This isn't a bad film, not a brilliant film, worth watching for Angelina. The story seems to be a modernised/updated version of sleeping beauty. The actors generally do a pretty good job, and it does have a lot of very well done special effects. I think if they had called it something else it may have done better at the cinema as it had enough to do better, didn't seem to be in the cinemas for long. It is worth seeing at home, may have had a different view if I had paid cinema prices to see it.
Here we have a young woman, Maleficent who becomes cold hearted when she is betrayed. This sets her on a path of revenge and while she successfully defended the land before she was betrayed the kings successor is looking to invade. Hence she places a curse on his infant, whom of course is innocent. The child Aurora, grows to become a kind young girl and Maleficent suspects that Aurora could be the one to bring the kingdoms together in peace.
