Hola Hivers amantes de las películas y series, en esta oportunidad no les comentaré sobre una película o serie nueva recién sacada del horno, todo lo contrario quiero aprovechar esta oportunidad para recordar una película que siempre me ha gustado y que pienso que muchos de los usuarios en Hive la han visto en alguna oportunidad, hablo de Día de la Independencia.
Quiero recordar esa primera película, la que se estrenó en 1996, sabemos que existe la segunda parte estrenada luego de 20 años de este éxito taquillero, sin embargo, en esta ocasión quiero concentrarme en esa primera película que en definitiva entra en mis favoritas en el genero de ciencia ficción e invasión alienígena, es de las películas que mas recuerdo y quiero compartirla con todos ustedes.
Sinopsis:
En la víspera del 4 de Julio la humanidad es amenazada por extraterrestres en gigantescas naves espaciales, el terror de apodera del planeta mientras las naves alienígenas disparan sus poderosas armas en las grandes ciudades del mundo. La esperanza para la supervivencia de la raza humana recae en poder atacarlos antes que sea demasiado tarde, la verdadera independencia de la humanidad requerirá un trabajo en conjunto de todas las naciones unidas contra esta amenaza sin precedentes proveniente del espacio.
Esta película se estrena cuando yo apenas era un niño, no tenía conciencia de este tipo de películas así que verla mucho tiempo después de su estreno no limitó esas buenas sensaciones que trasmite esta producción. Esta sin dudas es una película especial para mí ya que la recuerdo desde hace muchos años, la primera vez que la vi simplemente quede fascinado con toda la producción, por supuesto era quizás un niño o tal vez un adolecente y posiblemente me impresionaba con muchas cosas, pero esta película fue de esas especiales que siempre recordaré.
Lo que me Gusta de la Película
Historia
Desde mi adolescencia me encantan las películas de ciencia ficción, me agradan los subgéneros en los cuales la humanidad se enfrenta a una invasión alienígena. Me agrada las películas bélicas, de guerras y enfrentamientos en épicas batallas, por otro lado me gusta la ciencia ficción, lo cual de cierta manera en una historia introducida en el subgénero de invasión alienígena puedo encontrar tanto la acción bélica como también armas y tecnologías futuristas, es por esa razón que me agrada tanto este tipo de películas Esto lo he mencionado anteriormente al reseñar producciones relativamente nuevas pero que personalmente no puedo comparar con esta producción lanzada en 1996, no llegan a ese nivel de calidad.
La Humanidad Realmente Unida
Uno de los aspectos que en aquel entonces me fascinaba era ver la humanidad unida como nunca antes. Si hablamos de que el enemigo en común puede unir más que una bandera, esto se cumple a cabalidad y es reflejado en la película en varias escenas, hay un punto en donde ya las nacionalidades son irrelevantes, diferencias de razas, idiomas ideologías ya no tienen importancia alguna. Por momentos nos sentimos miembros de un solo bando la “humanidad” que debe luchar para poder seguir viviendo y respirando en este planeta. Esto es un sentimiento que logra trasmitir la película de manera significativa, así lo viví yo en aquellos años, con esa emoción que sacudía mi mente adolecente.
Amante de los Efectos Especiales
Otra característica propia de mi personalidad es que soy amante de los efectos especiales, lo he confesado en diversas oportunidades. Simplemente me agradan y si la película quizás no me muestra una narrativa estructurada y correctamente argumentada pero esto es compensado con buenos efectos especiales quizás mi opinión termine siendo positiva. Me agrada mucho este tipo de trabajo técnico sobre todo cuando es una película comercial que evidentemente cuenta con un presupuesto bastante amplio para utilizar efectos visuales que hagan emocionar al espectador.
