You know how much I love seeing Samara Weaving covered in blood, running for her life, surviving on the edge, and a few days ago I finally got to see Borderline. I hadn't had time to see Over Your Dead Body or Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, two of her films, but I was really looking forward to them. By the way, there's a movie called Caroline Caroline, which apparently hasn't been released in my area, so I'll have to wait to see another Samara Weaving film.

This time, Borderline is quite a strange movie. It's a mix of genres that sometimes left me a little disoriented, especially at the beginning. As the movie progressed, I started to understand the story and appreciate the humor, and that's how I ended up enjoying it. A lot of crazy things happen in this story, some funnier than others, but the ones I enjoyed the most were some of the gory scenes.

The story takes place in the 90s and revolves around Paul, a completely unhinged man, and his obsession with a pop star named Sofia Minor. She's a famous star, and he's a complete loser. His fixation on her, whom he wants to marry, leads him to commit a series of hilarious and somewhat bloody acts.

He won't be alone; he'll be accompanied by a couple of lunatics like himself. Calhoun, his friend, is very strong, not very bright, and has terrible aim. And then there's Penny, a character I loved because she stars in a couple of grotesque and quite disturbing gore scenes. Penny is played by the actress Alba Baptista. I didn't know who she was, so I looked her up and discovered she's a Portuguese actress. I think she has potential in the horror genre. She has a small role in the film Mother Mary, so I hope she gets more work in Hollywood.

The other actor with significant screen time, playing the deranged stalker, is Ray Nicholson, Jack Nicholson's son. He follows in his father's footsteps, bearing a striking resemblance to the teenager with the same unsettling smile. These unhinged roles suit him perfectly. It's a very theatrical character, full of humor and madness, and the actor shines in his role. He and the Portuguese woman are the funniest characters in the film.

Of course, Samara Weaving does what she does best: run, fight, kill, jump, and end up covered in blood, though not quite as much as in some of her other films. While the story isn't entirely well-developed and there are details that betray its low budget, it's still entertaining.

It's not a film to analyze in depth; just watch it to pass the time. The cast is what makes it work. Look for it on your streaming platform and tell me what you think.

Por supuesto, Samara Weaving hace lo que mejor sabe hacer: correr, pelear, matar, saltar y acabar cubierta de sangre, aunque no tanto como en otras de sus películas. Si bien la historia no está del todo bien desarrollada y hay detalles que evidencian su bajo presupuesto, sigue siendo entretenida.
