   Hello everyone! Today I remembered this movie that I saw some time ago and that stayed in my head as one of the best I saw in its genre. It is very good and I recommend it, you will not regret watching it. It is an adaptation of a book, that I haven't read but I would love to, called "Tony and Susan" written by Austin Wright.

   ¡Hola a todos! Hoy recordé esta película que vi hace un tiempo y que quedó en mi cabeza como un de las mejores que vi en su género. Es muy buena y la recomiendo, no se van a arrepentir de verla. Es una adaptación de un libro, que no he leído pero me encantría hacerlo, llamado “Tony and Susan” escrito por Austin Wright.

   My opinion/Mi opinión:

   The whole movie is told through Susan's memories, her old ambitions, disappointments and the consequences they had; triggered by reading the novel. At first it surprises her by its cruelty and darkness, but certainly by the perfection in which it is written, and that was because she never believed that her ex-husband was going to make it. It highlights the world of unhappiness in which Susan is immersed, the love history of her youth and the certainty that she herself was the one who destroyed it because of her own vanity and ambition. She wanted more out of life than a poor writer could give her, leading her to cheat on him with her current husband and, later, to leave him. Irony of fate, her new marriage ends in the same way.

   Toda la película se cuenta a través de los recuerdos de Susan, de sus antiguas ambiciones, decepciones y las consecuencias que tuvieron; detonadas por la lectura de la novela. Al principio la sorprende por su crueldad y oscuridad, pero sin duda por la perfección en la que está escrita, y eso fue porque nunca creyó en que su exesposo fuera a lograrlo. Pone en relieve el mundo de infelicidad en que se halla sumergida Susan, la historia de amor de su juventud y la certeza de que ella misma fue la que la destruyó a causa de su propia vanidad y ambición. Ella quería más de la vida de lo que un pobre escritor podía darle, por lo que la lleva a engañarlo con su actual esposo y, más tarde, a dejarlo. Ironía del destino, su nuevo matrimonio acaba de la misma manera.

   The emotions of disappointment and sadness cover the entire film. The play to me is posed as a revenge from her ex-husband towards her, stressing to her all that she lost and what the breakup of her marriage meant to him, how incredibly devastating it was. She also reminds him that his dreams were only within her grasp and thanks to Susan's pettiness love is forever destroyed. She mistakes her ex-husband's dreams for mediocrity and follows the path of the social conventions of her own circle, in which she trusts her ego and ambitions more. She needed to be the center and did not want to be displaced by those dreams, so she lost everything.

   Las emociones de la decepción y la tristeza cubren toda la película. La obra para mí se plantea como una venganza de su exesposo hacia ella, recalcándole todo lo que perdió y lo que significó para él la ruptura de su matrimonio, lo increíblemente devastadora que fue. También le recuerda que sus sueños sólo estaban al alcance de su mano y gracias a la mezquindad de Susan el amor se destruye para siempre. Esta confunde los sueños de su exesposo con la mediocridad y sigue el camino de las convenciones sociales de su propio círculo, en la que confía más su ego y sus ambiciones. Ella necesitaba ser el centro y no quería que aquellos sueños la desplazaran, por ello perdió todo.

   The contrast of a man who loved her to the point of madness with another who replaces her with another, leaving her alone for long nights, leads her to desire a meeting with her former love. He accepts, but his absence makes her realize that the love she lost is dead and will never return. It is a sad and touching ending, it really touches the viewer's heartstrings and it is shattering to understand the truth of the disappointment. It is a play not to be missed, where the value of dreams is in contrast with the conventions and pettiness of life itself.

   El contraste de un hombre que la amó hasta la locura con otro que la reemplaza por otra, dejándola largas noches en soledad, acaba por desear un encuentro con su antiguo amor. Este acepta, sin embargo su ausencia la hace comprender que el amor que perdió está muerto y que nunca va a volver. Es un final triste y conmovedor, realmente toca una fibra sensible del espectador y resulta demoledor comprender la verdad de la decepción. Una obra que no se pueden perder, donde el valor de los sueños contrasta con las convenciones y mezquindades de la propia vida.

