Hola Hivers amantes de las películas y series, hace poco he querido revisa lo más nuevo del catálogo de Netflix y me causó curiosidad que una de las películas se mantuvo en el primer puesto del top de popularidad por varios días, hoy analizaré la película Sweet Girl y comentaré sobre mi opinión sobre si merece estar entre el top de películas populares en una de las plataformas más importantes en cuanto a entretenimiento.
Esta es una película de este año 2021, con una duración de menos de dos horas podríamos catalogarla dentro del género de acción, sin embargo, también podemos notar algo de drama en un entorno familiar. La producción es dirigida por Brian Andrew Mendoza el cual debuta en la gran pantalla con esta producción para engordar el catálogo de Netflix.
Sinopsis:
Un hombre destrozado por la pérdida de su mujer desea ejecutar su venganza contra las compañías farmacéuticas que impidieron la recuperación de su esposa. Una batalla contra la avaricia y conspiraciones lo llevaran a un gran peligro, por lo cual debe proteger a la familia que le queda, su dulce hija.
Análisis de la Película
Jason Momoa
Este actor es uno de los factores más importantes que posee la producción desde un punto de vista comercial y de mercadeo. Ya haber saltado a la estratosfera de la fama interpretando a Aquaman hace que cualquier película donde aparezca su rostro en el poster sea un producto altamente comercial en la industria del entretenimiento. Este tipo de estrategias es bastante conocido, invertir en actores que están a la moda puede significar e una estrategia de mercadeo completa. Así con este trasfondo se ha promocionado esta nueva película que sin dudas muchos usuarios reproducirán la película debido a que el protagonista es un actor de moda que ha realizado buenos trabajos anteriormente.
Historia
La historia en esta producción puede sonar algo repetida, sin embargo, creo que a muchas personas le interesaría una historia de venganza contra poderosas compañías, en una batalla cuesta arriba con enemigos más allá del alcance de una persona común, incluso podemos notar algunas escenas que recuerdan uno de los diálogos más famosos de la saga de películas Búsqueda Implacable.
Desde mi perspectiva una historia de conspiración en combinación con una sed de venganza imparable siempre va a ser una historia entretenida para analizar, aunque podemos enumerar muchas producciones siguiendo esta trama por lo cual los guionistas y directores deben enfocarse en darle ese toque de personalidad y distinto en el que el espectador pueda estar convencido de que está disfrutando de una historia original y no una copia de películas de años pasados.
El comienzo me parece favorable para la producción, observamos a la familia y como decae la madre, aunque ya mucho nos lo dice la sinopsis es importante observar detenidamente estas escenas que pueden trasmitir emociones y hacer una conexión con la película y sus personajes. Jason Momoa protagoniza una escena bastante emotiva, en cuanto a la actuación esa escena desgarradora sería lo más significativo de la producción ya que trasmite las emociones por lo cual entendemos de alguna manera que el sufrimiento y el dolor lo llevan a buscar no solo respuestas sino también venganza.
La historia lleva un ritmo algo lento, pero a medida que avanza podemos notar un cambio de ritmo acelerando la velocidad, sin embargo, por momentos el desarrollo de la trama puede ser algo aburrido y en muchos casos notaremos acciones sin sentido que van ocurriendo en la película.
Los Antagonistas
El villano de cierta manera decepciona, creo que no está a un nivel que haga que el espectador sienta temor, odio o alguna otra emoción que normalmente esperamos que el villano haga sentir a la persona que está mirando la película. A mi parecer no hay un villano acorde a la situación a pesar de que al transcurrir los minutos sabemos que existen diferentes antagonistas hasta llegar al principal.
En el estilo de las conspiraciones de grandes corporaciones, la historia siempre va a centrarse en dos tipos de personajes, el cerebro de la operación y el enemigo que jala el gatillo para eliminar a los que representan una amenaza a sus intereses, en esta producción podemos visualizar a ambos tipos de personajes pero desde mi perspectiva ambos tipos de antagonistas decepciona, tanto en inteligencia, dialogo e incluso actuación.
Tener pocas emociones sobre los antagonistas en una película envuelta en una venganza hace que la producción baje su calidad indiscutiblemente debido a que la venganza desde la perspectiva del espectador se realiza sin sentido alguno, basándonos solamente en lo ocurrido a principios del largometraje pero sin un sentimiento fuerte que involucre a alguno de los tipos de antagonistas descritos en el film y que despierte en el espectador el deseo de venganza.
¿Acción?
La película nos muestra una trama bastante simple, dando lugar a la típica huida del prófugo de la justicia con unas cuantas escenas de acción las cuales de por si no son buenas, estas escenas no son suficientes y tampoco presentan la calidad esperada para una película dentro del género que se encuentra en el top de popularidad, en cuanto a los combates, disparos y demás la película decepciona en gran manera.
Giro Inesperado
Algo que caracteriza esta trama es un giro que ocurre en la segunda mitad de la producción, antes de este cambio en la historia la película llega a un punto que necesita algo de emoción para sacar al espectador de un letargo provocado por lo previsible de la trama en conjunto de la poca acción y sorpresa.
Todo cambia sobre un giro que la verdad no me esperaba, creo que nadie se espera este tipo de vuelta a la narrativa, si bien causa emoción, sorpresa e introduce a la película en un ambiente tanto emotivo e interesante, al analizar detalladamente los hechos puede parecer irreal y tocándole la puerta a lo absurdo.
A mi parecer este giro es bastante resaltante debido a que si bien parece algo ilógico le da un ritmo distinto a la película carente de emociones, era algo necesario para dar darle un golpe a la mesa y presentar algo diferente. Si bien al igual que la publicidad como la trama giran alrededor de Jason Momoa luego de esta sorpresa conoceremos la razón del título del largometraje.