Esta película sin dudas hace uso de este recurso de manera significativa, incluso es ganadora del Oscar por mejores efectos visuales y no es para menos ya que observamos un trabajo magnífico en cuanto las naves espaciales, explosiones, aviones caza y demás. Este es otro aspecto que me cautivó desde que vi la película por primera vez, creo que si tenemos en cuenta que la producción es de 1996 podemos decir que sus efectos visuales son de excelente calidad, por lo cual impacto a todos los espectadores en su momento.
Personajes y Actuaciones Memorables
El reparto junta a varios famosos actores de la industria del entretenimiento destacando la participación de Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum y Bill Pullman; un experimentado piloto del cuerpo de Marines Norteamericanos, un astuto ingeniero sumado a nada mas y nada menos que el presidente de Estados unidos. Estos actores representaron a buenos personajes que le dieron vida a la trama es esta producción.
Me parece que la combinación de los personajes de Will Smith y Jeff Goldblum fue excelente, siendo personajes opuestos pudieron realizar un excelente trabajo en equipo, con el humor característico de los personajes de Will y con la sensatez del personaje de Goldblum, una combinación que la verdad me agradó en su momento para realizar el trabajo mas importante para salvar la humanidad que fue neutralizar las defensas de las naves que se encontraban invadiendo el planeta tierra.
Quien haya visto esta película recordará el discurso del presidente de Estados Unidos representado por el actor Bill Pullman y si no se recuerdan las palabras probablemente se recuerde la emoción que causaba ese discurso justo antes de enfrentarse a los extraterrestres en la batalla aérea mas importante del la historia, un mensaje patriótico que si bien era enfocado a la cultura estadounidense representado por el significado del 4 de julio también abarcaba a todo el mundo y todas las naciones, así como lo mencioné anteriormente yo lo sentía en que ya no importaba bandera sino que todos conformamos el bando del planeta tierra.
Las actuaciones son significativas, me parece que todos los personajes incluso los que no nombré en el párrafo anterior tienen una importancia bastante marcada en la trama, en lo particular me agradó mucho las actuaciones y como se compenetraron todos los personajes. Lamentablemente en la segunda película uno de estos grandes personajes había muerto anteriormente, para mi la película le faltó el carisma característico de Will Smith, sin embargo, esto lo analizaré posteriormente en un post dedicado a esa segunda película.
Conclusión
Esta película reúne una serie de características que me agrada observar en una película: Una historia interesante, complementada por buenos personajes y excelentes actuaciones, el guión me parece muy bien encaminado de principio a fin, buenos argumentos en la narrativa y una estructura que hace que la película sea muy interesante, efectos especiales increíbles y fascinantes para la época, también es necesario resaltar que además la película trasmite emociones que parecen salir de la pantalla para caer justo en la mente del espectador y hacer que por momentos se acelere el corazón.
Desde mi perspectiva encontrar una película que pueda reunir todo lo que mencioné anteriormente es algo que es difícil encontrar, es como buscar una aguja en un pajar, en lo particular la combinación de todas estas características la hace una película que recordaremos por siempre y que podremos ver una y otra vez si aburrirnos, o por lo menos eso me ocurre a mi.
Es un verdadero placer escribir para todos ustedes en esta maravillosa comunidad, estoy atento a los comentarios para aquellas personas que tuvieron la oportunidad de ver esta producción a finales de la década de los 90`s y si les parece una buena película para recordar e incluso para ver nuevamente.

I want to remember that first movie, which was released in 1996, we know that there is the second part released after 20 years of this blockbuster, however, this time I want to focus on that first film that definitely enters my favorites in the genre of science fiction and alien invasion, it is of the films that I remember the most and I want to share it with all of you.
Synopsis:
On the eve of the 4th of July mankind is threatened by aliens in giant spaceships, terror grips the planet as the alien ships fire their powerful weapons on the great cities of the world. The hope for the survival of the human race lies in being able to attack them before it is too late, the true independence of mankind will require a united effort of all nations working together against this unprecedented threat from space.
