Synopsis Extraordinary Attorney Woo is a Korean drama that just finished its last episode last week. This Korean drama tells the story of a novice female lawyer who is the best graduate with the highest lawyer score from the best law college in South Korea. Despite having the best grades and qualifications, it is difficult for Woo Young-woo to get a job as a lawyer because he has an autism spectrum disorder.
Woo Young-woo's life begins to change, when he gets a job as a lawyer at Hanbada Law Firm through his father's connection with the CEO of Hanbada Law Firm. Woo Young-woo and two other rookie lawyers, Choi Su-yeon and Kwon Min-woo, go through various criminal and civil cases under the guidance of senior lawyer Jung Myeong-seok. During his career as a lawyer at Hanbada, Woo Young-woo also met and interacted with Lee Jun-ho, a field worker at Hanbada Law Firm who listened to all the chatter and had feelings for him. The special Woo Young-woo who also has difficulty interacting with new people, he finds friendship, love, struggles and legal and political intrigues that he never learned in law school.
Another Superior Autism Drama A drama about a genius and special autism person once won the hearts of the audience through a Korean medical drama entitled Good Doctor. Even the success of Good Doctor was adapted in various countries with the same title and premise. This time, Extraordinary Attorney Woo is trying to do the same thing, and I think he can match that. Extraordinary Attorney Woo features an autism attorney who is a genius and knows all the laws and regulations he's ever read.
Initially, the first two episodes of Extraordinary Attorney Woo received a lot of positive responses but also criticism from Korean people who thought that they recognized and romanticized autism, because in real life not all people with autism are geniuses. The criticism began to disappear, when the 3rd episode of this drama featured the character Peng-So, an adult who became a suspect in the murder of his own sister. Peng-So is said to have autism, difficulty speaking and thinking like a child. From the characters of Peng-So and Wo Young-Woo, we learn about the various cases of the autism spectrum.

However, Extraordinary Attorney Woo presents it in a lighter, relaxed but still serious manner and we can understand easily. Several times, Woo Young-woo was faced with the situation of having to defend a suspect who was guilty but was able to afford a lawyer from Hanbada Law Firm, a company that committed legal wrongdoing, etc.
These young lawyers are faced with a difficult situation, they are at a crossroads between upholding the law but harming the office or doing their job but against their conscience. In addition, we can watch conflicts of interest and politics that often intersect with the legal world in this drama.
