Noblesse is a webtoon written by Son Jeho and illustrated by Lee Kwangsu. It was among the first webtoons to receive an English translation at the launch of Line Webtoon in July 2014. It has been adapted into two original video animations in 2015 and 2016.
Plot
Noblesse is about a powerful noble - Cadis Etrama Di Raizel (referred to as Rai) - who has been asleep for 820 years with no knowledge of mankind's advancement and scientific successes. At the start of the webtoon, Rai wakes up in an abandoned building in South Korea, and starts to get used to the modern world. He goes to a school, where he reunites with his loyal servant Frankenstein. With Frankenstein's help, Rai enrolls into high school and inadvertently befriends athletic teenager Shinwoo, computer geek Ikhan, and Shinwoo's crush Yuna, and a few others. Noblesse follows the group's often dangerous adventures against a secret organization while uncovering Rai's past.

Thoughts
While Noblesse might feel like another stereotype of a vampire story, Noblesse is quite different. The Vampires in here don't suck and I mean that literally and figuratively. They do not need blood to survive and they can even walk under sunlight. Anyway, the story begins with Raizel waking up in his 820-year nap in an abandoned building. The world is now different from what he used to know. New technologies, new landscapes, new people, everything around him is different. While trying to get accustomed to this new world he is somehow reunited with his old servant Frankenstein, who is currently the principal of a high school. The first part of the story centers on Rai blending in with human civilization as a High School Student and his battles with technology like how to open an electornic door. While this is all fun to read, we are not here for that storyline.
We are then introduced to a mysterious organization known as the "Unions". The story will shift to a 360 at this point. We will meet werewolves, nobles, human lab rat experiments. We will see lots of fighting. So if you are one of those people who like action-packed scenes you will definitely love Noblesse. Even with lots of fighting, the story remains solid. The story has lots of plot twists that makes Noblesse somewhat unpredictable and draws you out to read more to see the reasons behind every characters actions.
The artstyle of Noblesse is probably the first thing anyone will notice. It's very clean and nice to look at, which really helps out during the fight scenes. All the characters has their own unique design relative to their race and species with their personalities attached to it. Even the background art is beautiful to look at.
Overall, Noblesse is a fun and entertaining manhwa to read. The story is simplistic and yet has lots of twists which makes it unpredictable. The artstyle is very clean and beautiful. At present, Noblesse already has 495 chapters and is published online via Line Webtoon. Rating: 8.5/10
