The movie 'red notice' is an entertaining drama that consists of both a comedy and action. A heist drama full of action which was released on the 5th November, 2021. Personally, there have been different critiques concerning the movie, but I think it was one of the best Netflix movies produced in 2021 and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber .Red Notice is a fun thrill ride of a film. The overall story is surprisingly quite unpredictable to be honest. There are plenty of twists, turns and reveals to keep you hooked.
A BRIEF SYNOPSIS As simple as it may sound although complicated, the heist drama is all about an interpolagent who in this world of international crime is trying to capture the world's most wanted art thief which became a bit complicated. As they wanted to steal all Cleopatra's ancient eggs. Generally, it's a fictional story about Cleopatra's three eggs.
THE CASTS
DWAYNE JOHNSON as JOHN HARTLEY: it is no doubt that Dwayne plays a cool, funny and badass character. Although, John Hartley posed to be an FBI agent searching for the art thief, but along the line got supposedly framed for switching the egg. The brilliant inspector was not having any of his lie and threw him into prison. All this was a plot to get close to Boothe who it is believed knows the secret to finding the third egg. Hence, Hartley and THE Bishop are working together. Hartley is the typical cop-type character. He is a strong tough-guy type ready to put criminals away. Johnson is a wrestler-turned-actor.
GAL GADOT as THE BISHOP: plays a mysterious femme Fatale. She also plays a really badass and seductive character. The Bishop is the foil to Booth and Hartley, becoming the reason the pair are forced to team up. She is a smooth art thief, perhaps an even better one than Booth. She conspired with Hartley and they worked secretly together throughout the movie.
RYAN REYNOLDS AS NOLAN BOOTHE: The most wanted art thief in the world. He is the son of a Swiss police captain and an Egyptologist. As a master escape artist, Nolan always stays one step ahead of Interpol agents. He was the comedian of the movie and also made references to other movies like the Jurassic park.
**RITU ARYA as Inspector URVASHI DAS:**is the inspector working for interpol and she was in charge of catching the art thieves. But these thieves always played a fast one on her. She sends John to a Russian prison after suspecting that he’s a master thief. Das chases the protagonists around the world throughout the movie.
Chris Diamantopoulos as Sotto Voce: An international arms dealer. He owns the second egg and likes to strangle people. Sotto Voce teams up with The Bishop and then receives a big surprise.
MY REVIEW Although this movie seem to follow the particular pattern of various hiest movies, but the complication and plot twist is worthy of mention. Somehow you just could not place the fact that the Bishop and the acclaimed FBI agent were working hand in hand. To the point that I even exclaimed alongside Nolan Boothe when Sarah Black and Hartley shared a kiss after they got the third egg. The twist too, it was expected that as usual, the inspector will catch the criminals but she ended up being a pun in their game. The comedy was worthwhile, kudos to Ryan who dishes out selfless joke, also as a means to secure their escape plans. I love movies that combine actions with comedy to provide a relapse and comic relief.
