Review

The God of Thunder was reborn in the hands of Taika Waititi with fresh packaging and content. Even in the media junket that was held in Sydney mid-month, Chris Hemsworth himself admitted that he felt like playing a completely new character. If the two previous films were still thick with the drama element-even the love story that feels a little bit-then different things are offered in Thor: Ragnarok.

Thor movie this time almost clean from the scene drama nuance serious, in addition to one or two parts only. Thor: Ragnarok, is a humor parade that hardly not breaks from beginning to end of film. Start a hilarious dialog until slapstick, in this movie. Also included are some references from other Marvel movies, even from serials outside the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This thick element of humor, making this 130 minute movie feels like a fun ride. This is still added to the scream of Robert Plant with Led Zeppelin in "Immigrant Song", which accompanies the top fight scenes in this movie. Adrenaline immediately jumped since the first guitar riff begin.

Not only the humorous side that is propagated, Taika Waititi also offers a different visualization of the two previous films. Especially the atmosphere of Planet Sakaar with frenetic and colorful ala retro era, which has a large portion in this film. The visual aspect, the old music, and the humor that is thick, may be a bit reminiscent of Marvel fans with the nuances that appear in the Guardian of the Galaxy.

Although impressed as a lightweight film, Thor: Ragnarok is a film with core content that is quite complex, related to the dynamics of the characters. The film signifies the rebirth of Thor, also the beginning of a change in the Hulk. The film also serves as a bridge for Hulk and Thor to Infinity War, after two of the Avengers superheroes are absent in Captain America: Civil War.

And Taika Waititi was quite successful in performing this task, as well as fueling the curiosity of his fans over the next Marvel movie.

RATING (9/10)
