My Review
I just saw Tomb Raider last night. This version of Tomb Raider follows the 2013 re-boot of the video game.
Alicia Vikander is wonderful. She is definitely the bright point of the film. I love how she brings a humanity, and a vulnerability, to the role of Lara Croft. Don't get me wrong I loved Angelina as Lara in the first of the two movies, but her character was super human, while Alicia 's is very human.
I wanted to give the movie an A, but two things bothered me. The first was that I couldn't get the Indiana Jones "Last Crusade" out of my mind. The second was that the puzzles in the beginning were solved way too quickly. I would have loved if they recreated the in game experience where you have to suffer through solving the puzzle a little.
Rating - B (Worth the price of the ticket and a popcorn)
I had a good time watching the film and recommend you give it a shot. It was a fun time and I look forward to seeing Alicia Vikander in the sequel.