   Hoy no salimos de los juegos para entrar en algo más profundo, pues me he visto con mi pareja la película "animales nocturnos" y a pesar de que a él no le ha gustado del todo, yo quedé totalmente fascinado en el mundo metafórico en el que me introdujeron.

   Today we did not leave the games to go into something deeper, because I watched with my partner the movie “Nocturnal Animals” and although he did not like it at all, I was totally fascinated in the metaphorical world in which I was introduced.

   Lo primero que debo advertirles es que si no eres de esas personas mente abierta que ve más allá de lo que te muestran y pueden analizar bajo otras perspectivas, aparte de tener un tanto de estomago, pues esta trama no es para ti, creo que fervientemente que esta película se hizo para personas que les gusta construir historias de ficción y saben distinguir el mundo real de la ficción y a la vez mezclarla.

   The first thing I must warn you is that if you are not one of those open-minded people who see beyond what they show you and can analyze under other perspectives, apart from having a bit of stomach, this plot is not for you, I fervently believe that this movie was made for people who like to build fictional stories and know how to distinguish the real world from fiction and at the same time mix it.

   Un poco complicado, pero es así, solo las personas que han podido ver esta pieza de película me podrán entender, y más si le han sacado todos esos mensajes metafóricos de gran importancia.

   A bit complicated, but that's how it is, only people who have been able to see this piece of film will understand me, and even more if they have extracted all those metaphorical messages of great importance.

   Todas estas explicaciones que voy a dar son según mi perspectiva y no recaen en lo absoluto en algún tipo de spoiler pues esta trama al parecer está hecha para pensarla en diferentes ángulos con incluso un final que pudiera ser varios de ellos o una mezcla de todo.

   All these explanations that I am going to give are according to my perspective and do not fall at all in any kind of spoiler because this plot seems to be made to think about it in different angles with even an ending that could be several of them or a mixture of everything.

   Iniciando con la primera escena que es bastante perturbadora, y no lo digo por el hecho de la obesidad y el desnudo, lo digo porque crea un primer impacto al espectador del cual no se está preparado, y estoy seguro que más de una persona dirá ¡que asco!, en un sentido de no estar acostumbrado a ver personas adultas, con problemas de peso totalmente desnudas en la cual se deja ver más de lo que pudieras imaginar entre líneas.

   Starting with the first scene which is quite disturbing, and I'm not saying this because of the fact of obesity and nudity, I say it because it creates a first impact to the viewer which is not prepared, and I'm sure more than one person will say “gross”, in a sense of not being used to seeing adult people with weight problems totally naked in which you can see more than you could imagine between the lines.

   Sin embargo, aquí en contraste con una pequeña parte de la trama, encontramos la primera metáfora importante, y es que las primeras escenas a mi parecer representa la enorme insatisfacción de vivir una vida donde lo tienes todo a grandes cantidades en un sentido que te da el poder de sentir querer hacer todo de una manera libre, pero que cuya realidad te hace daño a pesar de todo.

   However, here in contrast to a small part of the plot, we find the first important metaphor, and is that the first scenes in my opinion represents the enormous dissatisfaction of living a life where you have everything in large quantities in a sense that gives you the power to feel like you want to do everything in a free way, but whose reality hurts you in spite of everything.

   Este es el tipo de arte que quiere representar una artista cuyo rostro habla por sí mismo de una mujer que pareciera no tener una vida o chispa detrás de esos ojos azules vivos.

   This is the kind of art that wants to represent an artist whose face speaks for itself of a woman who seems to have no life or spark behind those vivid blue eyes.

