There are series you watch just to pass the time, and then there's *From*, which gets into your head, keeps you up at night, and turns into a total obsession. I'll confess, at first I was terrified to start it—those dark nights and monsters knocking on doors are no joke—but after a couple of episodes, I was completely hooked and couldn't stop watching.

To understand why it's so addictive, we have to look behind the scenes. The series carries John Griffin’s signature and features direction and production by Jack Bender and Jeff Pinkner, veterans of the legendary *Lost*. That heritage shows brilliantly. Everything kicks off with a brutal premise: a family and several travelers accidentally stumble into a US town from which it is physically impossible to escape. No matter what road you drive, you always end up turning around and coming back to the exact same spot. A geographical loop nobody leaves.

The town itself already gives off bad vibes, but the real terror begins when the sun goes down. At night, terrifying creatures come out that can adopt human faces and fake vulnerability just to get you to open the door. To survive, the residents depend on protective totems and absolute silence, turning every sunset into a heart-stopping countdown. By the way, I totally love the intro song! It's one of those melodies that grabs you and sets the perfect spooky mood before each episode.

What I like most is that the mystery works because you actually care about the people suffering through it. The acting performances are tremendous—led brilliantly by Harold Perrineau—and the human tension feels real. These aren't the typical flat horror movie characters; people clash, argue, keep secrets, and psychologically crack under the constant pressure of confinement.

Over its seasons, the series has kept up its quality, and right now—after that intense season 4 finale—it has me on the edge of my seat, totally anxious for the next season to drop. Meanwhile, I confess I've spent hours debating crazy theories and sharing hypotheses with friends about what this place actually means.
