Holiii, hace unos días vi esta serie en Netflix, me causaba demasiada curiosidad porque había visto bastantes comentarios acerca de esta en redes sociales, donde alababan muchísimo el ingenio y la originalidad que caracteriza a esta serie.
Yo no soy muchos de ver series últimamente por cuestiones de tiempo, no me gusta quedarme con la intriga y, generalmente, veo series ya fuera de emisión para así poder ver todos o la mayoría de capítulos de manera corrida.
Hiii, a few days ago I saw this series on Netflix, I was too curious because I had seen many comments about it on social networks, where they praised a lot the wit and originality that characterizes this series.
I'm not much of a series watcher lately because of time issues, I don't like to stay with the intrigue and, generally, I watch series already out of broadcast so I can see all or most of the chapters in a row.

It was explained to me that this series was different, that you didn't have to follow a timeline like any other series but that each chapter was a different story, apart from the rest; this drew my attention to the material but, without a doubt, what made me sit down to watch it was the fact that each chapter is created by a different team.
This had a huge impact on me, because there are 35 chapters in total, which means that there were 35 different production teams; I could only think of the great investment that this meant.

I started watching it and, indeed, each chapter was a unique story, with totally different plots among them but following the same central idea, which is a dystopia.
The animations are amazing, some better than others of course; it even has a Live Action episode although, I admit, I didn't like that one at all.
Of the three seasons, the second one was the one I liked the least because I felt it was very flat, the stories were not as elaborated as in the first and even the third season.