   Y a simple vista sin entrar mucho en rodeos, se da a entender las razones por la cual se ve como una flor marchita. y no lo digo por su físico, dado que tiene un cuerpo y piel totalmente hermoso, pero solo eso. El hecho de vivir una vida a manos llenas, un matrimonio que realmente solo es una farsa por el tema de la infidelidad es algo que lleva a esta mujer a parecer alguien fría pero al filo del borde en cuanto a su vulnerabilidad.

   And at first glance, without going into too much detail, it is easy to understand the reasons why she looks like a wilted flower, and I'm not saying that because of her physique, since she has a totally beautiful body and skin, but only that. The fact of living a life with her hands full, a marriage that is really just a sham because of the infidelity issue is something that leads this woman to look like someone cold but at the edge of the edge in terms of her vulnerability.

   Y hablo de este último punto pues se siente lo vulnerable que es cuando recibe un libro por parte de quien fue su anterior esposo, un hombre que parecía no tener una carrera muy prometedora en cuanto a la literatura según se muestra en algunas escenas donde particularmente ella le deja saber que no es bueno para lo que cree.

   And I'm talking about this last point as you feel how vulnerable she is when she receives a book from who was her former husband, a man who seemed to not have a very promising career in terms of literature as shown in some scenes where she particularly lets him know that he's not good at what he believes in.

   Este libreto es toda la magia de esta trama, en este libro se narra un eventos muy fuertes, incluido violación, asesinato y persecución a gran escala. Estos tres elementos hacen que te mantengas en una eterna expectativa y carcomiente suspenso.

   But also metaphorically it relates what is the reality of this woman in a past life with the events narrated, because there is a point about weakness that in reality has been marked by a socioeconomic issue, while in the book it has been framed as a helplessness about a man who does not seem to know how to defend his family and how to react to heartbreaking circumstances.

   Cabe destacar que este libreto es básicamente una historia de ficción llena de violencia, tristeza y pérdidas, a un punto de hacer sentir al protagonista del mismo como alguien sin razones para seguir con vida.

   Y he aquí otra metáfora que voy a dejar para el final de esta reseña. Pues bien, en de los mismos eventos dramáticos muestran cierta belleza dentro del horror, y también el hecho de que este hombre haya tomado la decisión que le hace ver como alguien totalmente desesperado, una decisión que pues bien, no es la correcta porque de una u otra forma trae consecuencias.

   And here is another metaphor that I will leave for the end of this review.    Remember that I had mentioned that the author of the script is the ex of the protagonist, because the fact of reading this book makes her feel not only shocked by the content, but she is really overwhelmed by the literary potential, which shows what she did wrong in her past.

   Pero también hay ciertos momentos claves, el hecho de ver el crecimiento de su ex le hace tener una esperanza, y aquí nuevamente me detengo. Antes de esta esperanza hay una escena donde la protagonista mezcla una escena del libreto con su realidad y ello termina en la curiosidad de un cuadro que ella misma compró para su museo de arte en el que se destaca la "venganza".

   But there are also certain key moments, the fact of seeing the growth of her ex makes her hopeful, and here again I stop.    Entonces, tenemos a una mujer que rechazo en al vida real a un hombre por su posición socioeconómica y por el hecho de que no "tenía" futuro como escritor, sin embargo, con el tiempo se muestra lo contrario, haciendo que la esperanza de una mujer cuya vida actual es toda una mentira, se refleje en la posibilidad de que las cosas sean como antes, pues al final de todo, fue su primer amor.

   Por otra parte, la debilidad de la que ella le hace ver que es él, se representa en el libreto, lo que hace que ella como lectora se enfoque al protagonista como si fuese su ex. La belleza dentro del horror en cuanto a la violación y muerte de dos personas, representan la perdida de algo muy valioso en la vida real, que por cierto, lo mencionan indirectamente en una escena de ella con su actual esposo.

   On the other hand, the weakness of the one she makes him out to be is depicted in the script, making her as a reader approach the protagonist as if he were her ex. The beauty within the horror in terms of the rape and death of two people, represent the loss of something very valuable in real life, which by the way, is indirectly mentioned in a scene of her with her current husband.

