If I asked my dad today which is his favorite actor he would probably tell me that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson because he loves those simple action movies where explosions, shootings, and exciting situations totally take over the plot leaving the story on a secondary plane, however unlike my dad I lately have been having trouble assimilating and enjoying those kinds of movies because they all look the same to me, they are all built using the exact same formula, few manage to include differential elements and the worst thing is that when they do are totally bizarre elements like Skyscraper where the protagonist is invalid of a leg but that fact does not change anything in the plot, it does not bring anything new, it was basically an element that they decided to place to try to give a more human touch to the protagonist, but the truth I hated that touch, because more than humanizing the character gives more advantage and you will see why.

Yes, Skyscraper is the typical overflowing action movie where everything is possible, where the characters are able to do all kinds of heroic acts without taking into account the reality factor, here at any time we can witness shots, jumps, and all kinds of extreme acts built around a false suspense that does not convince anyone (well, my dad maybe). The plot of this film situates us in the life of an incapacitated former FBI agent that moves to Hong Kong to help design and monitor the security system of an avant-garde tower that is about to become one of the highest and most technological buildings in the world, a tower full of fascinating places encapsulated in the heights. Basically we have a family man trying to make his way in the world of corporate security, but unfortunately he is caught in a kind of persecution led by a "terrorist" group that seeks to take control of the tower to get a kind of hard drive that owns the tower owner in the penthouse of the tower.

In spite of not having enjoyed the plot very much, what I did like were the camera effects and above all the choreographies of action that in spite of being too ambitious are made with total delicacy to look real. Without forgetting the visual effects to give life to the tower and all the chaos that develops inside it. However, something that was very lacking in this film is the music, the soundtrack is very flimsy, does not stand out at any time and only serves to lighten the load of action of the plot. In short, this is another commercial product that surely raised millions of dollars for people like my dad who only seek to entertain themselves with simple films that are dedicated only to overflowing action and meaningless explosions, and beware I do not say that this is wrong but seriously could have tried to give a more mature twist to this film because surely this would have conquered viewers a little more demanding.
