  1. BLINDED BY THE LIGHT by Gurinder Chadha (2019)@nazirullsafry1628d

Based on a real story about Javed, a Pakistani migrant boy in the UK who got linked with what Bruce Springsteen says in his songs. Despite the disapproval from his father on the adaptation of the musical style of Bruce, Javed stand his ground and face the music (pun not intended)

All in all, it is a story of a generational struggle in moving forward. Even Javed's father moved to the UK against the wishes of his father. Now his son (Javed) is doing the same.

It is textbook Hegel’s dialectic. Thesis, antithesis, and synthesis. Migrants assimilate new cultures and values guided by traditional principles and walk out from the conflict as a new breed (synthesis).

Now, consider the fate of a society that lived guided by dogmas and orthodoxies where changes are considered blasphemous (applies to the poor, normal people only). And they wonder why others are progressing way ahead of them.
