This is me continuing my marvel movies and Thor is the next on my list. And to be honest, it was worth the watch. This would be the third time I am watching Thor, and it has always been a joy to watch. It started with something chaotic before the back story came into play and that was one of the most captivating moments in the movie. It was a moment when god fell down from Asgard. But you know watching it for the third time made me ask, Are the people of Asgard truly gods, or are they just another species with powers. I did not really follow the Thor character personally except for the very first Thor movie, so I am hoping to get more answers in the coming parts.
So here’s the deal with Thor, in my perspective he was too arrogant to deserve the Throne of Asgard, too impulsive to hold power, He would have been better at following orders, but he doesn’t even follow orders. The guy’s character was just too hot headed. Loki on the other hand is even more dangerous. From the moment I saw him in the beginning, even when I was watching the movie for the first time, one thing was certain: He was dangerous. He had this kind of danger that wasn’t loud, but was there, lurking and waiting, that kind that you trust knowing that you will get betrayed but still end up trusting because when the betrayal comes it still hits hard even after you saw it coming.
The fact that you understood a lot and said nothing, created scenarios that made people act, he reads people like the back of his hand and can make them do their biddings. If Loki was in real life, he would have made a really good kind, and president. That kind of ruler that doesn’t rule with an Iron fist, but a subtle one, so subtle that you would never know that subtleness has an Iron grip to it. Although the story was majorly about Thor and it painted Loki the Villain I feel Loki was even a more standout character at the end of the day because there were a lot of unspoken truths about his personality. The fact that he was taken from his real family and even though he was treated nicely, it was as though everyone expected that he would forget his heritage just like that. And let’s be honest, you can not have a brother like Thor and not get jealous LOL.
Thor was really Odin's Son, because looking at Odin, it felt like he was impulsive when he was younger. I mean sending your son to earth and stripping him of his powers was really something you know… Then it turned out he did not really strip him but only used an opportunity to teach his son a good lesson. But what if Thor had died thinking he lost his powers, would Odin have forgiven himself. Yeah watching it for the third time just brought about a lot of questions, but then it was a really epic watch.
