Hello everyone! I hope you are feeling great today! I want to tell you about my experience, and my opinions about an anime that really surprised me when I saw it. It is an anime from last year and it was one of the anime that I liked the most last year, today I will talk about Ranking of Kings or also known as Ousama Ranking! The visual style may look like a children's series, at first I was not looking forward to it, I thought it would be a generic fantasy story. But thank goodness I learned not to judge a book by its cover... this anime is living proof that looks can be deceiving.
In this series we meet Bojji, a prince who is deaf and dumb and seems rather weak. He dreams of becoming the best king... something that may sound a bit typical, but the way in which the execution is given is what makes this series really shine. I was hooked with the first few episodes, because of the way this story tackles complex issues such as disability, prejudice and perseverance.... The character design is very adorable, with a style very reminiscent of the classic Studio Ghibli style. However, even though the appearance seems childish, nor are they fooled... this anime shows a sometimes cruel and nuanced world. I was very pleasantly surprised by how the series strikes a perfect balance between touching moments and dark, tragic situations.

Hola a todos! Espero se encuentren genial el día de hoy! Quiero comentarles mi experiencia, y mis opiniones de un anime que realmente me sorprendió al momento de verlo. Es un anime del año pasado y fue uno de los que más me gustaron del anterior año, hoy les hablare de Ranking of Kings o también conocido como Ousama Ranking! El estilo visual puede parecer de una serie infantil, yo al principio no tenía muchas ganas, pensé que sería una historia genérica de fantasía. Pero menos mal aprendí a no juzgar un libro por su portada.. este anime es la prueba viviente de que las apariencias engañan.
En esta serie conoceremos a Bojji, un príncipe que es sordomudo y que parece bastante débil. Él sueña con convertirse en el mejor rey.. algo que puede sonar un poco típico, pero la manera en la que se da la ejecución es lo que hace brillar mucho a esta serie. Yo quedé enganchado con los primeros episodios, por la forma en la que esta historia aborda temas complejos cómo la discapacidad, el prejuicio y la perseverancia.. El diseño de personajes es muy adorable, con un estilo que recuerda mucho el estilo clásico del estudio Ghibli. Sin embargo, aunque la apariencia parezca infantil, ni se dejan engañar.. este anime muestra un mundo a veces cruel y lleno de matices. Me sorprendió muy gratamente como la serie logra un equilibrio perfecto entre momentos conmovedores y situaciones oscuras y trágicas.

Our protagonist is simply charming. His determination and kindness in spite of adversity made me feel very proud more than once... And what to say about Kage, Bojji's faithful friend, the relationship of these two I think is what I liked the most of the series. It's full of moments that will surely bring tears to some people's eyes. The animation, courtesy of Wit Studios, is amazing...the backgrounds give a unique and artistic touch to each scene. The action sequences, while not too many, are masterfully executed and animated.
But I really loved how they managed to convey all those emotions through more character expressions, especially considering Bojji can't talk. The plot is very good, and goes way beyond something typical fantasy, there are a lot of twists I didn't see coming... and they turn out to be very interesting. The way the series handles the conflicts is very entertaining, there are no good guys or bad guys, and that makes everyone draw their own conclusions and that gives a lot of depth to the characters.

Nuestro protagonista es simplemente encantador. Su determinación y bondad a pesar de las adversidades me hicieron sentir mucho orgullo en más de una ocasión.. Y que decir sobre Kage, el fiel amigo de Bojji, la relación de estos dos creo que es lo que más me gustó de la serie. Está llena de momentos que seguramente le sacarán lágrimas a algunos. La animación, cortesía de Wit Studios, es increíble.. los fondos le dan un toque único y artístico a cada escena. Las secuencias de acción, aunque no son demasiadas, están magistralmente ejecutadas y animadas.
Pero me encantó mucho como lograron transmitir todas esas emociones a través de más expresiones de los personajes, especialmente considerando que Bojji no puede hablar. La trama es muy buena, y va mucho más allá de algo típico de fantasía, hay muchos giros que no ví venir.. y que resultan muy interesantes. La forma en como la serie maneja los conflictos es muy entretenida, no hay buenos ni malos, y eso hace que cada uno saque sus propias conclusiones y eso le da mucha profundidad a los personajes.

The whole world of this anime is very solid, and it's interesting how we learn about it little by little. The concept of the ranking of kings, adds a very interesting dynamic to the plot. Also, the series doesn't just stick to the typical fantasy races, but introduces some unique creatures and abilities that keep the fantasy aspect fresh. And of course, as expected, the soundtrack is perfect. The Openings are very good, especially the second one are super emotional and cute, the lyrics are very good, I advise you to listen to the songs with their respective translation.
The music in this anime elevates a lot the moments of great tension... it gives you chills sometimes. If I had to point out a negative point... I would say that some episodes are a little slow, and I don't know, it feels like it loses the previous rhythm... The message of this anime is very good. The series teaches you important things like overcoming, not judging, the importance of kindness, and friendship. It does all this without falling into the classic clichés or super simplistic morals.

