DareDevil Season 3 Review

Review by @filotasriza3 · 2791d · of Daredevil

I just finished watching Daredevil Season 3 and i have to say it's been a while since i felt such satisfaction and fulfillment, especially when that comes after Iron Fist 2. Below i am gonna share my thoughts about season 3 and by doing that, spoilers will come out, that's why i am warning you all now, before you start swearing at me!

SPOILERS ALERT

The whole season 3 plot starts right after the incident with the Defenders in which Daredevil almost got himself killed but because the heroes never die we get to see him nearly half dead asking from a random person to get him to a Church. The church is no other than the one he grew up so he knows all the personnel here which patched him up. At the same time Fisk is in prison and the FBI is trying to gather some info from him regarding other active criminal unions and syndicates.

Daredevil after everything happened starts questioning his life meaning, his past and future, pretty much like what happens with Iron Fist season 2. He feels that he is abandon by god or even worse that there is no actual god that wants justice but soon enough with the help of the priest and the nun (that knew since he was a child), he regains his psychical and mental strength.

Fisk from the prison decides to protect his beloved Vanessa by giving names of crime syndicates to FBI and after an attempt to kill him the FBI decides to protect their assets by moving him to a hotel and guard him with 24/7 surveillance. While transporting him another attempt to kill Fisk takes place but the new star of the show agent Poindexter kill them all the bad guys and save him.

If you have watched season 1 and 2 though you will know by now that Fisk is way smarter than that and it's completely true. Since the beginning he manipulated everything in order to gain back his glory and eliminate the criminal completion out there with the help of FBI and the government. I won't get into further details cause i am gonna spoil the fun.

Now let me share my thoughts on 3 different things, Fight Scenes, Pace and the Acting and i will also give a proper conclusion.

Fight Scenes

The fight scenes were literally amazing and awesome. Not only we had the opportunity to watch many and different fight scenes but also those were not one sided. To be more specific we have fight scenes between daredevil and thugs, close to him people, prisoners, armed guards, FBI, Agent Dex, Fix and you could actually tell if he could win or not.

It wasn't just a punch and we are over, even when fighting thugs they sometimes hurt him badly, showing the more human side of our hero. He can just hear and smell extremely well, his body is that of human so he can feel pain and his punches don't have that much of an impact if you compare him with the bulletproof Luke Cage or some other superheros.

On the other hand if you wanna see fight scenes that lead to deaths agent Dex is your guy and his way of fighting was spectacular and very skillful. Possibly because he is one of Daredevil's Nemesis and a pretty well known villain called Bullseye

Acting

Ahh the acting! Pretty marvelous and fantastic and each one of the actors for me was perfect in his role. We already knew how good Daredevil, Page and Foggy were and we also knew what a star Fisk is. The surprise but in a good way for me was Agent Dex who leveled up the show even more! I should also say that the actor who plays Fisk is simply amazing. Till now he is the best Fisk that ever came and i won't hide it but i liked Fisk the villain more that Daredevil the hero :P (is something wrong with me?)

Pace

The pace of those 13 episodes was spectacular. We get to see what every character is doing/planning in the same episode and at the same time the story is progressing. In order to get more attached with some characters we get to see some flashbacks of their older times and understand better that person and his/her actions. All of these don't interfere with the fight scenes at all, in contrary they help make the fight scenes even better and in no way it's becoming dull or boring.

Conclusion

After the cancelling of Luke Cage and Iron fist, Daredevil made us all proud and showed us that actual good superhero shows still exist. In every aspect for me it was perfect and made me again have that feeling of satisfaction after i finished the seasons. If i could give a rating and i will, i could say that it deserves an 8.8-9/10

Season 3 was a revelation! Bullseye was definitely worth the wait! He was able to go toe-to-toe with Daredevil, and he was just so compelling. It was a return to form for Kingpin as well. This just goes to show how deep a TV show can go as opposed to a film. We could never be as invested about this story if it was only two hours long.
