That's what you might call Mark Mylod's work, where in a rather sophisticated way he not only shows the madness, but rearranges society's greatest flaws.
At first, the film may seem quiet, even slightly comedic at times, but the magic is in enchanting the viewer with a succession of elaborate dishes so that he, too, eventually becomes the main course of the film.
Renowned chef Slowik organises a feast on the island, the most expensive and outstanding feast for the eyes and palate causes many celebrities to decide to visit the island to taste unusual delicacies.
A young woman also travels to the island with her boyfriend for a date at Slowik's restaurant. While at first it seems rather eccentric, like the lack of bread for sauces, from meal to meal an evil slowly emerges that changes everything..
This is a film about madness, a madness so strong that we begin to sympathise. This is not a comedy where we will laugh, it is a horror and at the same time a drama where the story of madness and sacrifice to be perfect for the increasingly degenerate food.
The main character, despite not being fascinated by all the idealism of the kitchen, is the only one who decides to fail in a rather sophisticated way.
The film focuses on a chef who lures his victims to show them what filthy people they are in relation to others, to show their darker side so that they know that what he is preparing for them they should not consume because they do not deserve it.
This work shows, above all, the social factor, where one person leads another into the abyss, and the next one, through his inventions, kills creativity more and more.
Strongly in this film is directed the psychological factor, how much we are able to endure humiliation, our own weaknesses, the loss of everything, fights with subordinates, sacrifices or even pandemics to show that we continue to be the best for the upper economic classes.
Although we have a lot of references to ourselves, Menu is a cold-blooded horror film, where we watch in horror what the next scene will be and what the next gruesome dish will look like.
Sad but at the same time brilliantly acted and realised, one of the better films of 2022 and one of the best I've seen this year
I heartily recommend although some scenes may bring distaste remember Do not watch this film! Do not watch this film, but savour it, each scene even gently absorbing so as to savour this masterpiece. Bon Appetite 8/10

Tak można nazwać dzieło Marka Myloda, gdzie w dość wyszukany sposób pokazuje nie tylko szaleństwo, ale przestawia największe wady społeczeństwa.
Początkowo film, może wydawać się spokojny, wręcz miejscami lekko komediowy, jednak magia tkwi w tym by oczarować widza kolejnymi wyszukanymi daniami by i on ostatecznie stał się głównym daniem tego filmu.
Znany szef kuchni Slowik organizuje ucztę na wyspie, najdroższa i najbardziej wybitna uczta dla oczow i podniebienia powoduje, ze wiele gwiazd postanawia odwiedzić wyspę, by skosztować niezwykłych przysmaków.
Na wyspę płynie tez młoda kobieta, która wraz z chłopakiem na randkę właśnie do restauracji Slowika. O ile początkowo wydaje się dość ekscentrycznie, jak brak chleba do sosów, tak z posiłku na posiłek powoli wychodzi zło, które zmienia wszystko.
To film o szaleństwie, o szaleństwie tak mocnym, ze zaczynamy współczuć. To nie jest komedia, gdzie będziemy się śmiać, to horror i jednocześnie dramat gdzie historia obłędu i poświęcenia by być idealnym dla coraz bardziej wynaturzonych potraw.
Główna bohaterka mimo, ze nie jest zafascynowana całym idealizmem kuchni jako jedyna postanawia zawalczyć w dość wyszukany sposób.
Film skupia się na szefie kuchni, gdzie zwabią swe ofiary by im ukazać jakimi plugawymi są ludźmi wobec innych ukazać ich mroczniejsza stronę by wiedzieli, ze to co dla nich szykuje nie powinni konsumować gdyż nie zasługują na to.
To dzieło pokazuje przede wszystkim czynnik społeczny, gdzie jedna osoba prowadzi w przepaść kolejna, a kolejna przez swoje wymysły coraz bardziej zabija twórczość.
Mocno w tym filmie jest nakierowany czynnik psychiczny, ile jesteśmy w stanie znieść upokorzeń, własnych słabości, utraty wszystkiego, walki z podwładnymi, wyrzeczeń czy nawet pandemii by pokazać, ze dalej jesteśmy najlepsi dla wyższych klas ekonomicznych.
Mimo, ze dużo mamy odniesień do nas samych to jednak Menu to zimnokrwisty horror, gdzie oglądamy z przerażeniem co będzie w następnej scenie i jak będzie wyglądać kolejne makabryczne danie.
Smutny, ale jednocześnie świetnie zagrany i zrealizowany, jeden z lepszych filmów 2022 i jeden z lepszych jakie widziałem w tym roku