   Ahora bien, regresemos al punto final de las decisiones, dentro del libreto se busca venganza por cierta injusticia, pues en la realidad es lo mismo, hay un punto donde la esperanza de esta mujer se transforma en todo lo contrario como si le hubiesen quitado el alma misma, y esto por supuesto ha sido un mérito de su ex pareja, siendo esta la escena final.

   For me, there are two conclusions to an ending that not everyone is going to be content with, however, whichever conclusion you reach leads you to that of the art painting, revenge.    Hola amigos de la comunidad de Movies & Tv, espero que se encuentren muy bien el día de hoy.

   Hoy junto a mi hermana vimos una película que ella ya había visto pero que por alguna razón yo no le había prestado atención ya que pensaba que era una película más del montón. La película de la que les quiero hablar es Animales Nocturnos, ya muchos la conocieron y otros tal vez no pero realmente me impresionó lo buena que fue esta película y todo el drama de la historia ademas de haber sido dirigida por Tom Ford el elenco tambien esta increíble. Aún no he podido dejar de pensar en la película ya que fue una historia muy impactante y que te atrapa de principio a fin. Sin animos de hacer spoilers les compartire en este post mi reseña acerca de esta película, los invito a seguir leyendo.

   Today with my sister we saw a movie that she had already seen but for some reason I had not paid attention to it because I thought it was just another movie. The movie I want to talk about is Nocturnal Animals, many of you already knew it and others maybe not but I was really impressed by how good this movie was and all the drama of the story besides being directed by Tom Ford the cast is also amazing. I still can't stop thinking about the movie as it was a very powerful story that grips you from beginning to end. Without spoilers I will share in this post my review of this movie, I invite you to read on.

   La trama de la película es bastante compleja pero a la vez tiene algo que la hace única y fascinante, dónde puedes sentir el dolor de cada personaje sobre todo de los protagonistas. Nos encontraremos con dos historias que van entrelazadas y que se desarrollan al mismo tiempo, tenemos a una mujer llamada Susan Morrow quien es una exitosa galerista de arte cuya vida siempre ha sido ser la mujer perfecta que espera la sociedad pero sobre todo ser la hija que siempre espero su madre quien es una persona bastante controladora y que siempre le está exigiendo a Susan ser una mujer exitosa y la cual juzga cada decisión que quiere tomar Susan, a pesar de que ella es una mujer adulta no puede evitar sentir la presión de su madre y el amor que siente hacia ella.

   The plot of the film is quite complex but at the same time it has something that makes it unique and fascinating, where you can feel the pain of each character, especially the main characters. We will find two stories that are intertwined and develop at the same time, we have a woman named Susan Morrow who is a successful art gallery owner whose life has always been to be the perfect woman expected by society but above all to be the daughter that her mother always expected, who is a very controlling person and who is always demanding Susan to be a successful woman and who judges every decision that Susan wants to take, even though she is an adult woman she cannot avoid feeling the pressure of her mother and the love she feels for her.

   Mientras avanza la historia Susan va leyendo una historia ficticia que escribió Edward su antigua pareja, el libro se titula Animales Nocturnos y sumerge a Susan en una historia horrible y desgarradora dónde hablan sobre la vida de un hombre llamado Tony se encuentra junto a su familia en un viaje por carretera y son interceptados por un grupo de hombres problematicos y con una actitud que busca diversion a costa del sufrimiento de Tony y su esposa junto a su hija. Esa noche se convierte en todo un caos porque estos hombres separan a Tony de su esposa e hija y se las llevan a un lugar desconocido dejándo a Tony solo en medio de la angustia por pensar que algo horrible le está ocurriendo a su familia.