This movie is released when I was just a kid, I was not aware of this kind of movies so watching it long after its release did not limit those good feelings that this production transmits. This is undoubtedly a special movie for me since I remember it from many years ago, the first time I saw it I was simply fascinated with the whole production, of course I was maybe a kid or maybe a teenager and possibly I was impressed with many things, but this movie was one of those special ones that I will always remember.
What I like about the movie
Story
Since I was a teenager I love science fiction movies, I like the subgenres in which humanity faces an alien invasion. I like war movies, of wars and confrontations in epic battles, on the other hand I like science fiction, which in a certain way in a story introduced in the subgenre of alien invasion I can find both war action as well as futuristic weapons and technologies, is for that reason that I like so much this kind of movies This I have mentioned before when reviewing relatively new productions but that personally I can not compare with this production released in 1996, they do not reach that level of quality.
Humanity Truly United
One of the aspects that fascinated me at the time was to see humanity united like never before. If we talk about that the common enemy can unite more than a flag, this is fulfilled to the fullest and is reflected in the film in several scenes, there is a point where nationalities are irrelevant, differences of races, languages, ideologies no longer have any importance. At times we feel like members of a single side, "humanity" that must fight to continue living and breathing on this planet. This is a feeling that the film manages to convey in a meaningful way, that's how I lived it in those years, with that emotion that shook my adolescent mind.
Special Effects Lover
Another characteristic of my personality is that I am a lover of special effects, I have confessed it on several occasions. I simply like them and if the movie doesn't show me a structured and well argued narrative but this is compensated with good special effects, maybe my opinion will end up being positive. I really like this kind of technical work, especially when it is a commercial film that obviously has a large budget to use visual effects to thrill the viewer.
This film undoubtedly makes use of this resource in a significant way, it even won the Oscar for best visual effects and it is not for less since we observe a magnificent work in terms of spaceships, explosions, fighter planes and others. This is another aspect that captivated me since I saw the film for the first time, I think if we take into account that the production is from 1996 we can say that its visual effects are of excellent quality, so it impacted all viewers at the time.
Memorable Characters and Performances.
The cast brings together several famous actors from the entertainment industry, including Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman; an experienced US Marine Corps pilot, a cunning engineer and none other than the President of the United States. These actors portrayed good characters that brought the plot to life in this production.
It seems to me that the combination of the characters of Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum was excellent, being opposite characters could make an excellent teamwork, with the characteristic humor of Will's characters and the wisdom of Goldblum's character, a combination that I really liked at the time to perform the most important job to save humanity that was to neutralize the defenses of the ships that were invading the planet earth.
Whoever has seen this movie will remember the speech of the president of the United States represented by actor Bill Pullman and if you do not remember the words probably remember the emotion that caused that speech just before facing the aliens in the most important air battle in history, a patriotic message that although it was focused on American culture represented by the meaning of July 4 also encompassed the whole world and all nations, as I mentioned above I felt that no longer mattered flag but that we all conform the side of the planet earth.
The performances are significant, it seems to me that all the characters even those that I did not name in the previous paragraph have a quite marked importance in the plot, in particular I was very pleased with the performances and how all the characters blended together. Unfortunately in the second film one of these great characters had died previously, for me the film lacked the characteristic charisma of Will Smith, however, I will analyze this later in a post dedicated to that second film.
Conclusion
This film brings together a number of characteristics that I like to observe in a film: An interesting story, complemented by good characters and excellent performances, the script seems to me very well routed from beginning to end, good arguments in the narrative and a structure that makes the film very interesting, incredible and fascinating special effects for the time, it is also necessary to emphasize that the film also conveys emotions that seem to leave the screen to fall right into the mind of the viewer and make the heart race at times.
From my perspective finding a movie that can bring together everything I mentioned above is something that is hard to find, it's like looking for a needle in a haystack, in particular the combination of all these features makes it a movie that we will remember forever and that we can watch over and over again if we get bored, or at least that happens to me.
