Esta película es una adaptación animada francesa del manga japones con el mismo nombre de Jiro Taniguchi. Dirigida por Patrick Imbert, tuvo fecha de estreno en la plataforma de Netflix el pasado 30 de Noviembre y tiene una duración de 90 minutos. Este film nos cuenta la historia de Fukamachi, un apasionado fotógrafo, quien descubre en Katmandú, Nepal, una cámara que posiblemente perteneció a George Mallory, un escalador real que murió en el famoso Monte Everest en 1924. En aras de descubrir si en la cámara hay pruebas para confirmar que Mallory fue el primer hombre en lograr esta hazaña, se obsesiona y tras conocer a Habu Joji, un renombrado escalador retirado, los dos se embarcan para desenterrar esta pieza perdida de la historia. En su desarrollo, el film nos permite ir descubriendo la trágica vida de Habu y la necesidad de Makoto por encontrar las pruebas, tanto por motivos profesionales como emocionales.
This film is a French animated adaptation of the Japanese manga with the same name by Jiro Taniguchi. Directed by Patrick Imbert, it had a premiere date on the Netflix platform on November 30 and lasts 90 minutes. This film tells the story of Fukamachi, a passionate photographer, who discovers in Kathmandu, Nepal, a camera that possibly belonged to George Mallory, a real climber who died on the famous Mount Everest in 1924. Esta película gira alrededor del alpinismo y refleja la pasión de los alpinistas, quienes arriesgan su vida por vivir estas experiencias y obtener esos logros personales. Ademas del misterio que rodea la trama con la investigación de la cámara, esta película no solo nos muestra el lado deportivo, sino que a través de los recuerdos que tiene Habu sobre su pasado, aprovecha la oportunidad de cumplir su sueño y escalar el Everest, dando un giro bastante profundo a nivel psicológico de ambos personajes, dándole un punto poético y hermoso a esta gran película. Con ayuda de la gran animación y los colores que vemos en la pantalla, esta adaptación animada nos regala momentos de suspenso y nos adentra por completo a su trama.
This film revolves around mountaineering and reflects the passion of mountaineers, who risk their lives to live these experiences and obtain those personal achievements. In addition to the mystery that surrounds the plot with the investigation of the camera, this film not only shows us the sports side, but through the memories that Habu has about his past, he takes the opportunity to fulfill his dream and climb Everest, giving a quite deep turn at the psychological level of both characters, giving a poetic and beautiful point to this great film. With the help of the great animation and the colors that we see on the screen, this animated adaptation gives us moments of suspense and takes us completely into its plot.
Sin duda esta película la recomiendo, sobre todo si al igual que yo les gusta este tipo de películas donde nos muestran esa lucha entre la naturaleza y el ser humano por conquistarla, como les dije anteriormente, soy fan de películas y documentales sobre alpinismo, así que no podía dejar pasar la oportunidad de disfrutar de esta adaptación animada. A pesar de todo, es una película bastante nostálgica, y con los escenarios que nos regala, la gama de colores y la trama, es una película animada muy buena y fresca, que nos ofrece algo diferente a lo que comúnmente vemos en esta plataforma.
Without a doubt I recommend this film, especially if, like me, you like these types of films where they show us that struggle between nature and human beings to conquer it, as I said before, I am a fan of movies and documentaries about mountaineering, like this I couldn't pass up the opportunity to enjoy this animated adaptation. Despite everything, it is a fairly nostalgic film, and with the settings that it gives us, the range of colors and the plot, it is a very good and fresh animated film, which offers us something different from what we commonly see on this platform.