   As the story progresses Susan reads a fictional story written by Edward her former partner, the book is called Nocturnal Animals and immerses Susan in a horrible and heartbreaking story where they talk about the life of a man named Tony is with his family on a road trip and are intercepted by a group of troubled men with an attitude that seeks fun at the expense of the suffering of Tony and his wife and daughter. That night turns into chaos as these men separate Tony from his wife and daughter and take them to an unknown location leaving Tony alone in anguish thinking that something horrible is happening to his family.

   Hay que destacar las increíble actuaciones de Amy Adams y Jake Gyllenhaal quienes desde sus personajes mostraron los sentimientos y la vulnerabilidad que tienen como seres humanos. Antes había visto el poster de la película y pensaba que era malísima, grave error porque me perdí de haberla visto mucho antes y saber que una historia como la de Animales Nocturnos pudiera existir. Tienes que sentarte y prepararte para lo que vas a ver porque hay mucho drama y dolor, muertes y reflexiones acerca de la vida y de las relaciones, de como podemos dar por sentado algunas cosas, que dejamos ir cosas buenas y que cuando nos damos cuenta de que eso es lo que queremos en nuestras vidas ya ha pasado el tiempo y las personas cambian y nadie vuelve a ser el mismo. Michael Shannon también merece una mención especial por su interpretación del detective Bobby Andes, un personaje oscuro y misterioso que se convierte en una pieza fundamental en la trama del libro. Su presencia en pantalla es imponente y su actuación nos deja sin aliento en cada escena en la que aparece.

   We must highlight the incredible performances of Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal who from their characters showed the feelings and vulnerability they have as human beings. I had seen the poster of the movie before and thought it was terrible, a big mistake because I missed having seen it much earlier and knowing that a story like Nocturnal Animals could exist. You have to sit down and prepare yourself for what you are going to see because there is a lot of drama and pain, deaths and reflections about life and relationships, how we can take some things for granted, that we let good things go and by the time we realize that is what we want in our lives time has passed and people change and no one is ever the same again. Michael Shannon also deserves a special mention for his portrayal of Detective Bobby Andes, a dark and mysterious character who becomes a pivotal piece in the plot of the book. His screen presence is imposing and his performance takes our breath away in every scene he appears in.

   💬 У цьому фільмі буде твір у творі. Це означає, що головна героїня читатиме книгу (рукопис), яку написав її колишній чоловік, і всі ці кадри з його книги будуть лежати в основі сюжету. Жінка заміжня за успішним і багатим чоловіком, та попередній її шлюб базувався на коханні. Вони розійшлися, але тепер жінка отримала лист із рукописом його книги і сідає читати її. Ми в сюжеті твору побачимо щасливу сім'ю, яка кудись їде. І на шляху їх підрізають хулігани, забирають дружину і дочку і тікають.    La cinta fue estrenada a finales de 2016

   De las películas que he visto en los últimos años, esta es una de las que más me ha impresionado. Llegué a ella, hace tres años, atraído por la pareja protagonista porque recién acababa de ver Arrival con Amy Adams (una de mis actrices favoritas) y no hacía mucho había visto Enemy, la adaptación cinematográfica de El hombre duplicado de José Saramago, protagonizada por Jake Gyllenhaal, así que apenas supe que estaban juntos en Nocturnal animals, no dudé en verla, aunque no supiera de qué trataba.

   La película cuenta la historia de Susan (Amy Adams), una adinerada y afamada galerista que vive en Los Ángeles con su segundo esposo, Hutton, con quien comparte una vida llena de lujos, pero en medio de la cual se siente un poco vacía. Al hablar con una amiga, confiesa sentirse un poco ingrata por no poder ser feliz. Tiene un gran trabajo, un esposo exitoso y atractivo, amistades adineradas, una vida con todas las comodidades y sin embargo, su vida le pesa. Y entonces, un día recibe una novela escrita por su ex esposo Edward Sheffield (Jake Gyllenhaal), del que lleva casi veinte años sin saber nada. La novela, cuyo título da nombre a la película, está dedicada a Susan y en una carta que acompaña el paquete, Edward le pide que lea la novela y se ponga en contacto con él. Edward fue siempre dulce, tierno, algunos dirían que falto de carácter e incluso débil; sin embargo, Susan lo amó y lo defendió, al menos al inicio, incluso frente a su madre que le insistía en que no tenían un futuro juntos. ¿Qué pasó? ¿por qué se divorciaron? ¿por qué llevan tantos años sin tener contacto?    En la carretera

