World War Z is an epic zombie film from director Juan Antonio Bayona that demonstrates why the genre continues to captivate audiences.

Starring an intense Brad Pitt, it chronicles the struggle of a former UN researcher to stop a zombie pandemic that threatens to wipe out humanity.

What begins as isolated outbreaks quickly escalates into an apocalyptic avalanche on a global scale.

With terrifying sequences of masses of infected, Bayona manages to convey human frailty in the face of a massive threat. And while the action scenes are intense, it is the desperation of those desperately seeking to save their loved ones that is most moving.

Fast-paced and lavishly produced, World War Z is pure entertainment at its best, but as well as being jaw-droppingly spectacular, it strikes a chord by reminding us how fragile our existence is.

A blockbuster that sets new standards in the genre, undoubtedly one of the best films of the year.

It was an ok movie, but the ending was really disappointing; obviously a Brad Pitt vehicle. On the other hand, I read once that this is Mr. Pitt’s highest grossing movie ever, and it is also the highest grossing zombie movie ever.
