Last week the series of the famous bounty hunter Boba Fett came to an end with chapter seven. Within the Star Wars universe there are infinite characters to which they could perfectly make a series or a movie but I thought that they have decided for Boba after his appearance in previous seasons of The Mandalorian was super successful because we are facing a character that is not so mediatic but within the history of the saga if you have an interesting story.
What happened with this series, in my opinion? - Well, many people came with very high expectations because of everything that Mando offered us and when they started to enjoy Boba's adventures they were not satisfied, fortunately this was not my case. From the first episode I knew it was not going to be the same because I assumed that they had to give us context of how, after having fallen into the bowels of that creature in the desert, he had survived to become what he was; which they did and it was quite enjoyable.
Briefly, who is Boba Fett? - a bounty hunter who full of revenge for the death of Jango Fett decides to take the Jedi as enemies. Seeing that his plan did not work, since he could not kill Windu, he was imprisoned and paradoxically gained reputation throughout the galaxy. The Empire is formed and that is when Boba begins to work for Jabba the Hutt to later be under the orders of Varth Vader.
He was responsible for freezing Han Solo in carbonite so that Boba is a good person, not so. On Tatooine there is a battle between Luke and his allies to rescue Solo and that is where Boba Fett falls into a "sarlcc" but survives. From that moment until the end of this series the story is the known.
Of the seven chapters of the series at least the first 3 or 4, I don't remember exactly, are a bit introspective as they take us to how Boba recovers his form and his abilities to be under the care of the Tusken, this tribe that lives in the desert. We see how Boba is creating a relationship with them which inevitably makes that in many parts the story slows down the pace but the interest is not lost, why? - Well, because the plot goes in two timelines and that characteristic in the series is one of the most striking to me.
Boba Fett continued in his thing with a story that spoke to us of wars, alliances and above all of much context to understand the amount of things that were happening, all that until chapter five arrives, chapter that changes ALL the series. It was the first chapter where Boba does not appear even for a minute and which curiously is the best rated of the entire series. Din Djarin makes an appearance in an episode that was very good but it was not enough to overshadow what the series had been offering.
Already if we talk about chapter 6 is talking about an ode to the Star Wars universe (If you haven't seen the series I think it's impossible that by now you haven't seen what characters appear). Seeing Luke, Ashoka, Grogu, Cad Bane and Mando himself in one chapter is probably one of the best things I've seen lately concerning Star Wars. But then, this was good? - For one the fan yes, no doubt but for the development of the series or the plot it was presenting, I don't know. And I don't know because I think that all the attention that the main character of the series had is completely lost, to the point that he ceases to be the protagonist and because clearly everything was a preview of what will be the third season of The Mandalorian, they showed us the way.
From these chapters onwards, there was no more talk about Boba Fett, the character, and the truth is that it was an overwhelming phenomenon because for several moments I felt like I was watching another series. The one where you saw a Boba battling with his memories and making deals with everyone had been forgotten so that in the day to day conversation was the endless theories about Luke with Grogu or the next step that Din Djarin was going to take.
In general terms the series seemed to me one of the best things that have been done and Jon Favreau is a total genius, the level of references throughout ALL the chapters is impressive and that is something that lovers of the franchise are grateful for. So to answer my initial question what you have to ask yourself is the following, once the series is over, what are you talking about, what did The Book of Boba Fett leave you with?

If the answers to those questions revolve around Mando or any other character, it is very likely that you think that what we saw was more of a sneak peek of what is to come with The Mandalorian. Personally, I do believe that what we saw was a The Mandalorian 2.5 and I liked Boba Fett's story, I don't want to say that I didn't enjoy it but it is true that at the end of the series there were many characters with stories that totally overshadowed our bounty hunter, it is something inevitable.
The level of attachment of the people towards Din Djarin is impressive, or is it towards Grogu, well either way they are characters that captivated the fans and that every time they are seen together they will touch a fiber that is very difficult to hide. I would have liked more depth with Boba Fett but it was not like that, I repeat it was not a bad series but I missed more depth than what was done in the first episodes. A solid 8/10 because if you are a Star Wars fan it is impossible not to like it even though Boba is not your favorite character.
