Welcome dear internet travelers who love investigations and thank you very much for making a temporary stop in my post, I have always been a fan of films that have some investigation and betrayal that invite the viewer to speculate about a specific event, that is why when I read the synopsis of "All the Old Knives" I found it extremely interesting and worthy of taking a look. Without more to add, get ready to discover the traitor because we are about to begin.
Bienvenidos queridos viajeros del internet amantes de las investigaciones y muchas gracias por hacer una parada temporal en mi post, siempre he sido fanático de las cintas que tengan algo de investigación y traición que inviten al espectador a especular sobre un acontecimiento en concreto, es por ello que cuando leí la sinopsis de “All the Old Knives” me pareció sumamente interesante y digna de echarle un vistazo. Sin más que agregar prepárense para descubrir al traidor pues estamos por comenzar.

All the Old Knives was released this year, directed by Janus Metz Pedersen and produced by Amazon Studios, and is 1 hour and 41 minutes long. It is a suspense and espionage film, the story revolves around the CIA facing the fact that one of its agents filtered information and this led to a tragedy in which many people died; 8 years after the misfortune the veteran agent Henry Pelham is assigned to investigate the case and discover which of his companions who was with him during the attack was the one who betrayed them, everything will be complicated when he must interrogate Celia who was his companion and lover.
All the Old Knives fue estrenada este año, dirigida por Janus Metz Pedersen y producida por Amazon Studios, cuenta con una duración de 1 hora y 41 minutos. Es una cinta de suspenso y espionaje, la historia gira en torno a la CIA enfrentándose al hecho de que uno de sus agentes filtro información y esto conllevó a que sucediese una tragedia en la cual fallecieron muchas personas; 8 años después de la desgracia el veterano agente Henry Pelham es asignado para que indague en el caso y descubra cuál de sus compañeros que estuvo con él durante el atentado fue el que los traiciono, todo se complicara cuando deba interrogar Celia la que fue su compañera y amante.

The soundtrack is pleasant, it is nothing exaggerated or spectacular but it generates a good atmosphere that accompanies in a very pleasant way everything that the plot presents.
La banda sonora es agradable, no es nada exagerado ni espectacular pero genera un buen ambiente que acompaña de forma muy grata a todo lo que presenta la trama.

The construction of the world is what is expected of the espionage tapes, an agency with secrets, terrorism and betrayals, there is no really remarkable context for things so the outcome of everything lacks a scenario that follows the step to the plot, because mostly everything is mentioned without being detailed and the little that is provided ends up being completely generic.
La construcción de mundo es lo esperado de las cintas de espionaje, una agencia con secretos, terrorismo y traiciones, no se da un contexto realmente destacable para las cosas por lo que el desenlace de todo carece de un escenario que le siga el paso a la trama, debido a que mayormente todo es mencionado sin ser detallado y lo poco que se proporciona termina siendo completamente genérico.

The plot presents a rather slow narrative, everything is told by a couple who are talking in a restaurant about a tragedy that happened in the past; this means that different hypotheses are constantly being raised about what happened and changes from the past to the present, making it easy to get lost if you do not pay attention. It presents some plot twists that honestly feel completely out of place since they have no kind of basis making them meaningless and feeling forced; all this leaves an extremely unsatisfactory development because it poses an ending that feels taken out of the sleeve.
La trama presenta una narrativa bastante lenta, todo va siendo contado por una pareja que se encuentra hablando en un restaurante sobre una tragedia que sucedió en el pasado; esto conlleva a que constantemente se estén planteando diferentes hipótesis sobre que paso y cambios del pasado al presente haciendo fácil poder perderse si no se presta atención. Presenta algunos giros argumentales que sinceramente se sienten completamente fuera de lugar puesto que no tienen ninguna clase de base haciéndolos carentes de sentido y sintiéndose forzados; todo esto deja un desarrollo sumamente insatisfactorio porque se plantea un final que se siente sacado de la manga.

This is undoubtedly the worst section of the film since it does not develop it in any sense, the protagonists are unknown whose only relevant characteristics are the fact that they worked together during the tragedy and that they were lovers, the rest of the characters have an almost zero focus which is a terrible failure because it is assumed that they should all have some degree of prominence to make them relevant and possible suspects but this never happens; all that is done is to raise a handful of irrelevant individuals doing their jobs without presenting any strange behavior that could justify their guilt or innocence. This notorious lack in the characters causes the resolution of the conflict to be boring as it has not generated expectation and suspense with the various characters that are only mentioned and left aside.
Este es sin lugar a dudas el peor apartado de la cinta puesto que no lo desarrolla en ningún sentido, los protagonistas son desconocidos cuyas únicas características relevantes son el hecho de que trabajaron juntos durante la tragedia y que eran amantes, el resto de personajes tienen un enfoque casi nulo lo que es un fallo terrible debido a que se supone que se deberían tener todos cierto grado de protagonismo para hacerlos relevantes y posibles sospechosos pero esto nunca pasa; todo lo que se hace es plantear a un puñado de irrelevantes individuos haciendo sus trabajos sin presentar ninguna conducta extraña que pueda justificar su culpabilidad o inocencia. Esta notoria carencia en los personajes provoca que la resolución del conflicto resulte aburrida al no haber generado expectativa y suspenso con los diversos personajes que solo son mencionados y dejados de lado.

All The Old Knives is that film that had necessary elements to be able to do interesting things but ends up being untapped potential, all because it neglects its most important section and that causes it to lose interest quickly. All this leads it to deserve a rating of 1.5 stars out of 7, a clear example of how films that have as their main focus the finding of a traitor should not be made.
All The Old Knives es esa cinta que tenía elementos necesarios para poder hacer cosas interesantes pero termina siendo potencial desaprovechado, todo debido a que descuida su apartado más importante y eso provoca que se pierda interes rápidamente. Todo ello la lleva a merecer una calificación de 1.5 estrellas de 7, un claro ejemplo de cómo no se deben hacer las cintas que tengan como principal enfoque el encontrar a un traidor.
