Saludos, el día de ayer mi amigo @ismaelgranados me comentaba sobre el concurso de la comunidad sobre nuestra película de acción favorita, ni reacción inmediata fue decir que el género de acción no es mi favorito y son pocas las películas que conocí o que me gustan en ese aspecto, la mayoría son muy viejas, sin embargo luego de analizar un poco los rasgos característicos de una película de acción me di cuenta que las películas que tienen la figura del vengador me gustan siempre que este tenga un buen desarrollo del personaje, es decir esas películas donde no tratan solamente sobre una persona que toma las armas en revancha y el mayor entrenamiento son los disparos y explosiones, en pocas palabras me gustan las películas de acción que tengan otro género involucrado bien sea drama o incluso a veces la comedia, en este caso recordé a algunos de mis vengadores favoritos como por ejemplo El cuervo , John Wick o el mismo Batman, pero estas sin figuras que no se acercan mucho a lo que un ciudadano común podría hacer cuando las circunstancias adversas destrozan su vida, es decir antes el infortunio los seres comunes no tomamos la venganza como primera opción, pero por otro lado creo que cualquier persona podría sentir empatía por un personaje como el protagonista de Asalto a Wall Street, por eso escogí esta como mi película favorita.
Greetings, yesterday my friend @ismaelgranados told me about the community contest about our favorite action movie, no immediate reaction was to say that the action genre is not my favorite and there are few movies that I knew or that I like in that aspect, most of them are very old, however after analyzing a bit the characteristic features of an action movie I realized that I like movies that have the figure of the avenger as long as he has a good character development, that is say those movies where they are not only about a person who takes up arms in revenge and the greatest training is shooting and explosions, in a nutshell I like action movies that have another genre involved, be it drama or sometimes even comedy, in this case I remembered some of my favorite avengers such as The Crow, John Wick or Batman himself, but these without figures that do not come close to what you An ordinary citizen could do when adverse circumstances destroy their life, that is, before misfortune, ordinary beings do not take revenge as a first option, but on the other hand I think that anyone could feel empathy for a character like the protagonist of Assault on Wall Street, that's why I chose this as my favorite movie.
The context of the film is based on a real event, but obviously the protagonists are fictional just like their actions, it is a man who works as a security guard for armored trucks that transport money to banks, he served in the army and therefore his training allows him to carry out his work well, he has a wife who is in the fight to overcome cancer, the medical bills are large but he believes he can afford them with his medical insurance and his savings that are in a fund investment.
The great problem of the protagonist, in addition to the struggle to improve his wife's health, is that the US economy falls into crisis, the stock market falls when many real estate investment agencies cannot sustain themselves, a chain effect known as the bubble is formed. real estate and also the crisis of non-funded loans, agencies seek small investors to cover a debt acquired by them, civil lawsuits are unsuccessful when banks and agencies declare bankruptcy, because they cannot exercise an effective claim by declaring bankruptcy, I am not a citizen of that country to understand some things closely, but something happened that was a triumph for the big fish in the economy but that ended up impoverishing small investors, that is, ordinary citizens that they had entrusted their savings to stockbrokers and banks, that is, the government allocated a very large amount of money from the federal reserve to save the agencies and the banks and consequently the common people lost.
Just imagine that situation, the protagonist loses everything, he cannot sue the investment agency that made him lose his money, he pays lawyers with borrowed money, he must give up his initial investment to avoid paying the debt and interest acquired , this poor man can't take it anymore and his wife can't stand the situation, he loses his wife in a terrible way, the security company where he works fires him because they can't have a person with such huge debts taking care of armored trucks full of money and As if that were not enough, they repossess the house.
You will think that I am only talking about a drama movie, but everything changes course, an ordinary person could equally have fallen into despair, but the protagonist is a former military man so I look for a way to take revenge, that is how he decides mount the hunt for the big heads of wall street and finish them off, the peak moment is when he storms the building where the head of the strategy who took his money and his life is located.
Of course there are many bullets and grenades involved until he manages to be face to face with the economist and talk before wanting to kill him, I don't want to say the end but the outcome is nerves. This film caused a lot of controversy in its premiere year in 2013, because as everyone knows it deals with a real social issue and raises the imaginary that a person takes revenge for all the people who lost everything in the economic crisis of 2008, where the powerful did not they stopped to think about the consequences to the citizens, although in a certain way justice is not done because the system remained the same, the message was clear, as the Joker said in 2019 when society treats its people badly they get what it deserves, it is a matter of mental health to be able to cope with loss without resorting to revenge, but as always every good movie makes one think, in my case I think that this revenge did not do justice, but perhaps human beings do not lose our minds when everything falls apart, life should be kinder but these economic policies in the world are as cruel as the cold-blooded murders committed by the protagonist.
