  1. Arthur Christmas (2011) Review: another good modern Christmas movie.@richardalexis1698d
    [Source](https://www.sensacine.com/peliculas/pelicula-146132/) ![Separador.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/richardalexis/EqhRhnwC7FN8LnqwGCnxjoUKASHetSBkzydwiiN4oVUvh6d2XEHD5BsFihcmD8vcEiY.png)

A few days ago I wrote a short review where I praised "Klaus", a fairly recent film that knew how to capture the essence of Christmas very well with a simple and innovative story that used a unique animation style. In that same post I mention that for me lately there have not been many Christmas movies that are really good so the list of classics has been stagnant in time.

    [Source](https://bestflix.es/pelicula/arthur-christmas-operacion-regalo-70202138)

The latter is not entirely true, since I ignored another relatively recent piece of animation that through a slightly more comedic and less romantic angle that Klaus manages to give us a pretty funny story.

Arthur Christmas is a 2011 film, directed by Sarah Smith and starring James McAvoy, Hugh Laurie and Jim Broadbent that starts with a very interesting premise: How complicated must it be in logistical terms for Santa Claus to distribute gifts to all the children of the world in just one night?

    [Source](https://www.elseptimoarte.net/foro/index.php?topic=20724.0)

In this way, Arthur Christmas mixes comedy and humor with light action elements that seek to explain this phenomenon in a more or less rational way, creating an interesting lore that he would like to be explored in other future stories.

For most of the time we follow Arthur, a clumsy young man who is dedicated to answering the letters sent to Santa (whose mantle is currently held by Malcom, his father).

Meanwhile, the entire operation of delivering gifts to children around the world is left to Steve, Malcolm's eldest son and who will likely succeed him, a skilled and confident man who has adapted to modern times and has perfected the system of production and delivery of gifts.

    [Source](https://cineciutat.org/es/pelicula/arthur-christmas-operacion-regalo)

The main conflict of the film arises when after finishing this year's operation, Arthur realizes that one of the Polish men ran out of gift, so he embarks on a mission to try to give it to that girl even against his will. of Steve and his father Malcom.

The appeal of Arthur Christmas is in the ingenious way in which we are shown how all the elves deliver all the toys each year, as well as the idea of "Santa" being a quasi-administrative position that has used technological advances to its advantage to alleviate the weight of your work.

Arthur Christmas faces both in terms of aesthetics and substance the clash between evolution and traditions that are left behind, constantly questioning what is the true purpose of Christmas and the essence of Santa Claus.

    [Source](http://www.lacabecita.com/2011/12/critica-arthur-christmas-operacion-regalo/)

Is Santa the sleighs, the bells and the reindeer lifting it up with Magic? Is it about the gifts? Is it about children's happiness? All these questions are answered in Arthur Christmas without the need to align anyone, organically mixing the most serious and mature elements of him with the most innocent angle of him.

While his animation style is nothing to write home about (we could even say he falls into the generic) Arthur Christmas is a solid modern classic that deserves a viewing once a year.

    [Source](https://bestflix.es/pelicula/arthur-christmas-operacion-regalo-70202138)

    [Source](https://www.elseptimoarte.net/foro/index.php?topic=20724.0)

    [Source](https://cineciutat.org/es/pelicula/arthur-christmas-operacion-regalo)

    [Source](http://www.lacabecita.com/2011/12/critica-arthur-christmas-operacion-regalo/)

  2. Arthur Christmas (2011), Gift operation.- Review and teaching@celi1302085d

Christmas is approaching, television programs are related to that, where in each film he shows us the magic and the meaning of Christmas. Well today I had the opportunity to see the first Christmas movie with my little girl, this one was released in 2011.

    Review

This film begins with the delivery of Christmas gifts by Santa Claus and the elves, but at this time they use great technologies to reach each of the children and without being seen all in one night. The North Pole Toy Factory also uses cutting edge technology to create and wrap each toy.

    Source

In the north pole where the Claus family live, the grandfather, the father, the mother and the two brothers. Santa is now at retirement age, his place will be taken by his older brother and Arthur is in charge of reading each of the letters he sends to Santa. One day Arthur stops to read that of a girl a girl named Wen asks Santa for a bicycle, she tells him that she knows it is real even though her friends make fun of her because she believes that Santa, her mother he works hard and the money is not enough. Each letter that he reads responds and specifies that Santa does exist and will receive the promised gift.

