Recently I told you that I love everything that has been creating HBO, in fact I have become addicted to their products to the point of seeing everything they make. They have recently released a series located in a kind of fantasy world where different things happen at the same time, and being totally honest I have thoughts and feelings found because although the series charm visually, argumentally seems to me that it lack a little of clarity to fully explain the story, although perhaps who did not fully understand the story is me, anyway let's begin to break it down.

[Source]() # Something that did well this first chapter of His Dark Materials was to establish some of the elements that will be key to the development of the plot, very significant elements that mark in a great way the fantasy tone of the series. One of those important elements and that the plot presents us quickly is the fact that many of the people are accompanied by beings dressed as animals who are responsible for being the guardians of people, faithful guardians who have a great role in the whole plot. After presenting that fact the series begins with a slow sequence full of suspense where we see a man leaving a baby in a kind of convent, which in the end ends up being a kind of university. From the beginning, these scenes sow the idea that this baby will become a fundamental piece in a story full of hidden things and very entertaining mysteries. Finally after that scene we are 12 years later so that from there the series begins its journey through a different world, a world where magic coexists with knowledge and science.

Because yes, there is one thing I could deduce from the first few bars of the series, it is that something key in the organizations that are shown to us at the beginning is that knowledge represents power in this series.

I said a moment ago that the plots collide because the man who gave the girl to the university and the girl quickly meet again when he goes to the university to expose his discoveries, discoveries that are basically under a veil of mystery from which we can draw few conclusions (or at least I did), a discovery that lets us know that the children are the center of all the conflict in the series and that is why they are being kidnapped, finally from the visit of the man to the university we deduce that the children have something very special in this world, something that makes them valuable and at the same time makes them run an unavoidable danger.

Finally the series unfolds with other moments where the girl is invited to leave with an extremely strange woman who emanates an aura of villain that feels miles away. This first chapter is very intense, it is full of sub-plots that feel too complicated to understand them all at the same time, it seemed to me that they wanted to show too much in this chapter and ended up not developing the main plot well. What I did like is that this chapter was loaded with important moments, moments that made me be very attentive to any possible data or element that could highlight, but above all this was a chapter that stood out at a technical level by the great technical aspect of the shots and the effects so well designed that showed us, I really felt fascinated by this world of knowledge and magic because you feel that fantasy atmosphere so interesting and spectacular that characterizes science fiction films and series. There is no doubt that the visual quality of the series is impressive, something that HBO has undoubtedly mastered over the years.