   Por su parte, la novela cuenta una historia con mucha tensión y violencia: Tony y Laura Hastings son un matrimonio que viaja de noche por una solitaria carretera de Texas, junto a India, su hija adolescente, cuando un grupo de hombres a bordo de otro vehículo, los sacan de la carretera y tras momentos de tensión y violencia latente, raptan a las dos mujeres, dejando a Tony abandonado en una carretera secundaria. A medida que Susan lee la novela, se nota que ésta afecta su ánimo, de por sí ya bastante inestable y agrava su insomnio, provocando una reacción física similar a la que la película provoca en los espectadores. Las secuencias fílmicas del libro de Edward resultan bastante violentas y físicamente incómodas para quien ve la cinta, logrando la canalización del dolor vía Edward-Susan-espectador.

   

   Michael Shannon como el detective Bobby Andes

   La novela de Edward es un thriller psicológico, una novela negra en donde aparece uno de mis actores de reparto favoritos, Michael Shannon, interpretando al detective Bobby Andes, quien investiga el incidente (fue nominado al Oscar por este papel) y el actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson como Ray Marcus, lider de la banda que amenaza a la familia de Tony (obtuvo el Globo de Oro por este papel). La elección de Isla Fisher como Laura Hastings fue acertada porque, por un lado sirve para diferenciar la realidad de la ficción dentro de la cinta y por otro, refleja la evidente similitud física existente entre Susan, la ex esposa de Edward, y la esposa de su protagonista Tony, dentro de la novela. La novela sigue con los elementos propios de su género, la investigación, justicia, violencia, venganza, la crisis psicológica de su protagonista y conduce a un desenlace trágico y por supuesto, violento.

   

   El libro

   Una de las cosas que destaca en la cinta, es el carácter literario de la trama y del guión, ese toque que tienen las historias que han sido adaptadas del papel a la pantalla. Y es que, Nocturnal animals en realidad está basada en la novela Tony and Susan de Austin Wright, publicada en 1993. En su versión en español fue traducida como Tres noches y editada por el sello Salamandra. Es interesante que el título sea ese y no Edward and Susan, por ejemplo, pero al incluir en el nombre a Tony y a Susan se interpreta esa conexión entre realidad y ficción (una historia metaficcional) y la conexión existente entre lo que siente Tony en la ficción y aquello que transmite a Susan en la realidad. Otra cosa destacable es que Edward es un personaje menor en participación, a pesar de lo clave que resulta, pues es el impulsor de la historia.

   

   Edición en español

   Edward escribió la novela que se cuenta y podemos verlo en los _flashbacks_ de Susan, pero no en el tiempo presente. Vemos a Susan con Hutton, en su trabajo, con sus amigos, todo lo que es su vida actual, pero no sabemos qué ha sido de su ex esposo porque no se nos muestra su _presente_, ¿se casó de nuevo? ¿está bien? ¿aún la ama? Nada de esto podemos saberlo y aunque Jake Gyllenhaal es el protagonista de la película, la mayor parte de sus apariciones en pantalla son interpretando a Tony, el personaje de la novela, y no a Edward, su autor. El guión fue adaptado al cine por el propio Director, Tom Ford y fue reconocido por ello en varias galas, con nominaciones importantes y premios dados por la crítica en Hawái y Las Vegas.