Opinión
En ocasiones la publicidad puede crear expectativas que el largometraje no termina cumpliendo en su totalidad, creo que esta producción no es una referencia para los puestos de honor en popularidad en Netflix. A pesar de algunas buenas escenas la película no termina convenciendo aun con el sorpresivo giro en la trama que a pesar de inyectarle algo de adrenalina a la película termina por ser algo irracional. En esta película existen varios vacíos donde la lógica se aparta por momentos y nos otorga un argumento poco sostenible, los personajes no convencen es su totalidad lo cual hace que toda la producción se sostenga comercialmente debido a que Aquaman aparece en el poster.
Desde mi perspectiva la película se centra mucho en la sorpresa que nos otorga la trama dejando escapar otros aspectos importantes para envolver al espectador dentro de la película. En definitiva me hubiese gustado ver no solo mas escenas de acción sino también de mejor calidad.
¿La Recomiendo?
Esta producción no es una de esas películas que puedes recomendar abiertamente, es una película que al final de cuentas se escuda detrás de un sorpresivo giro en la trama y no muestra aspectos relevantes en cuanto a acción, suspenso, drama y otras emociones.

The production is directed by Brian Andrew Mendoza which debuts on the big screen with this production to fatten the Netflix catalog.

This actor is one of the most important factors that the production possesses from a commercial and marketing standpoint. Already having jumped into the stratosphere of fame playing Aquaman makes any movie where his face appears on the poster a highly commercial product in the entertainment industry. This type of strategy is well known, investing in fashionable actors can be a complete marketing strategy. So with this background this new movie has been promoted and no doubt many users will play the movie because the protagonist is a fashionable actor who has done good work in the past.
Story
The story in this production may sound somewhat repetitive, however, I think many people would be interested in a story of revenge against powerful companies, in an uphill battle with enemies beyond the reach of an ordinary person, we can even notice some scenes that recall one of the most famous dialogues of the Relentless Pursuit movie saga.
From my perspective a story of conspiracy in combination with an unstoppable thirst for revenge is always going to be an entertaining story to analyze, although we can list many productions following this plot so the screenwriters and directors should focus on giving it that touch of personality and different in which the viewer can be convinced that he is enjoying an original story and not a copy of movies of past years.
The beginning seems to me favorable for the production, we observe the family and how the mother declines, although the synopsis tells us a lot, it is important to carefully observe these scenes that can convey emotions and make a connection with the film and its characters. Jason Momoa stars in a very emotional scene, in terms of acting that heartbreaking scene would be the most significant of the production as it conveys the emotions by which we understand somehow that the suffering and pain lead him to seek not only answers but also revenge.
The story has a somewhat slow pace, but as it progresses we can notice a change of pace accelerating the speed, however, at times the development of the plot can be somewhat boring and in many cases we will notice senseless actions that occur in the film.
The Antagonists
The villain in a way disappoints, I think he is not at a level that makes the viewer feel fear, hatred or any other emotion that we normally expect the villain to make the person watching the movie feel. In my opinion there is no villain to match the situation even though as the minutes go by we know that there are different antagonists until we get to the main one.
In the style of conspiracies of large corporations, the story will always focus on two types of characters, the mastermind of the operation and the enemy who pulls the trigger to eliminate those who represent a threat to their interests, in this production we can visualize both types of characters but from my perspective both types of antagonists disappoint, both in intelligence, dialogue and even acting.
Having few emotions about the antagonists in a film involved in a revenge makes the production lower its quality unquestionably because the revenge from the perspective of the viewer is done without any sense, based only on what happened at the beginning of the film but without a strong feeling that involves any of the types of antagonists described in the film and that awakens in the viewer the desire for revenge.
Action?
The film shows us a fairly simple plot, giving rise to the typical escape from justice with a few action scenes which in themselves are not good, these scenes are not enough and do not present the expected quality for a film in the genre that is at the top of popularity, in terms of fighting, shooting and so on the film disappoints greatly.
Unexpected Twist
Something that characterizes this plot is a twist that occurs in the second half of the production, before this change in the story the film reaches a point that needs some excitement to get the viewer out of a lethargy caused by the predictability of the plot in conjunction with little action and surprise.
Everything changes on a twist that I really did not expect, I think no one expects this kind of return to the narrative, although it causes emotion, surprise and introduces the film in an emotional and interesting atmosphere, when analyzing the facts in detail it may seem unreal and touching the door to the absurd.
In my opinion this twist is quite remarkable because although it seems illogical, it gives a different rhythm to the film lacking in emotions, it was something necessary to give a blow to the table and present something different. While both the advertising and the plot revolve around Jason Momoa, after this surprise we will know the reason for the title of the film.

Sometimes advertising can create expectations that the feature film does not end up fulfilling in its entirety, I think this production is not a reference for the positions of honor in popularity on Netflix. Despite some good scenes the film does not end up convincing even with the surprising plot twist that despite injecting some adrenaline to the film ends up being somewhat irrational. In this film there are several gaps where the logic departs at times and gives us a little sustainable argument, the characters are not convincing in its entirety which makes the whole production is sustained commercially because Aquaman appears on the poster.
From my perspective the film focuses too much on the surprise that gives us the plot leaving out other important aspects to involve the viewer in the film. In short, I would have liked to see not only more action scenes but also of better quality.
Do I recommend it?
This production is not one of those movies that you can openly recommend, it is a movie that at the end of the day hides behind a surprising plot twist and does not show relevant aspects in terms of action, suspense, drama and other emotions.
