Review of the First Episode of FX Fighter Kurumi-chan

Review by @kraken99 🏆#119 🔥1 🎵46 🎬41 📺17 · 12h · of FX Senshi Kurumi-chan · 3 views

The first episode of FX Fighter Kurumi-chan is much more substantial than it seems at first glance. Given this anime’s animation style, it might appear to be one of those shows packed with fan service and a story that’s not particularly interesting—but nothing could be further from the truth. For fans of this genre, this anime promises a great story, as it’s much more complex and touches on themes that run much deeper than they appear.

The episode begins when Kurumi is still a high school student; she’s a model student who likes to get good grades, but at home she’s dealing with a rather unusual situation because her mom has lost a large sum of money—about 20 million yen—which leaves the family in a very difficult situation and her mom on the verge of a breakdown because of what she’s done. Her mother lost all that money trading forex, which drives Kurumi to look for ways to help her mother recover the money before her father finds out and they end up divorcing over it.

Her mother starts working very hard to try to recoup the money she lost, working double shifts to find a solution. However, the day her husband—and Kurumi’s father—returns has arrived, causing her mother to do something crazy.

Thus, the family is torn apart, and the emotional blow to Kurumi is quite severe. But far from causing her to turn away from the world of trading and FX, Kurumi sets out to earn 20 million yen—as a sort of revenge for the money her mom lost. Starting in high school, she begins to learn everything there is to know about trading and FX, until the day comes when she can trade freely since she’s now of legal age.

As I mentioned earlier, after this time jump, we see Kurumi as a college student who has saved money to start out with a solid capital base and whose entire life has revolved around seeking “revenge”—or finding a way to recover the money her mother lost years ago, when Kurumi was still a child.

What we ultimately see with Kurumi is that the market is far too volatile, and if you don’t know how to trade in it, you can lose a lot of money—as we witness Kurumi losing, in a matter of seconds, all the money she’d worked so hard to earn. She loses 300,000 yen in a matter of seconds, which leaves Kurumi in tears.

This first episode of FX Fighter Kurumi-chan is very interesting because it tells the story of Kurumi, a girl who lost her mother because her mother couldn’t control herself and let herself be swayed by what others said; there’s a moment when her mother even says, “Everyone told me it would go up,” referring to the investment she had made.

The drama is well-crafted, and I think the anime presents the story in a responsible way, since it never suggests that trading or FX is a quick way to make money—quite the opposite, in fact. It emphasizes that you need to know a lot about it and that you should never bet money you can’t afford to lose.

And even the first episode of FX Fighter Kurumi-chan, which looks like it could be a great story—not many anime tackle this topic, so I hope the upcoming episodes are much better than this one.

    Buen post.
