Today I moved apps, I finally let Netflix breathe. Yesterday I decided to watch a movie that I had on my list since who knows when.
12 Monkeys is a science fiction thriller from 1995, exactly the year I was born (don't start doing the math)
Hoy me moví de aplicación, por fin dejé a Netflix respirar. Ayer me propuse ver una película que la tenía en mi lista desde quien sabe cuándo.
12 monos, es un thriller de ciencia ficcion de los años 1995, justamente en el año en que nací (no empiecen a sacar cuentas)
By then the film is set in the present (a year left to the current one) but a strange virus has devastated most of the planet, since 90% of people have died. And some kind of scientists have built a time machine and have been sending prisoners with the promise of acquitting the sentence if they comply with the tasks that they dictate, without any success they decide to try James, since he seems to be suitable for them.
James was supposed to be sent to the year 1996 in September but they made a mistake and they send him to the year 1990 where he has a lot of problems and they even hospitalize him because they think he is crazy, fortunately they call him back to the present but this is after a while.
Para ese entonces la película se sitúa en el presente (un año dejado al actual) pero un extraño virus ha arrasado con la mayor parte del planeta, de los humanos, pues el 90% de personas han muerto. Y una especie de científicos han construido una máquina del tiempo y han estado enviando presos con la promesa de absolver la condena si cumplen con las tareas que ellos dictan, sin éxito alguno deciden probar con James, ya que parece el las apto.
James se supone que debía ser enviado al año 1996 en septiembre pero se equivocaron y lo envían al año 1990 dónde tiene mucho problemas e incluso lo internan porque piensan que está loco, afortunadamente lo llaman de vuelta a la actualidad pero esto es después de un tiempo.
James' mission is to find out who spread the virus and the clue they have is a group that calls themselves the 12 monkeys, he must find out who and when they will release a virus that will devastate humanity.
For this James is sent to the past several times because somehow he ends up failing but at the same time it leaves him closer to finding what he is looking for. Unfortunately, every time he is sent to the past we can notice how his mind seems to play with him.
La misión de James es averiguar quién esparció el virus y la pista que tienen es un grupo que se hace llamar los 12 monos, debe averiguar quién y cuando liberarán un virus que arrasará con la humanidad.
Para esto James es enviado varias veces al pasado porque de alguna manera termina fallando pero al mismo tiempo lo deja más cerca de encontrar lo que está buscando. Lamentablemente cada vez que es enviado al pasado podemos darnos cuenta como su mente parece jugar con él.
The point of the movie is that they make you think that this character is crazy and it even makes us doubt if he is really traveling in time but he does, in addition to the fact that as he discovers things to find the 12 monkeys they are also giving us ways to interpret what the ending of the film would be. Well, it seems like an open ending but at the same time contradictory.
It's really a good movie and I don't want to say more, it's worth watching.
El punto de la película es que te hacen pensar que este personaje está loco y nos hace incluso dudar de sí realmente está viajando en el tiempo pero sí lo hace, además de que también a medida de que va descubriendo cosas para encontrar a los 12 monos también nos están dando formas de interpretar lo que sería el final de la película. Pues parece un final abierto pero al mismo tiempo contradictorio.
Realmente es una buena película y no quiero contar más, merece la pena verla.
