CBS has merged comedy with Star Trek and animation in this new TV show.
It takes place aboard the Federation ship, USS Cerritos.
It feels most like Star Trek: The Next Generation with an almost Simpsons type of sarcastic self-ridicule sense of humor.
The Holodeck was always an interesting adventure and I'm looking forward to seeing how the show will use it.
The main characters are losers and the least important people on the ship. The dude with purple hair dreams of being a Captain. The science officer with green skin is a total nerd and Mariner is the badass who defies authority.
I wasn't really sure how I felt after watching the first episode. It didn't really make me laugh, but I still watched the second one immediately.
The last time they made an animated Star Trek was in 1973.

I'm predicting that a lot of die-hard Star Trek fans are going to hate this show. It will only have two seasons. What do you guys think?
