Are you looking for a good Polish series? So I have a great proposal for you - a very good production from HBO Polska in the genre of crime fiction / thriller in a neo-noir climate. Interesting subject matter, brutality, many good and very good actors who have a natural predisposition to play the roles of motherfuckers (through the country they grew up in + other factors, such as the culture that shaped them), the compact form and mostly intriguing threads give really cool effect. Besides, if it wasn't for the fact that I recognize these places and these people, I wouldn't say it's a Polish series. Editing, production, script (apart from the elements characteristic of the "Polish backyard"), the pace of action, direction, dialogues, the way the actors are led - all these and other things that I have not mentioned here are at a good, foreign level. Maybe there were some minor imperfections, maybe I even noticed them during the session, but from the perspective of the whole, it didn't really matter. There is no point in picking on trifles when everything else is at a very high level.
The plot shows 7 days in the life of an anti-social and introverted cocaine dealer. It serves the whole of Warsaw - from hipsters and left-wing banana youth, through rappers, famous celebrities or public figures, ending with politicians, businessmen and businesswoman. It is a story about the fact that every expensive commodity has its owner who observes it. The series also tells about the necessity to follow one's rules and those applicable in a given profession. Each of these threads (and several others) has been touched upon and shown well enough. According to the previous point, such items are rarely forgotten and people usually remember them. Or at least those who care about it. It's better not to touch such things, the mafia and people with great opportunities can do terrible harm. In this series, we were shown some of them - I can mention such things as taking the child to brothels across the western border, from which they most likely will not return (apparently they can still be saved to the border, but the further away from it, the worse). Or a "Colombian tie" - a throat cut in such a way as to pull the tongue out of the wound and, for example, strangle a man with it (one of the Polish officials was treated like that, I don't want to lie, but it was probably the beginning of the 1990s. Additionally, he was brutally tortured earlier. .). There are some scenes in this series that are strong. In concluding this paragraph, let me talk about the rules. If they had not been broken, many events in this series would not have happened. The main character would have peace, other characters might as well. Summing it all up - "Blinded by the Lights" shows how everything can be perfectly fucked within a few days ...
In this series we will see many talented actors - both those who can be considered the first league of the Polish acting school and the second (i.e. they are less known, but fit well or very well with the roles entrusted to them). We also have a debutant Kamil Nóżyński, who, although IMO is the weakest link in this series, fulfilled his role and played a good role as a well-ordered, cool-thinking dealer. I agree, it was not an outstanding performance, it is difficult for me to call it even a good one, but I liked it + despite its wooden acting, it completed its task correctly. That's why I give him a 6-6 + / 10. But I am completely captivated by the role of Jan Frycz. He played a very bad, rude and brutal bastard in a wonderful way. A man who is always well informed, who will not hesitate to order brutal murder to achieve his goals. I really liked how he combined stoic calm and bestial-animal behavior. I can assess Janusz Chabior similarly, who finally sounded the way I like him. Although he can smile charmingly, arousing sincere sympathy, his ragged face and a burned out and drunk voice make this man feared or you have to watch out for him. Just like Willem Dafoe is the perfect Goblin from "Spider-man" - just pour a bucket of green paint on him. I missed this Chabior after many more polite roles. And Robert Więckiewicz, who is not as talented as the two previous actors, but played the role he was entrusted with.
To sum up, it may not be a "must watch" series (unless you are Polish and you complain that we cannot make an AAA series that will be attractive to viewers living abroad), but it is worth watching. Even for the entertainment itself, because there is plenty of it here. I hope there will be a second season, and for now I rate this one at 8/10.
Szukacie dobrego, polskiego serialu? Zatem mam dla Was świetną propozycję - bardzo dobra produkcja od HBO Polska z gatunku kryminał/thriller w klimacie neo-noir. Ciekawa tematyka, brutalność, wielu dobrych i bardzo dobrych aktorów, którzy posiadają naturalne predyspozycje do odgrywania ról skurwysynów (poprzez kraj, w którym się wychowywali + inne czynniki, jak np. kultura, które ich ukształtowały), zwarta forma i w większości intrygujące wątki dają naprawdę fajny efekt. Poza tym, gdyby nie fakt, że rozpoznaję te miejsca i tych ludzi, to nie powiedziałbym że to polski serial. Montaż, realizacja, scenariusz (pomijając charakterystyczne elementy dla "polskiego podwórka"), tempo akcji, reżyseria, dialogi, sposób prowadzenia aktorów - wszystko to i inne rzeczy, których tu nie wymieniłem, stoją na dobrym, zagranicznym poziomie. Może były jakieś drobne niedoskonałości, może nawet zwróciłem na nie uwagę podczas seansu, ale z perspektywy całości nie miało to większego znaczenia. Nie ma sensu czepiać się o drobnostki, gdy cała reszta stoi na bardzo wysokim poziomie.
