Today I bring you a movie that came out this month (which is just starting), I saw it last night and I'm already writing about it:

Mis queridos #Hivecinefilos, espero se encuentren muy bien y disfruten de esta reseña que la Vi anoche y no me aguantaba escribir todas estas ideas. Hoy les traigo una película que salió este mes (que apenas comienza), la ví anoche y ya estoy escribiendo sobre ella: El asedio de Silverton.

Among the things I liked most about the film are (no spoilers):

🎬Based on real events. A historical fact that happened and is part of our history.

🎬 The length is according to the plot, i.e. always super entertaining.

🎬 The treatment of the period: costumes, scenery, the cars! They fascinated me, very well worked.

🎬 I particularly like this kind of movies because despite having blood and guns, it doesn't deviate from the main plot.

🎬 The story that is woven around it and that evidences the division and even justification of this movement.

Particularly, I love this kind of films because they teach me a little more about things that happen in the world and we should not forget.

🎬Basada en hecho reales. Un hecho histórico que ocurrió y es parte de nuestra historia. 🎬 La duración está acordé a la trama, es decir, súper entretenida siempre. 🎬 El tratamiento de la época: vestuario, escenario, ¡Los carros! Me fascinaron, muy bien trabajados. 🎬 Particularmente me gusta este tipo de películas porque a pesar de tener sangre y pistolas, no se desvía de la trama principal. 🎬 Las historia que se tejen alrededor y que evidencia la división y hasta justificación de este movimiento.

Particularmente, amo este tipo de películas porque me enseñan un poco más de cosas que pasan en el mundo y no debemos olvidar.

🎟️ Sipnosis (without spoiler again): based on real events, a group of rebels, from the group " Umkhonto weSizwe (MK)" that was against the segregationist measures imposed in South Africa by the "apartheid", were dedicated to sabotage certain strategic points with the aim of ending this inequality.

One day, they plan to attack a petrol base (depot), when they discover that it has been a trap. In their escape, finding themselves cornered, they enter a bank and kidnap all the people who were there.

🎟️ Nombre: El asedio de Silverton. 🎟️ Año: 2022. 🎟️Plataforma: Netflix. 🎟️Género: drama, acción, documental. 🎟️Duración: 100 minutos. 🎟️ Sipnosis (sin espoiler nuevamente): basado en hechos reales, un grupo de rebeldes, del grupo " Umkhonto weSizwe (MK)" que estaba en contra de las medidas segregacionales impuestas en Sudáfrica por el "apartheid", se dedicaban a sabotear ciertos puntos estratégicos con la finalidad de acabar con esta desigualdad. Un día, planifican atacar una base (depósito) de gasolina, cuando descubren que ha sido una trampa. En su huida, al verse acorralados, entran a un banco y secuestran a todas las personas que estaban allí.

My dear film lovers, believe me I am still outraged at society for allowing this kind of thing to happen; and when I say I am outraged, then it means that the film did mark an important reflection in me. Here are a few observations and things I want to comment on (without spoilers, again, I'll make it clear):

Racial segregation.

In my country we are very blessed; we for being a mixture of everything that happened around the time of the colony, "the discovery", and all the migratory movements that have happened and continue to happen, I don't remember the first time that a black person has been limited by that "for being black".

All our families have their black, their white, and even I have Asian features and it has always been an advantage to start a conversation.

It didn't happen that way there. In South Africa in the 1980s and for several decades before that, a white movement was installed in a black country. This movement was not so much about settling in, stealing their roots, traditions, spaces, stealing their essence, but it marked big differences in society, discriminating against people on the basis of their skin colour.

Blackness, blackened, dark, dark, were some of the adjectives used in the film. Besides, their daily life was limited to the use of certain seats, queues at banks, money, power, that is to say, blacks themselves were strangers in their own land.

This went on for years and it is incredible that in the 21st century, these beliefs are still alive and well among the most radical people.

This panorama was the central plot of "being black", the sin of being born with a different colour, the indignation of denying yourself what you are, what you are, how do you take away your skin colour? How do you deny it? Truly, our society is wrong, very wrong, and it is always the most innocent who pay the price.

I can't imagine the anger, frustration, indignation and anger that these people had, these young people who knew no other way of life but from the marginalisation of their lives, their parents and their children. This type of situation, where the world was silent in the face of so much injustice, led them to take action to change this political system, to continue to fight for equality in their country.

Mis queridos amantes de las películas, créanme que aún estoy indignada con la sociedad por permitir que pasen este tipo de cosas; y cuando digo que estoy indignada, entonces quiere decir que la película si marcó una importante reflexión en mí. Aquí les cuento varias apreciaciones y cosas que quiero comentar (Sin hacer spoiler, nuevamente lo aclaro):

Segregación racial.
En mi país somos muy bendecidos; nosotros por ser una mezcla de todo lo que pasó por allá por la época de la colonia, "el descubrimiento", y todos los movimientos migratorios que han sucedido y siguen sucediendo, no recuerdo la primera vez que unnegro haya sido limitado por eso "por ser negro". Todas nuestras familias tiene su negro, su blanco, e incluso, yo tengo rasgos asiaticos y más bien, siempre ha sido hasta una ventaja para iniciar una conversación.

