Esta es otra de esas producciones de la cual se ha hablado bastante en esta comunidad, mi curiosidad aumentaba al ver tantas publicaciones sobre este filme, así que la incluí en mi lista, para posteriormente pasar a analizar aquellos aspectos que atraen a los espectadores en esta narrativa que a primera vista se parece algo simple, pero que al mismo tiempo posee un misterio que emana desde el póster y la sinopsis.
Debo decir que no soy un fan de la cocina, sé preparar un par de platillos solamente (de los más básicos), de hecho, tampoco soy fan de las series sobre chefs o de competencias culinarias, he visto muy pocas cosas sobre este amplio universo gastronómico, por lo que en un principio solo tener de título Menú no era lo suficientemente atrayente para mí, sin embargo, las cosas fueron cambiando y deseo comentarles la razón lo la cual me parece un filme a tener en cuenta.
Sinopsis:
Un restaurante altamente exclusivo desea proveer una experiencia sin igual a los comensales a los que se les une Tyler, el cual es un fanático de la gastronomía del lugar, y su compañera Margot, quien no comparte en su totalidad la afición por la alta comida, juntos pasaran por situaciones cada vez más misteriosas en aquel exclusivo restaurante.
Análisis del Filme
Hace un momento escribí sobre la simplicidad del título, una característica que podríamos decir que comparte con en el póster, sin embargo, en esta ocasión podemos conocer algo de la historia tan solo viendo ese póster, este posee características que inmediatamente nos introducen a la historia y nos proporciona un platillo de entrada para ver la película, de hecho, puede envolver a los espectadores tan solo viéndolo.
En ese póster es notorio los tres protagonistas, en donde Tyler (Nicholas Hoult) está muy interesado en degustar la comida, mientras que su pareja Margot (Anya Taylor-Joy) no parece tan interesada, atrás el chef con una posición robusta y dominante (Ralph Fiennes), esta es una entrada a la historia interesante que observamos a primera vista y de hecho, es básicamente un resumen de la introducción a los primeros minutos del filme.
Así como lo expliqué anteriormente, no todos somos amantes de este tipo de lugares, en lo particular me gusta mucho comer, pero no podría pagar miles de dólares por un platillo diminuto, quizás a otras personas les parezca atractivo y eso es respetable, es por esa razón que existen muchos lugares que les propone a sus comensales una experiencia más allá del platillo exclusivo a cambio de una abultada cuenta.
En mi ciudad existe un restaurante en donde las mesas de los comensales se encuentra en una plataforma que es subida por una grúa, se encuentra en lo alto de una montaña, por lo que supongo que es una vista espectacular, sin embargo, esa experiencia hace que la comida sea costosa, sinceramente no me atrevería a ir aun si el dinero me sobrara, definitivamente no soy fan de los sitios que alimentan el ego (más allá de las personas que disfrutan de la comida hecha por chefs reconocidos).
¿Por qué Digo Todo Esto?
Debido a que una de las maneras de enganchar al espectador es que inmediatamente se sienta identificado con algún personaje, sobre todo, en el caso de los protagonistas. Muchos de nosotros vemos estas excentricidades culinarias no desde el punto de vista de un artista, sino el de alguien que solo desea llenar su barriga, pienso que el personaje de Anya Taylor-Joy le otorga un equilibrio al filme que a mi parecer es totalmente necesario, sobre todo, para atrapar a los espectadores que no son fanáticos de la gastronomía de alto nivel, inmediatamente nos podemos identificar con el personaje, tan solo viendo la actitud tomada en el póster del filme, sabiendo que están en un sitio altamente exclusivo.
Desde el otro lado de la mesa tenemos a Tyler, aquel chico que está totalmente concentrado en el plato y que solo desea degustar la obra de arte del chef. Entiendo (en parte) a este personaje, de hecho, él mismo lo explica de una manera simple y concreta en el filme, muchos de nosotros seguimos de cerca la carrera de grandes deportistas, los admiramos como superhéroes, eso mismo ocurre con Tyler al ver al chef, básicamente se derrite ante su presencia. Este personaje significa la oposición total a Margot (a pesar de que visitan juntos el lugar), Tyler lleva ese fanatismo a otro nivel, ese siguiente nivel es lo que hace convertir esta película en un thriller muy interesante.
Existen otros tipos de clientes en el lugar, se pueden apreciar al fondo del póster, si bien ya he mencionado aquella persona que no se siente cómoda en el lugar y otro que parece estar hipnotizado ante el asombro del lugar y de la comida, podemos encontrar algunos personajes que en lugar de saciar su hambre, lo que desean es alimentar su ego. Quizás sea algo común, aquellos que no saben absolutamente nada del arte culinario, pero simplemente van a este tipo de lugares solo para demostrar el peso de su billetera, lo que podría decirse que también es una consecuencia de la presión social de la alta sociedad. Este concepto toma más fuerza cuando el mismo chef le pregunta a uno de los comensales que frecuenta el lugar el nombre de algún platillo, algo que pudiera recordar de tantos platos ingeridos en ese sitio y que efectivamente (para disgusto de chef) no recuerda nada, simplemente lo que tragó, demostrando que tiene el poder económico para estar allí, así mismo con otros personajes en el que se nota que no saben nada de cocina.

