Finished watching the second season of Chad Powers on Disney. I posted a bit ago about the first season, and now we binged the second season in less than a week. It isn't so difficult to watch since we have 6 episodes; the longest episode is the last of the season with 37 minutes,s so it is a pretty chill TV show to watch very fast. Just be careful since there are some spoilers from season 1 in here. The first season ended quite interestingly after Coach Ricky discovered that Chad wasn't really Chad, but we saw that she had to accept Chad or the team would suffer from his loss.
This season was more of a build-up of the relationship between Russ/Chad Powers and coach Ricky. With many ups and downs that finally made peace between both main characters of the show. But of course we had a cliffhanger at the end of the season again, but I don't think it was a dramatic one but still raises a bit of questioning how the main characters are going to deal with the new reality.
Here we had a villain: the rejected player Gerry started to hate Chad Powers more and almost ruined the TV show. Also, we see Danny, the loyal friend of Russ strengthening his friendship with the football player. We basically have the same actors from season 1; Perry Mattfeld as Coach Ricky is the only one that I am still not sure if she is a good actor for the role, but in a world dominated by men with low IQ, her role is still as an insecure man who doubts her potential that finally ends in the last episode of the season.
But we've got a new character, Jay (Colin Woodell), a wealthy Catfish alumnus who helps as a sponsor of the team and tries to conquer Coach Ricky and find her a job in another place. The season brings suspense, some highs and lows between relationships, and some feelings showing that Russ is totally changed and caring about other people and even thinking about ending his "Chad" career in order to sacrifice for Danny and Ricky to continue their life normally.
The show is fun; I laughed a bit at some more jokes, especially when Russ real father is invited to a party as Chad's father, and he plays the role well to make sure that Chad's dumbness is explained by his family. Especially the life story of being raised in an underground bunker working in a subterranean hay farm. For me, it is a fun show that makes you want to watch until the end of the season.
