David Packouz es un masajista certificado en Miami, la verdad que un trabajo nada agradable, puesto a que según el mismo, masajea a viejos ricos en Miami, incluso podemos notar en una de las escenas que los clientes pueden propasarse con este joven masajista y que quieren que el masaje termine en otra tónica, sin embargo, el joven es profesional y debe cuidar su trabajo al parecer ignora algunas pretensiones de sus clientes para seguir con su trabajo, al parecer es bastante solicitado en Miami este tipo de trabajo, este siempre tenía citas con clientes.
David Packouz Tiene una novia que lo quiere mucho, vive una vida sencilla pero agradable en pareja, solo falta cubrir ciertos gastos, como Packouz no desea mucho ser masajista decide invertir en finas sabanas para vender al mayoreo, su plan es vender sabanas a los acilos de ancianos y así generar ingresos extra y poder dejar de darle masajes a hombres adinerados.

Todo cambia al asistir a un funeral de un viejo amigo, allí se reencontraría con Efraim Diveroli su viejo amigo de la infancia, este le argumenta que le buscaba y que quería reencontrarse con su viejo amigo, desde este momento Diveroli le muestra su negocio de armas a Packouz, algo que no le da mucha importancia hasta que recibe la noticia de que su novia Iz, tendrá un bebé, preocupado por las finanzas Packouz, decide aceptar la propuesta de Diveroli para trabajar en su compañía.

Ante esta situación Packouz decide retirarse de la empresa, recoger sus ganancias e irse, sin embargo, su contrato sobre la repartición de las ganancias es destruido por lo cual no puede acceder al dinero.