Fabuła pokazuje 7 dni z życia aspołecznego i introwertycznego dilera kokainy. Obsługuje on całą Warszawę - od hipsterów i lewicowo-bananowej młodzieży, poprzez raperów, znanych celebrytów lub osoby publiczne, kończąc na politykach oraz biznesmenach i bizneswoman. Jest to historia o tym, że każdy drogi towar ma swojego właściciela, który go obserwuje.Serial opowiada także o konieczności przestrzegania swoich zasad i tych obowiązujących w danym zawodzie. Każdy z tych wątków (jak i kilka innych), został poruszony i dostatecznie dobrze pokazany. Nawiązując do wcześniejszego punktu, o takich przedmiotach rzadko kiedy się zapomina i ludzie zazwyczaj o nich pamiętają. A przynajmniej ci, którym na tym zależy. Lepiej takich rzeczy nie tykać, mafia i ludzie mający duże możliwości mogą zrobić straszną krzywdę. W tym serialu pokazano nam część z nich - mogę wspomnieć o takich rzeczach, jak wywiezienie dziecka do burdeli za zachodnią granicę, z którego już najprawdopodobniej nie powrócą (do granicy podobno jeszcze można je uratować, ale im dalej od niej, tym gorzej). Albo "kolumbijski krawat" - poderżnięcie gardła w taki sposób, by wyciągnąć język z rany i np. udusić nim człowieka (jednego z polskich urzędników tak potraktowano, nie chcę skłamać ale to był bodajże początek lat '90. Dodatkowo torturowano go wcześniej w brutalny sposób.). W tym serialu jest kilka scen, które są mocne. Kończąc ten akapit, powiem o zasadach. Gdyby ich nie złamano, to do wielu wydarzeń w tym serialu by nie doszło. Główny bohater miałby spokój, inne postacie być może również. Sumując to wszystko - "Ślepnąc od Świateł" pokazuje, jak wszystko może się perfekcyjnie rozpierdolić w ciągu kilku dni...
W tym serialu zobaczymy wielu utalentowanych aktorów - zarówno tych, których można uznać za pierwszą ligę polskiej szkoły aktorskiej, jak i drugą (czyli są mniej znani, ale dobrze lub bardzo dobrze wpasowują się w powierzone im role). Mamy też debiutanta Kamila Nóżyńskiego, który choć jest IMO najsłabszym ogniwem tego serialu, to spełnił swoją rolę i nieźle wcielił się w poukładanego, chłodnie myślącego dealera. Zgodzę się, nie był to wybitny występ, trudno jest mi go nazwać chociażby dobrym, ale podobał mi się + mimo jego drewnianej gry aktorskiej, to poprawnie zrealizował swoje zadanie. Dlatego daję mu takie 6-6+/10. Za to jestem kompletnie urzeczony rolą Jana Frycza. Zagrał w cudowny sposób strasznie złego, chamskiego i brutalnego skurwiela. Człowieka zawsze dobrze poinformowanego, który nie zawaha się przed zleceniem brutalnego morderstwa dla osiągnięcia swoich celów. Bardzo mi się podobało to, jak połączył stoicki spokój i bestialsko-zwierzęce zachowanie. Podobnie mogę ocenić Janusza Chabiora, który w końcu zagrał tak, jak go lubię. Mimo, że ten potrafi się czarująco uśmiechać, wzbudzając tym szczerą sympatię, to jego kaprawa twarz i przepalony oraz przepity głos, sprawiają że tego człowieka można się bać lub trzeba uważać na niego. Tak jak Willem Dafoe jest idealnym Goblinem ze "Spider-mana" - wystarczy go oblać wiadrem z zieloną farbą. Brakowało mi tego Chabiora po wielu grzeczniejszych rolach. No i Robert Więckiewicz, który co prawda nie jest tak utalentowany jak dwóch wcześniejszych aktorów, ale dobrze wcielił się w powierzoną mu rolę.
Reasumując, nie jest to może serial typu "must watch" (no chyba, że jesteś Polakiem i narzekasz na to, że nie umiemy zrobić serialu typu AAA, który będzie atrakcyjny dla widza mieszkającego za granicą), ale warto go obejrzeć. Choćby dla samej rozrywki, bo tej jest tu mnóstwo. Mam nadzieję, że powstanie drugi sezon, a póki co oceniam ten na 8/10.
