Over the years I've become addicted to movies that have to do with music because apart from offering incredible soundtracks, they usually give us unique stories of achievement and triumph.

Blinded by the Light is the story of a young man of Arab origin who changes his life by shaping it to the rhythm of the music of one of the most influential stars of the 80s.

However, this young man will not have it easy because he will have to overcome the precepts preconceived by his family about a type of music that they do not approve, basically the classic opinion of parents of Arab descent that we have seen so much in movies and that usually oppose that their children and families live their lives differently from the religious concepts they profess so much in their lives.

In a certain way this story is not very innovative, however it stands out for the freshness of the events, since they take all the subject even further playing with social, migratory and racial concepts that affect the life of the young person and the rest of his family.

With the passing of time we see how our young protagonist adapts his Pakistani life with the music of Bruce Springteen, beginning to write and create all kinds of music and tones that highlight the creative processes of a young man who has the potential of a star. We also see how this boy fights against social contradictions that prevent him from following a path that he considers his destiny of life.

In general, this is a story of overcoming with very light tints of social criticism that constantly wants to strengthen the fight against religious and xenophobic concepts to which hundreds of young people are subjected.

A funny movie, with perfectly timed dramatic moments to intervene only when they are necessary and that manages to perfectly capture a story of personal victory.

This is a film one hundred percent recommended if you want to have fun, entertain yourself and have small moments of reflection on racial issues.