Opinión Final
Esta es una película bastante interesante, posee una narrativa bastante atractiva y un ritmo adecuado para desarrollar el argumento, se tiene algo de misterio que de a poco se convierte en un thriller y nos sumerge en una historia inquietante, pero deliciosa. A mi parecer, el protagonista es el ego el que hace que se desencadenen todos los acontecimientos en el lugar y ese es el mensaje que finalmente nos deja.
Me agradaron las actuaciones y la construcción de los personajes, sobre todo, como aumentaba el misterio paulatinamente hasta hacerse insostenible, es de esas películas en donde se debe estar atento para saber lo que ocurre sobre el final, un final que quizás interesante debido a que no esperaremos este estilo de cierre, al menos en los primeros minutos del filme.
¿La Recomiendo?
Sí, es un filme que vale la pena ver, sea o no amante de la alta cocina, es un platillo que puede ser del gusto de un gran segmento del público, y que seguramente sabrán apreciar. Desde mi perspectiva es un filme con buena dosis de entretenimiento y que puedo recomendar abiertamente.

This is another of those productions that has been talked about a lot in this community, my curiosity increased when I saw so many publications about this film, so I included it in my list, to later analyze those aspects that attract viewers in this narrative that at first glance seems somewhat simple, but at the same time has a mystery that emanates from the poster and the synopsis.
I must say that I am not a fan of cooking, I know how to prepare a couple of dishes only (of the most basic ones), in fact, I am not a fan of series about chefs or culinary competitions either, I have seen very few things about this wide gastronomic universe, so at first only having Menu as a title was not appealing enough for me, however, things were changing and I want to tell you the reason why I think it is a film to take into account.
Synopsis:
A highly exclusive restaurant wants to provide an unparalleled experience to diners who are joined by Tyler, who is a fan of the gastronomy of the place, and his companion Margot, who does not share in its entirety the fondness for fine dining, together they will go through increasingly mysterious situations in that exclusive restaurant.
Film Analysis
A moment ago I wrote about the simplicity of the title, a characteristic that we could say it shares with the poster, however, this time we can know something of the story just by looking at that poster, it has features that immediately introduce us to the story and provides us with a starter to see the film, in fact, it can involve the viewers just by looking at it.
In that poster is notorious the three main characters, where Tyler (Nicholas Hoult) is very interested in tasting the food, while his partner Margot (Anya Taylor-Joy) does not seem so interested, behind the chef with a robust and dominant position (Ralph Fiennes), this is an interesting entrance to the story that we observe at first glance and in fact, it is basically a summary of the introduction to the first minutes of the film.
As I explained before, not all of us are lovers of this kind of places, in particular I like to eat, but I could not pay thousands of dollars for a tiny dish, maybe other people find it attractive and that is respectable, that is why there are many places that offer their diners an experience beyond the exclusive dish in exchange for a hefty bill.
In my city there is a restaurant where the tables of the diners are located on a platform that is raised by a crane, it is located at the top of a mountain, so I guess it is a spectacular view, however, that experience makes the food is expensive, honestly I would not dare to go even if I had money to spare, I am definitely not a fan of places that feed the ego (beyond people who enjoy the food made by renowned chefs).
Why do I say all this?
Because one of the ways to hook the viewer is to immediately identify with a character, especially in the case of the main characters. Many of us see these culinary eccentricities not from the point of view of an artist, but that of someone who just wants to fill his belly, I think Anya Taylor-Joy's character gives a balance to the film that in my opinion is totally necessary, especially to catch the viewers who are not fans of high-level gastronomy, we can immediately identify with the character, just seeing the attitude taken in the poster of the film, knowing that they are in a highly exclusive place.
From the other side of the table we have Tyler, the boy who is totally focused on the dish and only wants to taste the chef's work of art. I understand (in part) this character, in fact, he himself explains it in a simple and concrete way in the film, many of us follow closely the career of great athletes, we admire them as superheroes, that same thing happens with Tyler when he sees the chef, he basically melts in his presence. This character means total opposition to Margot (even though they visit the place together), Tyler takes that fanaticism to another level, that next level is what makes this movie a very interesting thriller.
There are other types of customers in the place, they can be appreciated at the bottom of the poster, while I have already mentioned that person who does not feel comfortable in the place and another who seems to be hypnotized by the amazement of the place and the food, we can find some characters that instead of satiating their hunger, what they want is to feed their ego. Perhaps it is something common, those who know absolutely nothing about the culinary art, but simply go to this kind of places just to show the weight of their wallet, which could be said to be also a consequence of the social pressure of high society. This concept takes more force when the same chef asks one of the diners who frequents the place the name of a dish, something he could remember of so many dishes eaten in that place and that effectively (to the chagrin of the chef) does not remember anything, just what he swallowed, demonstrating that he has the economic power to be there, as well as other characters in which it is noted that they know nothing about cooking.

Final Opinion
This is a very interesting film, it has a very attractive narrative and an adequate rhythm to develop the plot, it has some mystery that gradually turns into a thriller and immerses us in a disturbing but delicious story. In my opinion, the protagonist is the ego that triggers all the events in the place and that is the message that finally leaves us.
I liked the performances and the construction of the characters, above all, as the mystery gradually increased until it became unsustainable, it is one of those films where you must be attentive to know what happens at the end, an ending that may be interesting because we will not expect this style of closure, at least in the first minutes of the film.
Do I recommend it?
Yes, it is a film worth watching, whether or not you are a lover of haute cuisine, it is a dish that may be to the taste of a large segment of the public, and that you will surely appreciate. From my perspective, it is a film with a good dose of entertainment that I can openly recommend.
