Hello again community! Everything ok? I hope so. We know that December is a special month because of the famous Christmas tradition it brings us, even more so when absolutely EVERYTHING revolves around this, TV, video games, street decorations and so on. And most of all on TV, when they show iconic movies referring to this tradition and although I already talked about my favorite Christmas movie, I also wanted to talk about another movie that I didn't even remember but at the same time was a wonderful memory of a Christmas past, let's talk about Arthur's Christmas.

I saw this movie in the cinema, more exactly in a movie theater that was near my house and unfortunately they closed it about 6 years ago, I saw it with my family and enjoyed every moment of it. After that I managed to watch it on TV, when they started to show it on HBO channels and after that, I do not remember seeing it again, as if it had disappeared, although I just found out that it is on Netflix. The truth is I had forgotten the existence of this movie until I started thinking about Christmas movies, I automatically thought of movies like My Poor Little Angel or The Grinch but I knew they were very popular movies and people would already talk about those, so thinking and trying to dust off movie memories I remembered this movie again, I don't understand how I could have forgotten it if I had always liked it, it's amazing.
We are taken to the story of another Christmas, in which we see the work of Santa (Jim Bradbent) and his elves delivering gifts to all the children at midnight, but the night changes its course after they realized that they were missing one more gift to a little girl. We meet Steve (Hugh Laurie) the older brother and the favorite to be the new Santa for the good job he does coordinating everyone to deliver all the gifts, also his younger brother Arthur (James McAvoy) who prefers more traditions and optimism at Christmas so he was given the job of reading and answering the letters sent, also Grandpa Santa (Bill Nighy) and Bryony (Ashley Jensen), essential in the story for being the only ones who decide to help Arthur.
When I saw this movie for the first time I was completely amazed by how each gift was delivered to the houses, just with the first scene I was completely hooked to the movie, and right now, watching that scene again, it is very impressive and creative the spy style that the elves have, as an example when they find a child awake and Santa was just in his room. While it's not a very important scene, the family dinner reminds me of the typical joke about playing Monopoly or something like that, I was always the one who wanted to play Monopoly while the others got bored and left little by little hahaha. Another scene I remember clearly is the panic around the world for having seen videos of Santa's sleigh in security cameras and things like that, I find this funny because in one of those scenes they decide to camouflage the sleigh as if it were an alien ship, so they get even more alert. Among the other things I like about this movie is the animation, the truth Sony Pictures Animation does not disappoint in this, the animation of the movie is quite cartoonish and reminds me a lot of Hotel Transylvania, another movie I like a lot. After remembering so much of this movie, for me the most interesting of all was the modern way that the movie has about Santa's sleigh, as a kid I must have imagined that the sleigh would actually be a giant ship that goes around the world with elves that help Santa hehe.
In conclusion it is a pretty good movie for the whole family that I highly recommend to those who like this kind of animated and entertaining movies, in its time I had liked too much and the truth if I made a top of Christmas movies in terms of personal opinion, this movie would be in the position No. 2 or 3. ¡Hola de nuevo comunidad! ¿Todo bien? Espero que sea así. Sabemos que diciembre es un mes especial por la famosa tradición navideña que nos trae, más aún cuando absolutamente TODO gira alrededor de esto, la tele, videojuegos, decoraciones en la calle y demás cosas. Y más que todo en la tele, cuando pasan películas icónicas referentes a esta tradición y si bien ya hablé de mi película favorita de navidad, quería hablar también de otra película que incluso no recordaba pero al mismo tiempo era un recuerdo maravilloso de una navidad pasada, hablemos de Operación Regalo.

Esta película la vi en el cine, más exactamente en un cine que quedaba cerca de mi casa y que desafortunadamente lo cerraron hace unos 6 años, la vi con mi familia y disfrute cada momento de ella. Luego de eso logré verla por la tele, cuando la empezaron a pasar por los canales HBO y luego de eso, no recuerdo haberla visto otra vez, como si hubiera desaparecido, aunque recién me entere que está en Netflix. La verdad había olvidado la existencia de esta película hasta que empecé a pensar en películas de navidad, automáticamente pensé en películas como Mi Pobre Angelito o El Grinch pero sabía que eran películas muy populares y las personas ya hablarían de esas, así que pensando e intentando desempolvar recuerdos de películas volví a recordar esta película, no entiendo cómo se me pudo haber olvidado si desde siempre me había gustado, es increíble.
Nos lleva a la historia de una navidad más, en la cual vemos el trabajo de Santa (Jim Bradbent) y sus elfos llevando regalos a todos los niños a medianoche, pero la noche cambia su rumbo luego de que se dieran cuenta que les faltaba entregar un regalo más a una niña. Conocemos a Steve (Hugh Laurie) el hermano mayor y el preferido para ser el nuevo Santa por el buen trabajo que hace coordinando a todos para entregar todos los regalos, también a su hermano menor Arthur (James McAvoy) el cual prefiere más las tradiciones y el optimismo en navidad por lo cual le dieron el trabajo de leer y responder las cartas enviadas, también al abuelo Santa (Bill Nighy) y a Bryony (Ashley Jensen), esenciales en la historia por ser los únicos que deciden ayudar a Arthur.
Cuando vi esta película por primera vez quede completamente sorprendido por cómo se entregaba cada regalo a las casas, nada más con la primera escena había quedado completamente enganchado a la película, y ahora mismo, volviendo a ver esa escena, es muy impresionante y creativo el estilo de espía que tienen los elfos, como ejemplo cuando encuentran a un niño despierto y justo Santa estaba en su cuarto. Si bien no es una escena muy importante, la cena en familia me recuerda al típico chiste acerca de jugar Monopoly o algo por el estilo, yo siempre era el que quería jugar Monopoly mientras que los demás se aburrían y se iban poco a poco jajaja. Otra de las escenas que recuerdo claramente es el pánico alrededor del mundo por haber visto videos del trineo de Santa en cámaras de seguridad y cosas por el estilo, me causa gracia esto ya que en una de esas escenas deciden camuflar al trineo como si fuera una nave alienígena, por lo cual se alertan mucho más aún. Entre las otras cosas que me gustan de esta película es la animación, la verdad Sony Pictures Animation no decepciona en esto, la animación de la película es bastante caricaturesca y me recuerda bastante a Hotel Transilvania, otra película que aprecio bastante. Luego de recordar tanto de esta película, para mí lo más interesante de todo fue la manera moderna que tiene la película acerca del trineo de Santa, de niño debí imaginar que el trineo seria en realidad una nave gigante que va alrededor del mundo con elfos que ayudan a Santa jeje.
En conclusión es una película bastante buena para toda la familia que recomiendo bastante a los que le guste este tipo de películas animadas y entretenidas, en su tiempo me había gustado demasiado y la verdad si hiciera un top de películas navideñas en cuanto a opinión personal, esta película estaría en el puesto nº2 o 3.
