We are well aware that there are many series and movies with repetitive storylines—as is the case here—yet we still can't help but watch them. Even if the plots are similar, they are never exactly the same; there is always something different that sparks interest, especially when the stories are based on real events, books, or novels.
Last Seen fits this pattern. It tells the story of a desperate, lost man whose three-year-old daughter was kidnapped eleven years ago—an event that has left him without peace and mired in alcoholism. One day, he receives a call from a young woman who appears to be his daughter, prompting him to do whatever it takes to find her.

Here is a short trailer showing how desperation can drive you to madness and rash actions, upending the lives of everyone around you. This series is an Australian-UK co-production created by Kris Mrksa—one of the region's most acclaimed screenwriters—and stars fellow Australian Patrick Brammall. He delivers a stellar performance as a father determined to uncover the truth and find his daughter's whereabouts, no matter the cost.
As I mentioned, it is a short series with few episodes, but it is definitely worth watching. It features great cinematography and stunning landscapes, set against a backdrop of nature. The plot is compelling and gets straight to the point without unnecessary filler; everything is interconnected from the start, and the final episodes bring a deeper understanding of the events.
So, there you have it—a great recommendation for this weekend! 🤪