Todo el mundo de este anime es muy sólido, y es interesante como vamos sabiendo de él poco a poco. El concepto del ranking de reyes, añade una dinámica muy interesante a la trama. Además, la serie no solo se limita a las razas fantásticas típicas, sino que introduce algunas criaturas y habilidades únicas que mantienen fresco el aspecto de fantasía. Y claro, como era de esperarse, la banda sonora es perfecta. Los Openings son muy buenos, sobre todo el segundo son super emotivos y lindos, las líricas son muy buenas, les aconsejo escuchar las canciones con su respectiva traducción.
La música en este anime eleva mucho los momentos de mucha tensión.. te provoca escalofríos a veces. Si tuviera que señalar algún punto negativo.. diría que algunos episodios son un poco lentos, y no se, se siente que se pierde el ritmo anterior.. El mensaje de este anime es muy bueno. La serie te enseña cosas importantes como la superación, el no juzgar, la importancia de la bondad, y la amistad. Hace todo esto sin caer en los clásicos clichés o moralejas súper simplistas.

As for the supporting characters, everyone gets their time to shine, from Queen Hilling, to the mysterious Despa. Even the antagonists have understandable motivations...which makes them much more interesting and not empty villains. It's a series that will definitely make you laugh and cry.. its reflections are very good, the whole communication theme was very good. The way Bojji manages to make himself understood, despite not speaking, is really witty. It was nice to see how other characters struggle to learn to communicate with him, showing how language barriers can be overcome with empathy. Also, each kingdom and main character has their own unique style surrounding them, related to their personality and origin... From large suits of armor to simpler outfits.
The series also does a great job of addressing the issue of power and how it can corrupt people. We see characters struggle against their own ambitions and how others stay true to their principles despite all odds. It is a very valuable lesson on the importance of integrity in leadership positions. Mainly, that is noticeable in the complicated family of the protagonist, this family is full of complexity and nuances.. showing how family love is not always simple or common.

En cuanto a los personajes secundarios, cada uno tiene su tiempo para brillar, desde la reina Hilling, hasta el misterioso Despa. Incluso los antagonistas tienen motivaciones comprensibles.. lo que hace que sea mucho más interesantes y no villanos vacíos. Es una serie que sin duda te hará reír y llorar.. sus reflexiones son muy buenas, todo el tema de la comunicación fue muy bueno. La forma en la que Bojji logra hacerse entender, a pesar de no hablar, es realmente ingeniosa. Fue muy lindo ver cómo otros personajes se esfuerzan por aprender a comunicarse con él, mostrando como las barreras del lenguaje pueden superarse con empatía. Además, cada reino y personaje principal, tiene su estilo único que lo rodea, relacionada a su personalidad y origen.. Desde grandes armaduras, y atuendos más sencillos..
La serie también hace un gran trabajo en abordar el tema del poder y como este puede corromper a las personas. Vemos personajes luchar contra sus propias ambiciones y como otros se mantienen fieles a sus principios a pesar de todas las dificultades. Es una lección muy valiosa sobre la importancia de la integridad en posiciones de liderazgo. Principalmente, eso se nota en la complicada familia del protagonista, esta familia está llena de complejidad y matices.. mostrando como el amor familiar no siempre es simple o común.

Although this series deals with serious themes, it knows when to lighten the tone with comic moments. These moments not only provide some relief, but also help develop the characters' personalities. As I said, there are moments when you think you know where the story is going, and they surprise you with a turn of events, showing us that true strength doesn't always come from physical power, but from determination and the ability to inspire others. It's a very powerful message that I hope will reach many people. If you are looking for an anime that touches your heart, surprises you and makes you think... look no further.
This anime is a gem that deserves a lot of attention... I give it a 9/10 rating. Don't be fooled by its childish appearance, this series has a lot to offer. It will certainly leave you smiling, and wanting to be a better person. And well, I hope you liked this review. Take care, see you soon!

Aunque está serie trata temas serios, sabe cuándo aligerar el tono con momentos cómicos. Estos momentos no solo proporcionan algún alivio, sino que también ayuda a desarrollar la personalidad de los personajes. Cómo decía, hay momentos en los que crees que sabes hacia donde va la historia, y te sorprenden con un giro de los acontecimientos, mostrándonos que la verdadera fuerza no siempre viene del poder físico, sino de la determinación y ls capacidad para inspirar a otros. Es un mensaje muy poderoso que espero llegué a muchas personas. Si están buscando un anime que les toque el corazón, los sorprenda y los haga reflexionar.. no busquen más.
Este anime es una joya que merece mucha atención.. le doy uns calificación de 9/10. No sé dejen engañar por su apariencia infantil, esta serie tiene mucho que ofrecer.