    Source

But in the gift deliveries there was an error that gift was not delivered Arthur realizes and tries to talk with her father to which the older brother says that she can no longer go out to complete that mission, to which she does everything possible to deliver the gift asks her grandfather for help, excitedly helps her but looks for the old sleigh, one of the elves embarks on this great adventure, but where they endanger her to be seen and what for years has been hidden by a gift is discovered.

    Analysis

This story details the magic of how Santa delivers each of his gifts in one night, apart from being fun, it also leaves a lesson that we must take into account.

    • Each person is important: Each and everyone is important, we have our value, in this film we see how Arthur does the impossible to bring a gift to a girl, despite being the only girl missing to deliver it. She knows that the meaning of that gift for that girl is important and the meaning of Christmas is to believe in magic and love. • Despite having great technology, it can make mistakes: In life sometimes we believe that it is because it is a computer, or a state-of-the-art technology cannot see margin for error. In this film we could observe how the great technology that it has to deliver gifts had a margin of error, leaving the poor girl without his gift. • Family union is important: I always detail in each film analysis this great topic as the importance of family union are important elements in the nucleus of society. In this film we see when the Claus family was united they were able to deliver the gift, Arthur for knowing and knowing the meaning of the magic of Christmas remains as the new Santa. • The best thing about Christmas is the smile: When we are children or today we see our children see those gifts under the tree, our greatest rewards is to see those smiles and happiness that they give when seeing each gift that Santa gave them under the tree. At the end of the movie we see how Arthur makes her father and brother stay to see the joy of the girl with her gift, when even Santa Claus had forgotten that part.

  4. "Arthur Christmas" by Sarah Smith and Barry Cook - review@godflesh2867d

I am a great fan of "Aardman" and especially of their stop-motion animations ("Chicken Run " is one of my favorite films), but I quite successfully overlooked their other project "Arthur Christmas"- I did not even play a trailer - first because it was computer animation and secondly, because his ads looked terrible. As a matter of fact, I did not intend to watch it in the cinema, but in a nutshell I found myself in the screening for journalists and decided to try. After all, it would not be the first blunt movie I'll watch. But to my enormous surprise and joy, "Arthur Christmas" turned out to be a truly original and extremely entertaining Christmas tale with the so special spirit that so many films are trying to recreate, but they are a bit unsuccessful.

    MV5BODE5NTk2OTI0Nl5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNzU5NDM3Ng@@.V1_SY1000_CR0,0,674,1000_AL.jpg

I will not go into the details of the story, I will only say that it includes the apathetic and tired of everything but refusing to retire Santa Claus, the eldest son (responsible for the incredibly complex logistics around the gift distribution) his father (the old Christmas, eternally opposed to the lost "old" spirit of Christmas and mocking of the complex situation within the family) wanting another last chance to get involved in the game, his youngest and most awkward son Arthur (working in the backs Department of Sorting Letters), who it only wants all children in the world to be satisfied, and last, but not least, a bothered-packed elf. And what blows the already frozen situation between them and threatens to destroy the "Christmas idea" turns out to be a single forgotten gift.

One of my greatest problems with the movie - before I watched it - was the whole point with the elf's "army" or, in other words, the secret services of the title. The whole idea just did not seem to be enough original. In the movie, however, this subject is only affected at first, with a wink at the genre, presented with a wonderful sense of humor. Besides, all this ... mechanization or militarization is a necessary counterpoint to everything that will follow. And if you've seen at least one Christmas movie, then you know what it is like. This was also part of my worries. Fortunately, all the "Christmas Spirit" and "Every Child Is Important" annoyance and "Every person has their place in the family and the big picture" is presented in an interesting, fun and exciting way allowing the characters - which remain slightly underdeveloped - to be wholehearted, engaging and plausible.

    MV5BMTc5NzY3NTIzNF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwODU5NDM3Ng@@.V1_SX1777_CR0,0,1777,964_AL.jpg

When I think about it, the only negative thing I can say about "Arthur Christmas" is the title and not because it's not made like people, but because we do not have the opportunity to hear in the original the voices of James McAvoy, Hugh Lori. Let me say that the likelihood of the world having a real Santa is bigger than having a dubbing to fit these voices. Well, yes, I thought of another minus, but it's not related to the movie itself. In its beginning, viewers will have the "happiness" to see Justin Bieber's latest three-dimensional clip. This mixes the genres of Christmas animation and horror! For the final, I want to hurtle once more that "Arthur Christmas" is a fresh and fun animated film that will appeal to both small and large. I courageously recommend it.