Vol. 1
• La Ventaja de Sonnie
Este capítulo me recordó demasiado a Arcane, a la cuidad de Zaun; el estilo de animación, los sucesos, los personajes, sus vestimentas, la forma de gesticular y hablar; todo me recordó demasiado a Arcane y por un momento llegué a pensar que se podía tratar de unos mismos animadores. El plot twist de este capítulo es increíble y te quedas necesitando más explicaciones pero, a la vez, satisfecho.
• El Yogur que Conquistó al Mundo
Este capítulo fue una locura, la serie te viene presentando situaciones y escenarios algo series (sin contar La Era de Hielo) y de repente te presentan este episodio que es un chiste en sí solo pero con un trasfondo demasiado real; lo que ahí se cuenta es algo que, realmente, sí puede suceder con respecto a los temas políticos y, eso, es lo que realmente aterra de esta capítulo.
• Sonnie's Edge
This chapter reminded me too much of Arcane, of the city of Zaun; the animation style, the events, the characters, their clothes, the way they gesture and speak; everything reminded me too much of Arcane and for a moment I thought it could be the same animators. The plot twist of this chapter is incredible and you are left needing more explanations but, at the same time, satisfied.
• When the Yogurt Took Over
This episode was crazy, the series has been presenting you with situations and scenarios (not counting The Ice Age) and suddenly you are presented with this episode that is a joke in itself but with a very real background; what is told there is something that can really happen with respect to political issues and that is what is really scary about this episode.
• Testigo
Este capítulo es increíble, más que por la trama, que ya de por sí es magnifica, por la animación; es un estilo muy particular y original del animador, tanto que en la tercera temporada este vuelve a ser el creador de un capítulo y puedes darte cuenta que es de esta persona. • Buena Cacería
Sin dudas, este fue mi segundo favorito de esta temporada; amo la historia y cómo te presentan los efectos de la industrialización en las civilizaciones de antes, toca temas de magia y del empoderamiento femenino; al principio pensé que era una historia más con temas feministas, pero la manera que abordaron el problema me dejó sin palabras; sin mencionar lo hermosa que es Yan y lo perfecta de su transformación.
• The Witness
This chapter is incredible, more than for the plot, which is already magnificent, for the animation; it is a very particular and original style of the animator, so much so that in the third season he returns to be the creator of a chapter and you can realize that it is by this person. I can assure you that you will not expect at all how the story unfolds, much less how it ends.
• Good Hunting
Without a doubt, this was my second favorite of this season; I love the story and how they present you with the effects of industrialization on the civilizations of the past, it touches on magic and female empowerment; at first I thought it was just another story with feminist themes, but the way they approached the problem left me speechless; not to mention how beautiful Yan is and how perfect her transformation is.
• Mutantes
Este es mi favorito, sin duda alguna y, discúlpenme porque, sé que esto es muy furro de mi parte pero amo los hombres lobo como todo lo que tenga que ver con ellos, así que este capítulo traté específicamente de ellos fue razón suficiente para amarlo. This is my favorite, hands down and, excuse me because, I know this is very furry of me but I love werewolves as much as anything to do with them, so this chapter dealt specifically with them was reason enough to love it. One thing that caught my attention about this series is the fact of the little or almost nonexistent censorship it has; in fact, I noticed it was because I was already stunned to see penises and boobs, but then I realized that it is normal, they weren't showing too much or intentionally, they are simply parts of the human body like any other, but we are so used to them being censored in excess that, when they aren't, they can become stupefying.
• Zima Blue
If I had to summarize this chapter in one word, it would be Blue; the predominant color is light blue and almost all the colors that are seen are derivatives or mixtures with blue; this chapter has a somewhat desperate but very true existential background, similar to what happened with Buddha and his path to enlightenment.
Vol. 2
Esta temporada de verdad que no me atrapo y de todos los capítulos, solo dos me gustaron
• Hielo
Este, a nivel de trama, es muy irrelevante pero, con respecto a la animación es genial; me encanta que es estilo dibujo como muchas caricaturas de Cartoon Network, es bastante oscura y vuelve a tener una paleta en base a colores azules, blancos y negros.
• Respuesta Evolutiva
Volvemos con temas futuristas acerca de los problemas relacionados con la tecnología y el egoísmo humano, como el anterior, con respecto a la trama no hay mucho que decir pero la animación, considero, que es la mejor de TODA la serie; es tan real que hasta, en cierto punto, te puede llegar a incomodar. Cuando vi este capítulo tuve una especie de orgasmo audiovisual porque siempre me ha encantado las diferentes ramas de la animación y ver algo tan nítido como tan semejante a la realidad fue, sin dudas, divino.
This season really didn't grab me and out of all the chapters, I only liked two of them.
• Ice
This one, plot-wise, is very irrelevant but, animation-wise it's great; I love that it's cartoon style like many Cartoon Network cartoons, it's quite dark and again has a palette based on blue, white and black colors.
• Pop Squad
We are back with futuristic themes about the problems related to technology and human selfishness, like the previous one, with respect to the plot there isn't much to say but the animation, I consider, is the best of ALL the series; it is so real that even, at a certain point, it can make you uncomfortable. When I saw this chapter I had a kind of audiovisual orgasm because I have always loved the different branches of animation and seeing something so sharp and so similar to reality was, without a doubt, divine.
Vol. 3
• La Noche de los Minimuertos
Es gracioso porque, muchos de la crítica, catalogaron a este como el peor episodio de toda la serie y, para mí, fue el mejor de todos; es una comedia excelente y, prácticamente, no necesitaron nada de diálogos para lograr ser chistoso. Soy fanática de la animación stop motion y que este capítulo sea hecho de esa manera, me pareció increíble.
• Jíbaro
Este capítulo fue animado por el mismo animador que Testigo, como comenté, se nota un estilo muy particular que lo caracteriza; es tan hipnotizante la belleza de la animación como los juegos de cámara que te marean y aturden expresamente, que se te olvida prestarle atención a la historia y lo que cuenta esta. La historia realmente es muy buena y tiene un trasfondo bastante importante, pero la razón por la que lo catalogo como mi episodio favorito es por la animación tan increíble.
• Night of the Mini Dead
It's funny because many critics called this the worst episode of the whole series and, for me, it was the best of all; it's an excellent comedy and, practically, they didn't need any dialogue to make it funny. I'm a fan of stop motion animation and I thought this episode was incredible.
• Jibaro
This episode was animated by the same animator as The Witness, as I said, you can notice a very particular style that characterizes him; the beauty of the animation is so hypnotizing, as well as the camera games that make you dizzy and stun you, that you forget to pay attention to the story and what it tells. The story is really very good and has a very important background, but the reason why I consider it my favorite episode is because of the incredible animation.

Each episode lasts approximately 10 to 17 minutes, that's why it's so easy to consume the whole series in two days, maybe even in one; the fact that each episode is quite short, with a new story and different animations, gives you the feeling that not as much time has passed as you think.
I watched this series in two days, but it was because I started watching it late at night, but if I had started early, I would surely finish it in one day.
Como cineaste creo que esta clase de proyectos son una obra de arte en todos sus sentidos, tanto por la cantidad de trabajo que hay por detrás, como por el ingenio y la inversión que significa; me pareció una idea espectacularmente original, así que considero que, muchas productoras a futuro, la utilizarán de ejemplo y/o inspiración para más contenido de este estilo.

As a cineaste I think this kind of project is a work of art in every sense, both for the amount of work behind it, as well as for the ingenuity and investment it means; I thought it was a spectacularly original idea, so I think that, in the future, many production companies will use it as an example and/or inspiration for more content of this style.