   

   La pareja protagonista, junto a Tom Ford

   Es posible que el nombre de Tom Ford les suene de algo, así que quiero aprovechar para decirles que no, no tiene el mismo nombre del famoso diseñador de modas, este Tom Ford es el mismo diseñador de modas. Y su toque se nota en la estética de la película. Los colores oscuros y las sombras, predominan en las secuencias del secuestro, la huida (en la novela) y en los recuerdos que tiene Susan de Edward; y los tonos claros, iluminados, amarillentos, marcan la pauta en las secuencias diurnas de la investigación policial en el desierto de Texas y la persecución de los responsables. Además, el trabajo de dirección y de montaje es muy, muy bueno, razón por la cual obtuvo el premio del jurado en el Festival de Venecia y otras nominaciones importantes.

   

   Amy Adams como Susan

   Excelente dirección, buen montaje, excelente guión, actuaciones destacadas, una fotografía apropiada y una tensa banda sonora, hacen de Nocturnal animals una gran opción para los amantes del cine, aquellos a quienes les gusta sumergirse en la trama al punto de involucrarse emocionalmente. Probablemente las escenas de violencia y tensión se cuelen por debajo de su piel y hagan eco en su cuerpo, generando una sensación de incomodidad, pero es parte del atractivo de esta cinta y una de las razones por las que destaca por encima de mucas otras. Le doy 8/10 puntos para este film neo-noir y metaficcional thriller psicológico de alta factura que hará las delicias de los fanáticos del buen cine.

   From the beginning we can see a criticism of the consumer society and the trash in which art has become when trying to reflect what we have become. And wrapping everything, a dense, powerful soundtrack of classic thriller. When the show ends, we discover Susan, the creator of the perverse performance, which seems to hide a very great remorse and dissatisfaction.

   Susan struggled all her life to escape the influence of her mother, a materialistic and classist woman. While Susan tries to escape the depression and her long insomnia, she receives the first copy of the novel entitled Nocturnal Animals, written by her first husband, Edward Sheffield. The book tells the tragic fate of a husband and wife on a trip through Texas on the way to their vacation in the company of their daughter. The diabolical spin of this story gradually extends into Susan's mood and emotions, taking her back to her repressed past, as she is immediately drawn to the narrative that soon begins to stir her own story with Edward and the pain that caused him the separation.

   Nocturnal Animals navigates between criticism of Susan's lifestyle and destructive memories, accompanied by a fabulous sub-plot that belongs to the reading of the novel sent. What gives a fascinating narrative structure to the movie. Sometimes, the drama of Susan's disorders, accompanied by several sequences that make the suspense become an inherent part of the story. However, with an extraordinary montage, both stories have an excellent parallel.

   The film also raises the clash between civilization and barbarism, the contrast between an urban society, as rational as it is sinister and a deep society, haunted by ignorance and psychopathy. The film takes us from one to another thanks to the game it poses with parallel realities: there is a "real" fiction, in which the character of Susan lives, and then a fiction within fiction, in the novel written by the ex-husband of the protagonist. Although the distance between one and another is volatilized from the moment in which it is decided that Jake Gyllenhaal interprets both the ex-husband of Susan, named Edward, and the protagonist of the novel written by Edward, named Tony. A direct link on which the film insists through elegant fades.

   The film has a cast full of talent and complex characters, led by Amy Adams as never before seen: mature, sad, bitter, lonely, totally dissatisfied with the decisions she made. He lives from the appearances that he criticized as a young man, in the shadows of a past he does not want to remember. We also see an incredible Jake Gyllenhal, which is for me the most important part of the plot. His character is a sea of emotions that may seem insensitive, but that deep inside are eating away feelings that were never in him. Michael Shannon is unrepeatable, his character navigates between the comic, serious and mysterious, is the classic sheriff in a serious and violent story. The rest of the cast is correct, although they are a little misused as Hammer, Laura Linney and Michael Sheen that just appear a few minutes on the screen.

