Hell's Paradise Volume 1 and my quest to finish the story.

  My 9-year-old daughter is reading a lot ,and she was getting a taste for Graphic Novels, so I decided to introduce her to the manga world. She has already Ranma 1/2 all of Ranma 1/2, and she is reading some other series. That made me come back to the Manga world. I watched the two seasons of Hell's Paradise, so I decided to read it and maybe finally know what happens after the second season finishes. So I got Volume 1 at our local library. Maybe that first volume is the one that presents the inner fight of my favourite characters: the samurai Yamada Asaemon, Sagiri, i and the shinobi Gabimaru. This is a story that I am in love with, and I need to see how it ends. It brings existentialist debates and great art.

  The first moment of the story in the anime, I guess,s was very similar to the manga, with Gabimaru being executed for his crimes. He is a Shinobi and killed too many people. They tried to execute him in as many different ways as possible: burning, decapitation, stretching, etc. But all had the same result: he wasn't killed, not because he was avoiding it, but because his body doesn't give up on existing.   The representation that appears a couple of times, with the characters carrying the burden of all the deaths that they were responsible for, is interesting. It is represented as clothing on their bare bodies and how this weight is carried by them. So despite the coldness to kill, both have trouble dealing with it.

  The first volume starts with GGabimaru'srecruitment and goes until their first moments on the island, where they need to recover the elixir of eternal life. The first volume has 6 chapters and more than 200 pages, which makes the equivalence of the first 3 episodes of the Anime's season 1. Right after Gabimaru defeats another assassin recruited for this task, their supervisor, another samurai, warns Gabimaru that the Shogunate is sending other ninjas. Gabimaru,aru in that moment,ment thinks that Sagiri is just delaying his speed of achieving success in the mission, so she becomes a threat to the task of being pardoned and returning to his wife. So he decides to kill her. That is another great moment of the story.

  Gabimaru could end the fight and kill Sagiri, but again Gabimaru feels the weight of killing, and his conscience makes him not do that through the image of his wife holding him to avoid killing Sagiri. At this point,t both Sagiri and Gabimaru understand that they would be allies in the search for the elixir and start to become closer. Volume 2 is still unavailable for me in my librarso So I need to wait a bit, but I added my name in the queue. In Brazil, I used to buy lots of manga. I am glad that here I can read all of them for free; I just need to be patient.

  Minha filha de 9 anos está lendo bastante, e ela estava começando a gostar de Graphic Novels, então decidi apresentá-la ao mundo dos mangás. Ela já leu todo Ranma 1/2, e está lendo algumas outras séries. Isso me fez voltar ao mundo dos mangás. Eu assisti às duas temporadas de Hell's Paradise, então decidi lê-lo e talvez finalmente descobrir o que acontece depois do final da segunda temporada. Então peguei o Volume 1 na nossa biblioteca local. Talvez esse primeiro volume seja aquele que apresenta a luta interior dos meus personagens favoritos: a samurai Yamada Asaemon, Sagiri, e o shinobi Gabimaru. Essa é uma história pela qual sou apaixonado, e preciso ver como ela termina. Ela traz debates existencialistas e uma arte incrível.

  O primeiro momento da história no anime, eu acho, foi muito parecido com o mangá, com Gabimaru sendo executado por seus crimes. Ele é um Shinobi e matou pessoas demais. Eles tentaram executá-lo de tantas maneiras diferentes quanto possível: queimando, decapitando, esticando, etc. Mas todos tiveram o mesmo resultado: ele não foi morto, não porque estava evitando isso, mas porque seu corpo não desiste de existir.   A representação que aparece algumas vezes, com os personagens carregando o peso de todas as mortes pelas quais foram responsáveis, é interessante. Ela é representada como roupas sobre seus corpos nus e pela forma como esse peso é carregado por eles. Então, apesar da frieza para matar, ambos têm dificuldade em lidar com isso.

  O primeiro volume começa com o recrutamento de Gabimaru e vai até os primeiros momentos deles na ilha, onde precisam recuperar o elixir da vida eterna. O primeiro volume tem 6 capítulos e mais de 200 páginas, o que corresponde aos primeiros 3 episódios da 1ª temporada do anime. Logo depois que Gabimaru derrota outro assassino recrutado para essa tarefa, seu supervisor, outro samurai, avisa a Gabimaru que o Shogunato está enviando outros ninjas. Gabimaru, naquele momento, pensa que Sagiri está apenas atrasando sua velocidade para alcançar o sucesso na missão, então ela se torna uma ameaça à tarefa de ser perdoado e voltar para sua esposa. Então ele decide matá-la. Esse é outro grande momento da história.

  Gabimaru poderia terminar a luta e matar Sagiri, mas, novamente, Gabimaru sente o peso de matar, e sua consciência faz com que ele não faça isso através da imagem de sua esposa segurando-o para evitar que ele mate Sagiri. Nesse momento, tanto Sagiri quanto Gabimaru entendem que seriam aliados na busca pelo elixir e começam a se aproximar. O Volume 2 ainda não está disponível para mim na biblioteca. Então preciso esperar um pouco, mas coloquei meu nome na fila. No Brasil, eu costumava comprar muitos mangás. Fico feliz que aqui eu possa ler todos eles de graça; só preciso ter paciência.
