No solo es por ser fanático de Will Smith, que también es una de las causas para recomendarles esta película, esta es una de las muchas películas con personajes entrañables, sacrificios, amistad, amor, miedo y ese puñado de emociones que rigen a una sociedad. Mostrar la corrupción, mostrar como la sociedad usara todas las herramientas a su disposición para protegerse y como aunque suene cruel y lamentable, muchas veces los seres humanos grandes o pequeños, exitosos o desconocidos, no somos más que un grano de arena en un desierto enorme.

Esto último enciende las alarmas de la NFL lo que pone en juego la carrera de Omalu, la de su mentor y amigo, y la de sus seres queridos.

Algo que explica la película bien y que quizás para quienes no habitamos los Estados Unidos de Norteamérica nos cueste entender es como funciona la NFL, la NFL como concepto y el poder que tiene el futbol americano sobre aquella sociedad. Basta ver como funciona y se posiciona un evento como la Super Bowl, para entender el poder que tiene la NFL. El futbol americano es una religión para gran parte del público estadounidense y la NFL siempre ha estado dispuesta a todo con tal de proteger la industria millonaria que rodea a esta liga deportiva.
Something that the film explains well and that may be difficult for those of us who do not live in the United States of America to understand is how the NFL works, the NFL as a concept and the power that American futbol has over that society. It is enough to see how an event like the Super Bowl works and positions itself, to understand the power that the NFL has. American futbol is a religion for a large part of the American public and the NFL has always been willing to do anything to protect the million-dollar industry that surrounds this sports league.

Esta película no está diseñada para que odies la NFL o a los dirigentes, creo que más que eso es un llamado de atención para darnos cuenta de que a veces ni la ciencia, ni miles de personas, ni tener las pruebas en las manos es suficiente para cambiar la forma en la que una sociedad decide gestionarse.
I am not the person to make a value judgment against the NFL, a few days ago I was enjoying the Super Bowl with my Dad; as Dr. Omalu said, thanks to his wife he learned to see the magic behind the sport and the reason why many have that fanaticism. This movie is not designed to make you hate the NFL or the officials, I think more than that it is a wake up call to realize that sometimes neither science, nor thousands of people, nor having the evidence in hand is enough to change the way a society decides to manage itself.

Un gran reparto con buenas actuaciones, un gran soundtrack, tomas fotográficas que te hacen vivir intensamente muchas escenas, situaciones cotidianas que te hacen recordar a cada momento que esto es algo que sucede y una historia como ya lo dije muy bien contada, son todo lo que puedes esperar de esta película.