   Without a doubt, this is a story told with a neatness and a violent passivity, characters twisted but serious, sad, angry, with pain, human. It's an excellent movie, not because of its unexpected twists, or visually terrifying moments, but because at some point in our lives we've had these feelings, these reasons, these excuses.

   This is one of those movies that I want to like more than I really like, as it has many ingredients to be a masterpiece, but also ends up making a series of small mistakes that may be understandable, but that go down a little your rating.

   When Tom Ford reads the novel "Tony and Susan," the writer Austin Wright, the year is 1993. Tom works at Gucci and only one year before being promoted to a creative director of the brand, and for a decade to turn the brand into a cult, but myself in a fashion icon. Still, the tentacles of this story caught his mind, and he began writing a script, patiently waiting for the time to start making movies. And wait. Tom Ford is a lot of things, but one of the main things is that he has learned to persevere. Over 20 years in the fashion industry, 30 years of marriage with journalist Richard Buckley, and the fact that his filmography is just two films is just the beginning. In 2009, Tom debuts with A Single Man, starring Colin Firth and Julian Moore. Firth was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe, so the film certainly did not go unnoticed. "A Single Man" has a lot of admirers, but can not deny his breadth and dose of pretense. Not too irritating, but not quite outrageous. For a person whose attention to detail has made him a millionaire, there is no room for compromise.

   

   Here, in his second movie " Nocturnal Animals," the situation is quite different. The story tells us Susan (Amy Adams), a galleryist in Los Angeles, who has all the material that one can think of, but leads an empty and lonely life. Her husband is always gone and she is walking around sexy dresses and high heels, but nobody sees them. Unexpectedly, she receives the novel " Nocturnal Animals", written by her first husband, Edward Sheffield (Jake Gyllenhaal), who sends it to her. She is dedicated to her and she is excited. The brutality of what happens from these "night predators" makes Susan remind her that Edward has called her a "night predator" because she is not asleep, and so the movie unleashes a third time space with Susan's memories of moments with Edward, everything she has done to him, and a complete reassessment of what her life is and how she has gone.

   

   Every plot dimension has its own style and tone. Susan's life in LA is set in an enormous state of mind that even borders on Grotesque. Baroque, overexposed, with exquisite receptions, absurd works of art, beautiful clothes, good manners, and weird birds (Michael Sheen, Jenna Malone, Andrea Rysaburo). Tom Ford comes from such a world on the glossy surface and shows it in the best way. Take a look at the frames with the inscriptions. They are part of Susan's world. Everything there is - and you do not like it, do not cut your eyes. But in fact, the most appealing universe is the "fictional" - the one in Texas, where Michael Shannon will appear as the local "good cop" Bobby Andes. Jake Gyllenhall is Tony / Edward, who is totally vulnerable and helpless to protect his family against a gang of psychopaths led by Ray (Aaron Taylor-Johnson). Gyllenhaal has always shown a cruel flair for roles and this time he has not mistaken himself again. His personality is a challenge, because it is terribly passive, but it builds on it from anger, remorse and sadness. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, known from the movie "Kick-Ass", is a phenomenal antagonist. He himself reveals that it took him about three months to take on a role and so much to get out of it. Tom Ford wants to create a somewhat more authentic villain, not to fully comply with the cliché of the typical redneck, white trash piece of s * it. And Aaron Taylor-Johnson manages to cross all of these limits. He personally did not write his character. Because if something can be distinguished as the weakness of the film is that heroes, prototypes, genre universes and even parts of the dialogue are like fragments of another film borrowed for a little, almost fully embodied in this new thing but not quite . Susan reads the book and begins to realize that Edward tells her, "this is us!" Who is the killer, who is the victim, what are the causes and consequences, who is the night predator and who will be eaten? The director leads us to the responses in a movie he claims to be about the importance of never letting the people you hold when you really found them. Tom Ford's movie is something like a mix of darkness andshine. And that turns out to be a pretty good combination.
