Hello friends of the cinephile community par excellence, I want to share with you my extraordinary experience watching again this movie, which I saw when I was a kid and maybe that's why I didn't have a very clear concept of the message implicit in its plot. It is the film "Enemy of Mine", a production that dates back to 1985 and features the stellar performances of Dennis Quaid and Louis Gossett Jr. It is inevitable that childhood memories come to mind when watching the scenes in which two beings from different worlds and cultures confront each other in a war to colonize the planets with the greatest natural wealth; But not everything is left in that fight, but there is a hatred and rejection between them, but it is more notable on the part of the human "Willis" than the Dracon "Jerry"; who after destroying the ships of their respective friends, fall on a desolate planet and now, paradoxically, must join forces to survive in the face of the dangers that exist there.

Hola amigos de la comunidad cinéfila por excelencia, quiero compartir con ustedes mi extraordinaria experiencia al ver de nuevo esta película, la cual vi cuando era un niño y quizás por eso no tenía un concepto muy claro del mensaje implícito en su trama. Se trata del filme “Enemigo Mío”, una producción que data del año 1985 y que cuenta con las actuaciones estelares de Dennis Quaid y Louis Gossett Jr. Es inevitable que lleguen recuerdos de la infancia, al ver el transcurrir de las escenas, en las que dos seres de diferentes mundos y culturas, se enfrentan en una guerra por colonizar los planetas con mayores riquezas naturales; pero no todo se queda en esa lucha, sino que existe un odio y rechazo entre sí, pero es más notable por parte del humano “Willis”, que del Dracon “Jerry”; quienes luego de destruir las naves de sus respectivos amigos, caen en un planeta desolado y ahora, paradójicamente, deben unir sus fuerzas para sobrevivir ante los peligros que allí existen.

I was pleased to remember how Jerry teaches Willis what a kind of book he carries with him says and as he reads it, he goes into a kind of trance. Time passed and now the enemies learn about each other, their language and how to survive, they even save each other's lives; so that initial hatred was transformed into a huge and necessary friendship. This represents an unexpected twist in the movie, making it more interesting.

By a natural condition of the Drancs, Jerry reproduces by himself at a certain common age, the problem is that with the arrival of his son Zammis, the particular friend of Willis dies, but not before making Jerry swear to bring Zammis to his planet of origin (what a commitment); now the life of Willis takes an unexpected turn, because he becomes a surrogate father and educator of Zammis. This story never ceases to amaze me and from this chapter is unexplored ground for me, because I had not seen the whole movie before; I have seen the conversion of Willis, who hated the Dracs, but now he has lived an experience that has changed his life completely and he is disappointed to see other men, mistreating senselessly the enslaved Dracs, because now Willis Davidge knows them in reality and knows that they are not as violent as humans.

Despite being separated, when Willis recovers he returns to rescue the little Dracs and finally fulfills his promise to take care of him and bring him back home. It's an impressive story and although the effects are a bit rough (due to the era) the plot is involving, the changing context from enmity to brotherhood is a fascinating journey. The little ones need the care and guidance of their parents and it is indeed captivating to see two races that, being "quasi-natural" enemies, then become each other's greatest hope for continued existence with a new vision. The message it impresses is the transformation from enemies to friends, it's all in the eye of the beholder who sees reality as it is in essence. I have seen again the values that this film transmits and it has moved me. It has been an excellent experience, which I share with you today.

A pesar de ser separados, cuando Willis se recupera regresa para rescatar al pequeño Dracs y finalmente cumple su promesa de cuidarlo y levarlo de vuelta a casa. Es una historia impresionante y a pesar de que los efectos son algo toscos (debido a la época) la trama resulta envolvente, el cambiante contexto de enemistad a hermandad es un viaje fascinante. He visto nuevamente los valores que transmite este filme y me ha conmovido. HA sido una excelente experiencia, que hoy comparto con ustedes.
