Sinopsis:
Mei Lee es una adolescente de 13 años de edad, siendo una niña obediente y con altas calificaciones en la escuela también es de gran ayuda en el templo familiar, sin embargo, una misteriosa magia antigua le hace convertirse en un enorme panda rojo cada vez que siente una emoción fuerte, siendo una adolescente debe controlar sus impulsos emocionales y encontrar una cura.
Análisis de la Película
Comenzamos con una interesante introducción donde conoceremos a Mei Lee, una joven con buen rendimiento académico y el orgullo de sus sobreprotectores padres, sin embargo, cruza por una etapa de mucho cambio físico y emocional, la adolescencia, donde los gustos propios y las amigas influyen en gran medida a su personalidad, un proceso por el cual todos nosotros hemos pasado y que seguramente recordaremos muy bien al ver esta producción.
Los 2000´s
En mi caso he visto Red con mi hija, es muy pequeña para entender todo el panorama del film, sin embargo, le ha gustado bastante, pero para el grupo de 4 amigos (contando a mi esposa) que vimos la película quedamos nostálgicos con esa época de principios de siglo, la misma época donde nosotros comenzamos a vivir la adolescencia.
Quizás sea algo premeditado el colocar una ambientación de los 2000´s teniendo en cuenta que para el 2022 ya esos adolescentes tendrían poco más de 30 años con tal vez un hijo pequeño, ese fue nuestro caso, la comenzamos a ver por mi hija, pero esa ambientación nos llevó a los adultos a recordar ciertas características de la vida de un adolescente en aquella época. Esto hace que el espectador que vivió su adolescencia en esa época se conecte emocionalmente de una manera más fácil y efectiva al film, con tantas características que seguramente vivimos en esta etapa de nuestras vidas.
En un mundo que en cuanto tecnología era bastante diferente al de hoy en día, la música por CD que tanto apreciábamos, incluso los famosos celulares Nokia, la mascota virtual, la vestimenta y todo lo demás que nos hace un cuadro emocional que apunta directamente al publico nacido en los años 90´s que posiblemente al día de hoy son padres.
Animación
Me ha gustado este estilo de animación, que nos presenta un estilo habitual en Pixar con un buen detalle 3D con un diseño bastante amistoso y divertido, pero que también se combina con pequeños destellos de una animación asiática, para un espectador detallista en este tipo de animaciones describirá que en algunas escenas se pueden notar esos guiños a la animación asiática, algo con cierto sentido debido a que se nos introduce en una temática con un poco de mística oriental.
Algunos detalles como los ojos llenarse de lágrimas de emoción, reacciones emocionales con un sutil cambio de fondo, así como algunas escenas con un corte épico que se nos introduce en algunas ocasiones, son tipos de escenas que nos gustaba en nuestra adolescencia y que atrae mucho la mirada de los jóvenes. Esta película introduce sutilmente este aspecto típico de la animación oriental de una manera que no empaña esta historia moderna y que logra realzar las expresiones y buenos momentos de sus personajes. ¿lo notaron?
Un Público Adolescente
Hay muchas características que guían al film al espectador joven, una de ellas el sentirse identificado con esa rebeldía sobre los padres, en querer tomar sus propias decisiones y que al mismo tiempo se esta inmerso en una compleja estructura social dentro de una escuela, además de este aspecto esencial para introducirse en una temática de adolescentes también recurre a otras características propias que atrae a este tipo de público.
Algo que emociona a este tipo de público es sentir una especie de ventaja ante el entramado social que se vive en la adolescencia, en el caso de Mei Lee es el poder transformarse en un enorme panda rojo, algo que despierta la admiración de sus amigas y poco a poco en su entorno social, volviéndose digámoslo así, “más popular”. Este es un aspecto que es agradable ante el público joven.
Transformaciones, en unas décadas marcadas por los superhéroes, tenemos a una niña que se puede convertir en un panda rojo, hay escenas donde se desplaza por la ciudad como toda una superheroína y que en algunos minutos de la película puede realizar una batalla más que interesante, con un ambiente místico de fondo, se completa un cuadro realmente evolvente, dinámico y emocionante.
Amistad
Otro de esos aspectos siempre relevantes en una temática de adolescentes, es esos lazos de amistad que desarrolla la protagonista, unas amistades que no parecen de las más populares pero que se convierten en una fortaleza para controlar sus emociones, aunque desacreditados por sus padres, logran hacer evolucionar de una manera interesante a Mei Lee a lo largo del film.
Padres Sobre Protectores
Otro aspecto que evidentemente hace identificarse con este film son los padres, en especial la madre de Mei Lee que es una mujer muy estructurada y que trata de hacer de Mei Lee una ciudadana ejemplar, sueña con que su hija sea secretaria general de la ONU, pero, ¿ella quiere realmente eso o son solo los deseos de su madre? Allí observamos ciertos indicios de como la sobre protección puede causar un efector inverso y como puede de alguna forma, esa misma sobreprotección atacar directamente a la compleja vida social de un adolescente.
Aunque la madre de Mei Lee desea lo mejor para ella, por momentos no tiene en cuenta sus propios deseos, podemos notar que a pesar de esa férrea sobreprotección se le escapan detalles importantísimos sobre su hija, dando a entender que una parte de ella no desea que crezca, asumiendo inconscientemente que su cuerpo y mente se mantendrán como la de una niña, un efecto que definitivamente trae consecuencias y que la película de manera sutil aborda.

Una muy buena película para disfrutar en familia, quizás apuntando a una nostalgia a un publico treintañero, pero con una temática bastante atractiva para los adolescentes y para los de más edad, una animación envolvente y con un diseño agradable a la vista, presentando una historia que abarca temas atractivos para su público objetivo.
Pienso que Pixar realiza una muy buena labor en este film, por momentos deseamos nuevas historias y originalidad, no recurrir excesivamente a los remakes y hemos venido observando buenas producciones animadas en ese sentido como por ejemplo Luca, este tipo de producciones en donde se siente una frescura en su guion nos dice que Pixar junto con Disney puede seguir siendo relevantes en la industria del entretenimiento.
Red es una película envolvente de principio a fin, aunque no es perfecta ya que algunos personajes me parecieron irrelevantes, el padre de la protagonista, por ejemplo, es una historia que en definitiva vale la pena verla.

Si, es una producción agradable para verla en familia, de igual manera, si a cualquier espectador se le es agradable este tipo de producciones puede verla en solitario tranquilamente y de igual manera se mantendrá el entretenimiento en la pantalla, la recomiendo abiertamente para todo el público.
