Hola amigos de Hive, aprovechando que es noche de Halloween, y que continuo en cuarentena en cuanto a cualquier evento social, he decidido ver una película de terror para celebrar el Halloween, aunque de cualquier manera dudo que hubiese salido a celebrar, aun si no estuviese guardando cuarentena.

He decidido ver Jeepers Creepers, recomendada por mi amiga @chacald.dcymt, quien me aseguró que era bastante buena. Hace tiempo que había oído de esta saga de películas y a pesar de conocer muy bien la imagen de la criatura monstruosa nunca me había decidido a verla, o si la vi en algún momento no recordaba su trama en lo absoluto.

La primera entrega de Jeepers Creepers fue producida en 2001 en Estados Unidos, dirigida por Victor Salva y protagonizada por Gina Philips, Justin Long, y Jonathan Breck interpretando a la criatura The Creeper. Este film cuenta con 3 secuelas, Jeepers Creepers 2 de 2003, Jeepers Creepers 3 de 2017 y Jeepers Creepers: Reborn de 2021.

Esta película nos lleva a las carreteras del condado ficticio de Pertwilla, en donde hermano y hermana se encuentran viajando con motivo de sus vacaciones de verano, cuando repentinamente un camión antiguo a gran velocidad los sorprende por detrás y amenaza con llevárselos por delante, pero logran evadirlo y este sigue su camino, sin embargo, kilómetros más adelante observan al mismo camión estacionado cerca de una iglesia abandonada y algo inusual llama la atención de los chicos, por lo que una vez que se ha ido el camión deciden visitar dicho lugar, encontrándose con algo aterrador. Huyen de allí para notificar a la policía el hallazgo, pero una extraña y monstruosa criatura alada los acecha después de haber dejado evidencia de que estuvieron merodeando su guarida.

En este film destacan las escenas de suspenso, y diversas escenas resultan bastante grotescas, cada encuentro con The Creeper nos da la sensación de que nuestros protagonistas no lograrán escapar, pues se muestran bastante indefensos y desvalidos frente a un monstruo despiadado. Esta criatura me recuerda en primer lugar a Nemesis del videojuego Resident Evil 3, por la forma insistente en que acecha a las personas, además que tiene un ligero parecido. Y en segundo lugar, me hace pensar en las historias de El Hombre Polilla, una criatura que supuestamente fue avistada por primera vez en la década del 60 en algunas carreteras de Virginia, Estados Unidos y posteriormente fue avistado en distintas partes del mundo, pienso que The Creeper está inspirado en este ser al parecer extraterrestre, que se convirtió en toda una leyenda.

Jeepers Creepers es una película vale la pena ver, me ha gustado y seguramente me daré a la tarea de ver sus secuelas, ya que esta primera entrega tiene un final inconcluso pues prácticamente resulta vencedora.

Hi friends from Hive, due to the fact that it's Halloween night, and that I continue to be quarantined from any social events, I've decided to watch a horror movie to celebrate Halloween, although I doubt I would have gone out to celebrate even if I wasn't quarantined.

I decided to watch Jeepers Creepers recommended by my friend @chacald.dcymt, who assured me it was pretty good. I had heard of this movie saga a long time ago and despite knowing the image of the monstrous creature very well I had never decided to watch it or if I watched it at some moment I didn't remember its plot at all.

This film takes us to the roads of the fictional county of Pertwilla, where brother and sister are traveling on the occasion of their summer vacation, when suddenly an old truck at high speed surprises them from behind and threatens to take them ahead, but they manage to evade it and it continues on its way, however, miles ahead they observe the same truck parked near an abandoned church and something unusual catches the attention of the teenagers, so once the truck is gone they decide to visit that place, finding something terrifying. They flee from there to notify the police about what they have found, but a strange and monstrous winged creature stalks them after leaving evidence that they were lurking in its lair.

In this film the suspenseful scenes stand out, and several scenes are quite grotesque, each encounter with The Creeper gives us the feeling that our protagonists will not manage to escape, as they are quite helpless and defenseless against a ruthless monster. This creature reminds me first of all of Nemesis from the Resident Evil 3 video game, because of the insistent way it stalks people, plus it has a slight resemblance. And secondly it makes me think of the stories of The Mothman, a creature that was supposedly sighted for the first time in the 60's, in some roads of Virginia, United States and later was sighted in different parts of the world, I think that The Creeper is inspired by this apparently extraterrestrial being that became a legend.

Jeepers Creepers is a movie worth watching, I liked it and I will surely give myself the task of watching its sequels, since this first production has an inconclusive end because The Creeper wins.
