In this psychological suspense thriller, we follow Frances, a young woman who finds a lost purse on the subway and decides to return it to its owner, Greta, a charming and lonely widow who appears to be a kindly older woman in search of companionship.

However, as Frances befriends Greta, she begins to discover that this woman has a dark and disturbing side that leads her to cross the boundaries of sanity and obsession.

What seemed like an innocent gesture of friendship turns into a nightmare when Frances realizes that Greta is not who she says she is and that her intentions are far more sinister than she imagined.

With captivating performances by Isabelle Huppert and Chloë Grace Moretz, “Greta” plunges us into a cat-and-mouse game full of suspense, paranoia and unexpected twists and turns that will keep the viewer on edge until the very last moment.

Through an unsettling atmosphere, a tense narrative and intense psychological conflict, the film takes us on a journey full of intrigue, danger and suspense that challenges our perceptions of friendship, trust and the limits of morality.

Isabelle Huppert was nominated for a Golden Globe for her nuanced portrayal of the mysterious title character.

Commercially, Greta grossed $43 million worldwide on a modest budget, showing great interest for its twisted premise.

Although it didn't win an Oscar, Huppert's Globe nomination was a reminder of her mastery of ambiguity and implied menace.
