Hola, cinéfilos de Hive! Hace tiempo que no me pasaba por acá, pero les prometo que vengo recargada de películas y series por recomendar.

La película que les traigo hoy, ha sido una de las mejores que he visto en estos últimos meses, pues despertó muchas emociones en mi y siento que es de esas películas que volvería a ver y no me aburriría. Los dejo con la reseña, espero les guste mucho.

Hello, Hive movie buffs! It's been a while since I've been here, but I promise you that I'm full of films and series to recommend.

The film I bring you today, has been one of the best I've seen in recent months, because it aroused many emotions in me and I feel that it is one of those films that I would watch again and I would not get bored. I leave you with the review, I hope you like it a lot.

Amy Addams interpreta a Susan, una mujer adinerada, dueña de una galería de arte, la cual está casada con Hutton Morrow. Aunque dice que tiene todo para ser feliz, en el fondo no lo es, pues realmente no se siente plena en ningún sentido.

Años antes, Susan estuvo casada brevemente con Edward, un compañero de clases de la Universidad que soñaba con ser escritor, pero eventualmente se dedicó a dar clases de inglés.

Amy Addams plays Susan, a wealthy art gallery owner who is married to Hutton Morrow. Although she says she has everything to be happy, deep down she is not, as she does not really feel fulfilled in any way.

Years before, Susan was briefly married to Edward, a college classmate who dreamed of becoming a writer, but eventually turned to teaching English.

En el momento más apagado de su matrimonio Susan recibe un paquete de Edward (con el que no habla hace 20 años). El paquete que recibió es una copia de la novela que va a publicar en unos días, la cual está dedicada a ella.

Como su esposo casi nunca está en casa, Susan se pone a leer la novela y es ahí donde arranca una de las historias más potentes que he visto; ésta trata sobre un hombre que viaja en carretera con su familia y tiene un encuentro desafortunado que escala hasta sus últimas consecuencias.

At the dullest moment in her marriage Susan receives a package from Edward (whom she hasn't spoken to in 20 years). The package she received is a copy of the novel he is going to publish in a few days, which is dedicated to her.

As her husband is rarely at home, Susan starts reading the novel and that is where one of the most powerful stories I have ever seen begins; it is about a man who is on a road trip with his family and has an unfortunate encounter that escalates to its ultimate consequences.

En ésta escena, a pesar de que estaba consiente de que no era real, me sentí impotente y enojada por todo lo que estaba sucediendo, pues todo lo que ocurre en esta parte que esta leyendo Susan, es angustioso.

La mayor parte de la película ocurre dentro de esta novela, pero también se sigue la vida de Susan y a través de flashbacks, conocemos un poco de su relación con Edward. Ésta novela, si bien es ficción, tiene puntos en común con el fallido matrimonio de Susan y Edward, por eso ella imagina al protagonista de la película como Edward; todo esto hace ver que a pesar de que lo fuerte que es novela, la película sea una historia de "amor", porque Susan reconecta con Edward a través de su personaje ficticio.

In this scene, even though I was aware that it wasn't real, I felt helpless and angry about everything that was happening, because everything that happens in this part that Susan is reading is distressing.

Most of the film takes place within this novel, but it also follows Susan's life and through flashbacks, we get to know a little of her relationship with Edward. This novel, although fictional, has points in common with Susan and Edward's failed marriage, which is why she imagines the protagonist of the film as Edward; all of this makes the film a "love" story, despite the strength of the novel, because Susan reconnects with Edward through her fictional character.

No voy a decir más de la historia, porque la idea de todo esto es disfrutar la película, pero lo que si les puedo decir es que el final es satisfactorio dependiendo el punto de vista que lo veas.

I'm not going to say more about the story, because the idea of all this is to enjoy the film, but what I can tell you is that the ending is satisfying depending on how you look at it.
