My picture of the cover

This week was tense. I am finishing an article for work, so my writing is focused on technical writing rather than writing fun stuff. Also Hive Raven was finally seen by many people and got a bunch of feedback which still need to finish to manage all of then, but soon a release will be posted. But yeah, let's go with Volume 5 of Hell's Paradise. I already finished Volume 6, so it is better to release ASAP. This is my internal goal to post all the volume reviews until the end and have those saved here on Hive.

First, I want to start with the cover art. I have been noticing that the latest volumes' art is amazing. Yuzuriha om tjos cover is amazing. And the Shinobi has a great role in this volume, so I think it deserved the cover art this time. The volume is all focused on the first big battle against Lord Tensen, Mu Dan.

Mu Dan, or Jiujun Amoghavajra, presents himself

Sagiri, Yuzuriha, and Senta arrive at Horai and find Lord Tense, who doesn't lose time, and receive them, decapitating their man-tree friend and preventing Yuzuriha from running away. He is fast and shows his great use of the Tao. Lord Tensen quickly notices that the shinobi, like the ninja Gabimaru, is already aware of Tao somehow and can hide and notice his movements. That amazes Lord Tensen.

Mu Dan noticing that the Shinobi Yuzuriza perceives Tao.

But Mu Dan is powerful,l so even Yuzuriha's capabilities aren't enough. However, Sagiri surprises Mu Dan and learns from Hoko, the tree man, that this is now just a head in the floor, the weak point of a Lord Tensen, called the Tandem, where the flow of the Ying and Yang of Tao encounters, which is usually in the Belly. That is also associated with their characteristic of Male and Female, and life originating in the sexual organs. Sagiri shows during the battle that she learned to feel the Tao, which are the waves,s and her Lord Tensen with a bad injury. But for sure it isn't enough to kill him.

The full true form of Mu Dan, the male and female parts linked by a plant ovule.

The samurai Senta gets hit by Mu Dan and gets some flowers growing in his head. When everything seems lost, the blind samurai Shion and Nurugai arrive at the battle. Mu Dan has to transform into his real form, a big flower monster, and after a while, of course,e the group defeats it with the help of everyone. For me, the most emotional part is Senta's farewell; he doesn't resist the wounds. He was totally in love with Yuzuriha, and he imagines,s before his death, the moment with her, which is portrayed with beautiful art in the Manga.

Final moments of Senta with Yuzuriha; he died happily at least.

While the group is resting after the fight, the other part of the group with Mei sees that Gabimaru had consequences in the last fight using his Tao. He lost his memory, and part of his Tao was missing. That's another consequence that the group is dealing with while using their Tao: a big physical effort that sometimes can damage even memory. Gabimaru totally forgot about many things, including what he was doing there and about his wife. Also, the volume brings the other group of samurai/ninjas led by Shugen in a ship coming to the island. That was a very action-focused volume, more focused on the fight, but still with some good and sad moments.
