Hace dos días comencé a ver esta serie recomendada por mi cuñada recientemente, la verdad es que el título no me dejó muy enganchado pero igual le di el beneficio de la duda por si acaso.
Two days ago I started watching this series recently recommended by my sister-in-law, the truth is that the title didn't leave me very hooked but I still gave it the benefit of the doubt just in case.
Me llevé una grata sorpresa con el primer capítulo, me dejó en suspenso hasta el capítulo 10 que acabo de terminar de ver, mientras escribo estas líneas.
I was pleasantly surprised by the first chapter, it left me in suspense until chapter 10, which I just finished watching as I write these lines.
The Wilds (original de Amazon y estrenada en Diciembre de 2020) es un drama que narra las vidas de 8 adolescentes que son enviadas por sus padres a un retiro femenino pero que se ve interrumpido por un accidente en el avión donde viajaban a Hawaii (lugar del retiro) y quedan atrapadas en un isla desierta en donde deberán luchar por sobrevivir mientras batallan con sus problemas y la convivencia con entre todas.
The Wilds (Amazon original premiere in December of 2020) is a drama that narrates the lives of 8 teenagers who are sent by their parents to a female retreat but that is interrupted by an accident on the plane where they were traveling to Hawaii (place retirement) and are trapped on a desert island where they must fight to survive while struggling with their problems and coexistence with each other.

Para mi radar de series, esta pasó desapercibida, para ser honesto. No supe de ella sino hasta hace unos días (casi 2 años después de su estreno). Aunque los dramas suelen ser muy interesantes de ver para mi, éste en particular comenzó bastante fuerte y comenzó a ganar poder a medida que los episodios transcurrían.
On my series radar, this one flew under the radar, to be honest. I didn't know about it until a few days ago (almost 2 years after its premiere). Although dramas are usually very interesting to watch for me, this one in particular started out quite strong and started to gain power as the episodes went on.
Por momentos, si sentí que se perdí un poco el foco al tema central, y caían en momentos innecesarios (escenas íntimas), pero retomaban otra vez el camino de la trama principal y volvía el interés por saber lo que ocurría con las 8 chicas.
At times, I did feel that the focus on the central theme was lost a little, and they fell into unnecessary moments (intimate scenes), but they returned to the path of the main plot again and the interest in knowing what was happening with the 8 girls returned.
El enfocarse en la historia de casa personaje, desarrollar el trasfondo de su situación y adentrarnos en el por qué necesitaba asistir a un retiro femenino, fue sin duda importante para mantenernos entretenidos e informados sobre lo que las llevó en primer lugar a estar en ese avión.
Focusing on each character's backstory, developing the background of their situation, and delving into why they needed to attend a women's retreat was definitely important in keeping us entertained and informed about what brought them onto that plane in the first place.
Está llena de intriga y un poco de suspenso. Sin duda tiene ese punto de querer saber porque pasan ciertas cosas o porque ciertos personajes (principales o secundarios) actual de una manera diferente. Está llena de temas sensibles y tocados anteriormente pero de una forma distinta (a mi parecer) y ahí radica lo bueno de la serie.
It is full of intrigue and a bit of suspense. It certainly has that point of wanting to know why certain things happen or why certain characters (main or secondary) act in a different way. It is full of sensitive issues and touched on previously but in a different way (in my opinion) and therein lies the good thing about the series.

Si buscas una serie con una gran cantidad de flashbacks, no busques más. Aquí hacen uso de este recurso innumerables veces, y que es la única forma de saber más de los personajes, de conocer sus vidas y de por qué fueron enviadas por sus padres a ese retiro que acabo en tragedia.
If you're looking for a series with a lot of flashbacks, look no further. Here they make use of this resource countless times, and that it is the only way to learn more about the characters, to know their lives and why they were sent by their parents to that retreat that ended in tragedy.
Cuenta con una segunda temporada que fue estrenada apenas en Mayo de este año con 8 episodios, mientras que esta primera temporada contó con 10.
It has a second season that was released just in May of this year with 8 episodes, while this first season had 10.
El cast de la serie para mi fue completamente nuevo. Sus rostros y nombres no los pude reconocer de ninguna otra serie o película, lo cual lo hizo aún más interesante porque me permitió conocer nuevos rostros. Fueron los papeles correctos para las actrices y actores correctos.
The cast of the series for me was completely new. Their faces and names I could not recognize from any other series or movies, which made it even more interesting because it allowed me to meet new faces. They were the right roles for the right actresses and actors.
Durante el final de primera temporada quedó el cliffhanger bastante interesante, pero no les haré spoilers, tendrán que verla por ustedes mismos si el tema les ha interesado.

During the first season finale, the cliffhanger was quite interesting, but I will not give you spoilers, you will have to see it for yourselves if the subject has interested you.
Ya mismo espero irme a ver la segunda temporada para conocer en que otros problemas son expuestas estas adolescentes y como harán para lograr continuar con vida en esa isla (si es que aún están en esa isla o no); eso ya lo veremos.
Right now I hope to go see the second season to find out what other problems these adolescents are exposed to and how they will manage to continue living on that island (if they are still on that island or not); we'll see about that.
