Saludos amantes del Cine, el concurso de CineTV esta semana trata del agua, así que de inmediato supe que película escogería para mi publicación, es una de mis favoritas y no había tenido la oportunidad de escribir sobre esta espero les guste. The shape of water (2017)
Esta es una película de fantasía dirigida por el grandioso Guillermo del Toro, esta ambientada en los años 60 en Estados unidos, especialmente en Baltimore, la protagonista es Elisa una mujer que es muda, porque fue encontrada con unas marcas en el cuello cuando era niña, ella trabaja como limpiadora en un laboratorio del gobierno, allí es ese lugar tienen cautivo a una criatura acuática muy peculiar, parece un hombre pez, es decir tiene tanto características de humano como de animal acuático, el objetivo de los científicos es lograr descubrir algo importante de la criatura, pues en esos años se viven situaciones tensas con el gobierno ruso, sin embargo algunos de los involucrados dicen que deben abrir a la criatura para descubrir más cosas, pero mientras la criatura vive aún en el estanque es visitado de forma constante por Elisa quien va tomándole cariño.
This is a fantasy film directed by the great Guillermo del Toro, it is set in the 60s in the United States, especially in Baltimore, the protagonist is Elisa, a woman who is mute, because she was found with some marks on her neck when she was a child , she works as a cleaner in a government laboratory, that is where they have a very peculiar aquatic creature captive, it looks like a fish man, that is, it has both human and aquatic animal characteristics, the objective of scientists is to discover something importance of the creature, because in those years there are tense situations with the Russian government, however some of those involved say that they should open the creature to discover more things, but while the creature still lives in the pond it is constantly visited for Elisa who is taking care of him.
Me gusta mucho que a pesar de que Elisa es muda puede comunicarse por señas, pero además por estar toda su vida acostumbrada a comunicarse de manera no verbal le permite establecer comunicación efectiva con al criatura del estanque, me parece muy genial que hasta ella le da huevo para que la criatura coma, ella se siente cada vez más cercana a la criatura, pero un día descubre que los científicos por órdenes superiores quieren matar a la criatura así que ella idea un plan para sacarlo a él de allí, para esto necesitó la ayuda de una amiga y un amigo cercano.
I really like that despite the fact that Elisa is mute, she can communicate by signs, but also because she has been used to communicating non-verbally all her life, it allows her to establish effective communication with the creature in the pond. I think it's great that even she gives egg for the creature to eat, she feels closer to the creature, but one day she discovers that the scientists by superior orders want to kill the creature so she devises a plan to get him out of there, for this she needed the help of a friend and a close friend.
La idea inicial de Elisa era liberar a la criatura, pero mientras tanto lo tiene en la bañera de su casa y forma una relación con este. Una vez que la coss se complican decide liberarlo en un canal cuando hay tormenta para que el sea libre en el agua que es donde siempre debió estar, pero las cosas no salen como se supone debían ser. No quiero contarles el final, pero entre los rasgos más peculiares de la criatura acuática es que este hombre tiene sentimientos, ama a Elisa, él además tiene capacidades increíbles de curación, es una criatura que puede curar pero al mismo tiempo es muy vulnerable fuera del agua, así que no puede vivir en el exterior con los humanos.
Elisa's initial idea was to free the creature, but in the meantime she has it in the bathtub of her house and forms a relationship with it. Once things get complicated, she decides to release him in a canal when there is a storm so that he can be free in the water, which is where she should always have been, but things don't work out the way they're supposed to. I don't want to tell you the end, but among the most peculiar traits of the aquatic creature is that this man has feelings, he loves Elisa, he also has incredible healing abilities, he is a creature that can heal but at the same time is very vulnerable outside the water, so it can't live outside with humans.
El mundo marino es increíblemente diverso, aún en la actualidad no se conoce totalmente a las especies en ñas profundidades marinas, no estoy diciendo que este hombre pez pueda existir, pero lo que digo es que es muy poco lo que la humanidad conoce, un ejemplo de esto son las ballenas, quienes tienen sus propios lenguajes, sus costumbres y cultura que transmiten de generación en generación y aún cuando puedan ser de una misma especie por ubicarse en zonas distintas pueden tener lengua diferente y estilo de caza adaptados, pero lo que algunos no deben es que las ballenas son mamíferos que una vez que evolucionaron como terrestres en un momento de su historia evolutiva decidieron volver al mar y de este modo modificar su cuerpo al entorno acuático pero sin dejar de ser mamíferos, entonces imaginen las posibilidades evolutivas que podrían pasar en miles o millones de años si de pronto los seres humanos volviéramos a un entorno acuático, seremos capaces de desarrollar mecanismos para el nado o para la respiración bajo el agua (algo parecido al protagonista de Waterworld), una vez leí que en cierta parte del mundo una tribu de personas era la única en el mundo capaz de soportar sin respirar debajo del agua, esto se debe a sus costumbres de buscar sustento debajo el mar. Películas como la forma de agua me hace pensar mucho en la evolución de los seres vivos y de como el mar podría tener miles de especies que aún no son descubiertas.
The marine world is incredibly diverse, even today the species in the deep sea are not fully known, I am not saying that this fish man can exist, but what I am saying is that humanity knows very little, an example of this are the whales, who have their own languages, their customs and culture that they transmit from generation to generation and even when they may be of the same species because they are located in different areas, they may have a different language and adapted hunting style, but what some they shouldn't is that whales are mammals that once they evolved as terrestrial at one point in their evolutionary history decided to return to the sea and thus modify their body to the aquatic environment but without ceasing to be mammals, then imagine the evolutionary possibilities that could happen in thousands or millions of years if we human beings suddenly return to an aquatic environment, we will be able to develop mechanisms for swimming or breathing underwater (something similar to the protagonist of Waterworld), once I read that in a certain part of the world a tribe of people was the only one in the world capable of supporting without breathing underwater, this is due to their customs of seeking sustenance under the sea. Movies like the shape of water make me think a lot about the evolution of living beings and how the sea could have thousands of species that have not yet been discovered.
La película la forma del agua más allá de tocar un temática de romance y fantasía, creo que trata el tema del respeto que deberían tener los seres humano hacia otras especies, de como la investigación científica no debería cruzar ciertos límites, no es sólo sobre un ser acuático con características humanas. Creo que la imaginación puede quedarse corta si la comparamos con la realidad, además que el mar es inmenso y nunca sabremos lo que realmente hay allí.
The film The Shape of Water, beyond touching on a theme of romance and fantasy, I think it deals with the issue of respect that human beings should have towards other species, of how scientific research should not cross certain limits, it is not just about a being aquatic with human characteristics. I think that the imagination can fall short if we compare it with reality, besides that the sea is immense and we will never know what is really there.
