.
Imagine the 90s and the cinema is playing a retrospective of the three films with Indiana Jones as the main character. My age of course - I was around 15 at the time - didn't allow me to spend that many hours at the cinema (my new love, see story here), but at least I sat down to watch the first film.
On screen, cuddly but charming archaeology professor Henry Jones becomes the adventurous and savvy Indiana Jones, who finds antiquities, fights bad guys, falls passionately in love and hates two things: Snakes and Nazis.

I was so impressed with the hero that I spent half my teenage years wanting to be an archaeologist like Indiana. Of course, when I got a little older, I realized that the leather jacket, fedora and whip were not the classic archaeologist's uniform. Oh and also, that during archaeological excavations there were no bad guys chasing you, but on the contrary things were very quiet, almost boring.
(My plans to become an archaeologist changed, but at least I followed the classical studies.)
However, despite my disillusionment with archaeology, I continued to fanatically watch Indiana Jones movies and be passionate about his adventures.
Although the first film, Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), had its charms because of the effect it had on me,
the second, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), made me laugh to tears at Indiana's experience with bugs,
my favorite is the third, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, which features Sean Connery (another favorite actor, don't get me started on him) as Indiana Jones' father, a great duo. The two fight with each other, claim the same woman, but together they both fight their great enemy: the Nazis.
And at last we learn all about the nickname Indiana and its origin
Another film was made in the 2000s but I can't say it had the grace of the previous three, though it certainly had better visual effects. But it lacked that innocence, that chutzpah of the first three films.
Bonus: The music of John Williams
PS. I bet you keep humming it right now, don't you?
Thanks for reading!