Allí no pasó así. En la Sudáfrica de 1980 y por varias décadas anteriores, se instalo un movimiento de blancos en un país de negros ¡Válgame Dios! Este movimiento, no fue tanto por instalarse, robando sus raíces, tradiciones, espacios, robando su esencia, sino que marcó grandes diferencias entre la sociedad, discriminando a las personas por su color de piel.
Negrura, ennegrecidos, oscuros, eran unos de los adjetivos que se cuelgan en la película. Aparte, su cotidianidad, su vida, estaba limitada a usar ciertos asientos, las colas en los bancos, el dinero, el poder, es decir, los propios negros, eran ajenos en su propia tierra.

Esto se mantuvo por años y es increíble que en pleno siglo XXI, están tan vivas estás creencias entre los más radicales.
Este panorama, fue la trama central de "ser negro", el pecado de nacer con un color diferente, la indignación de negarse lo que es, lo que eres ¿Cómo te quitas el color de piel? ¿Cómo lo niegas? De verdad que nuestra sociedad está mal, muy mal y siempre pagan los más inocentes. No me quiero imaginar la rabia, frustración, indignación e irá que tenían estás personas, estos jóvenes que no conocían otra forma de vida sino desde la marginación de sus vidas, padres y de sus hijos. Este tipo de situaciones, dónde el mundo callaba ante tanta injusticia, llevaron a tomar acciones para cambiar este sistema político, a seguir apostando por la igualdad en su país.

Based on real events

It annoys me when someone says things like "but in the film she's fat and she was skinny", it makes me want to give her a pass to a psychologist or psychiatrist. It's a film! What do you expect? At least they should change the name of the main character, otherwise the director and his whole team are just for show. If you want the facts as they are, then watch a documentary or a biography and you won't be disappointed.

For me, the film was very well framed in the main event; a movement that was created to oppose apartheid and when they are discovered, they flee and get into a bank where they create a hostage situation.

This leads to the propagation of the message "Free Mandela". I don't think I have to explain who this man is, but he was the greatest fighter for the equality of his people, until he became president, putting an end to this division (at least politically).

Also, another thing I liked was that the plot didn't deviate. Whether the protagonist fell in love with the heroine or 50 bullets didn't even scratch him.

It also deals with themes such as loyalty and betrayal. When we lie, we have to sustain the lie, i.e. we have to have a long memory in order not to forget details of the lie.

In this sense, when we are loyal to our principles and beliefs, nothing and no one can shake our faith. And they believed in freedom, in equality, in their ideals, in their commitment to their families and close ones; unfortunately, not everyone is willing to lose material and immaterial things for nothing, or for others. A subject for much reflection and care.

Basada en hechos reales
A mí me molesta cuando alguien dice cosas como " pero en la película es gorda y ella era flaca" provoca darle su pase al psicólogo o psiquiatra ¡Es una película! ¿Qué esperas? Al menos deben cambiarle el nombre del protagonista porque sino, el director y todo su equipo, están de adorno. Si quieres un hecho tal cual, entonces mira un documental o una biografía y no te ganará la decepción. Para mí, la película estuvo muy bien enmarcada en el hecho principal; un movimiento que fue creado para oponerse al apartheid y que al verse descubierto, huyen y se meten en un banco donde generan una situación de rehenes.

Esto da pie a la propagación del mensaje "Liberen a Mandela". Creo que no tengo que explicar quien es este señor, pero fue el mayor luchador por la igualdad de los suyos, hasta convertirse en presidente, acabando con esta division (al menos en el plano político).
Ademas, otra cosa que me gustó fue que la trama no se desvió. Que si el protagonista se enamoró de la chica heroina o con 50 balas no le hicieron ni un rasguño.

También se tratan temas como la lealtad y traición. Cuando mentimos, tenemos que sostener la mentira, es decir, debemos tener mucha memoria para no olvidar detalle de la mentira.
En este sentido, cuando somos leales a nuestros principios y creencias, nada ni nadie puede hacer flaquear es fe. Y ellos creían en la libertad, en la igualdad, en sus ideales, en el compromiso con sus familias y cercanos; lamentablemente, no todos están dispuesto a perder cosas materiales e inmateriales por nada, o por otros. Un tema de mucha reflexión y cuidado.

Broadly speaking, because it could fall into the dreaded spoiler, it is a film attached to an event that allowed the liberation of a people oppressed and segregated for many years.

I love history, because it is a way of knowing what we were and what we should never be again.

It is a tribute to those people who have not conformed, who have raised their voice and changed the world with their actions for a society of equals. It is forbidden to forget what should never happen again.

Score: 5/5 (in my not at all cinephile or Oscar-savvy rating).

80's atmosphere, entertainment throughout, dialogue with content, action and suspense, stories of life, truly without falling into fascination, I recommend it if you like history.

En líneas generales, porque podría caer en el temido spoiler, es una película pegada a un acontecimiento que permitió la liberación de un pueblo oprimido y segregado por muchos años.
Yo amo la historia, porque es una manera de saber lo que fuimos y lo que no deberíamos volver a ser. Es un homenaje a esas personas que no se han conformado, que han levantado su voz y cambiaron al mundo con sus acciones por una sociedad de iguales. Prohibido olvidar lo que no debe volver a ocurrir.

Puntuación: 5/5 (en mi clasificación nada cinéfila o conocedora de los Oscar).

Ambiente de los 80, entretenimiento durante toda su duración, diálogos con contenido, acción y suspenso, historias de vida, de verdad que sin caer en fascinación, la recomiendo si te gusta la historia.
