Eddie Palmer is a young soccer star, one day his life changes, he goes to prison accused of attempted murder. When he gets out, he meets Sam, a seven year old son of a drug addict mother who disappears from time to time. At first Palmer doesn't understand why Sam likes princesses, but over time they develop a special bond.
Palmer is directed by Fisher Stevens, winner of the Oscar for Best Documentary (The Cove, 2010) and written by Cheryl Guerrero. It is a dramatic film, aimed at an adult audience, deals with issues of child abuse, drugs, but it is also a message for us to be authentic as human beings.

The film begins when Palmer arrives at his grandmother's house in Louisiana. He meets Sam who lives in a Caravan next to his house along with his mother Shelly who disappears with her boyfriend and leaves Sam in the care of his grandmother.
Palmer doesn't understand Sam's attitude: he wears hooks in his hair, plays with dolls and likes princesses. When the grandmother passes away Palmer and Sam begin to create a special bond of Father and son, he gets a job at the school and meets the teacher Maggie with whom he has a loving relationship.
Sam's mother returns, causing chaos in Palmer's life.

The movie keeps the pace, there is a scene that impacted me when Sam decides to go to school dressed as a Princess, he is 7 years old but he is a boy who knows what he wants, even though Palmer tells him that the world can hurt him, he breaks his ideas of gender that were instilled since he was a child and supports Sam to be happy.
What I didn't like: Palmer's story is not told in full and I would like to know more about Juno.

Lo que no me gusto: No se cuenta la historia de Palmer completa y quisiera saber más sobre Juno.
