I don't know if I mentioned it, but I'm not a fan of this anthology. Not because she's weak or anything like that. This is a show that requires the right mood - it is not a fairy tale that can be watched until dinner or lunch. Yes, it is also not an extremely ambitious work, but in order to fully enjoy it (both visually and in terms of the script), it is worth being rested. I don't know what it looks like in the case of season 1 and 2 (I only saw 2 episodes of S1, but I did not like it then, I plan to catch up with it in a few months, and after the second break, I want to do the same with S2 - supposedly the weakest of the whole three), but most of the episodes of S3 can make you reflect. As I said, this is not some "Monster", "Westworld" or "House of Cards", but the content of these short episodes is noticeably more complicated than the "regular" cartoon for adult viewers. You have to pay attention to details, especially in the case of two episodes that tell the story through images, without dialogue and exposure. There is often no time for the latter - you have to introduce the characters, introduce us to the world, present the problem of a given episode, and at the same time make a coherent story out of it. I won't be reviewing the entire show in a standard way because it doesn't make sense. The episodes have a different visual form, theme, and take place in different places and in different epochs. Instead, I will write a separate opinion for each of them. I'll start with the ones that I liked least.
I liked the episode the least. It is true that he made me laugh a few times, touched on a few topics that I thought or wrote about (environmental protection, the impact of technology on humanity, people's mentality, etc.), but I did not like him. I don't know why, I think it's because I didn't like the three heroes who show us around the Earth. The robotic trio also rejected me from this series in season 1. A good idea (I am infatuated with it since I watched "A.I" - probably Spielberg's last great film), the production too, but it did not win my recognition.
Kill team kill - I watched it with Polish dubbing and I felt like I was watching a new cartoon from Walaszek (a Polish comedy cartoon creator, something like "Rick and Morty" or "South Park", but in Polish atmosphere). Lots of swearing, blood and rude situations, but in much better shape. There is not much I can say about him - cool and bloody action. I really liked the concept of strengthening the bear with armor and weapons - this animal is very strong in itself, and after upgrading it is as tough as a tank. I once saw 2 documentaries where they talked about the possibilities of a bear in terms of creating an armor that can stand up to it. From that moment on, I was wondering what would happen if the animal was strengthened with technology, not a human, and ... thanks to Netflix, I saw what it looked like.
In Vaulted Halls Entombed - I don't remember this episode apart from the spider scenes (she made quite an impression on me and my girlfriend), except that I liked the previous two even less.
Night of the Mini Dead - As soon as the episode started, I said something like that to Asia - "What, they will fuck and they will lead to ..." (a few moments have passed) "yes, typical of humans, let's fuck in the cemetery, get pissed off by the ghosts or God ... what could have gone wrong? XD ". Well, I predicted the future, not the first time in this episode anyway (but I will not spoil, let me just say this - watch with full concentration until the end of the episode! At one point I thought to myself that I know how it will end). Nice comedy episode, when I watched it, I thought I was watching the animation of "Pat and Mat" but in the adult version and with a bigger budget and possibilities. I do not like zombies and I would not be able to watch this type of movie in a full-length version (unless with interesting characters and a good director like Taika Waititi or James Gunn), but I liked the short format very much. The episode was very good from start to finish. It's a shame there are so few stop-motion animations, sometimes I miss them. Especially when its creators are creative, like the authors of "Pat and Mat" or "Night of the Mini Dead".
Mason's Rat - Another cute episode. This time a combination of a classic idea from cartoons from several dozen years ago (I do not know if they still happen - when I was a child, I saw various episodes of cartoons such as "Casper", "Wallace and Gromit", or full-length animations on similar topics) with a new technology . I've always had a certain sympathy for them - I wasn't a fan of them, but if she was on TV or borrowed a DVD movie from someone, or went to the movies with my dad, I never complained. When we watched this episode, we laughed most often - be it the big but cute and civilized rats or the good farmer. By the way, when I was in the UK, I saw such giant rats. The largest one was 2.5 meters long (from the head to the end of the tail) - we were not counting, of course. We saw him in the local newspaper.
The Very Pulse of the Machine - This was the first episode I saw. Friend Krystian said he watched three episodes and recommended each one, so I read their descriptions and chose this one. The finale reminded me of the ending of the 1st movie "Ghost in the Shell" - ie the combination of Motoko Kusanagi with the program. Besides, great animation and line - you can see that Polygon got time and money for its implementation. I also liked the plot - especially after listening to a dozen episodes of Astrophase (for readers from outside Poland - a very good Youtuber, who talks about the cosmos and everything that is associated with it), in which he talked about what life can be like on other planets. Ie. that it could have developed in a completely different way than what it looks like on Earth. It is true that this version is most likely pure fantasy, but it was nice to see something like that.
Bad Traveling - Episode directed by David Fincher (one of the most important producers of this show) and you can feel it from the beginning. "Swarm" and "Jibaro" were also very well directed, but I didn't feel it that much. It's hard for me to explain it, I'm not an expert on these aspects, and it's hard for me to translate my thoughts into words. This is simply visible in the small elements - dialogues, conducting the story in a compact way, presenting the characters, the fact that the director does not waste time and uses each scene to show us something. True, these are the characteristics of any good and experienced director, but I think it is more difficult to do it in short format, when every second and scene are worth their weight in gold and need to be used 100%. On the other hand, some might say I'm raving, because what's the problem with creating the outlines of the characters, the outline of the world and adding a short, intense story to it? Well, I can agree with that - for long productions you have to be able to write characters, create a much longer set, and think about a lot of other things. Nevertheless, this episode stands out on the directorial level from the rest. I felt it from the very first scene and the feeling didn't let go of me until the end. In fact, for the rest of the evening I thought about the giant crustacean and the crew member who coldly and brutally calculated who should be sacrificed for the greater good. Although we don't know much about him, I was captivated by his character and intelligence - the man calculated everything perfectly for himself. Of course, he was very lucky, but on the other hand, he saw an opportunity where many people would lose their mind out of fear.
Swarm - When I watched this episode, it felt like it was a Live Action version of "StarCraft", specifically a one-planet scene inhabited by Zergs managed by Cerebrate (creatures created by the Overmind to manage armies). In fact, I had the impression that the authors of this episode transferred some scenes known from both games to the TV screen (in the sense of movies between missions, briefing frames). And this woman, in some ways, reminded me of Kerrigan how she began to turn into the Overmind's child. Of course, she didn't have the power of the Queen of Blades, I mean other aspects. And even if none of them were inspired by Blizzard's game, these people could create the perfect cinematic adaptation of the game. Besides, I really liked the political and social threads. Although humanity has come this far, we are still not able to come up with a very effective system that would make the best use of humanity's potential and keep evil to a minimum. A beautiful episode, I will definitely come back to it more than once, like "Jibaro" or "Bad Traveling".
Jibaro - I won't be original, it's my favorite episode. Not only because of the visual layer (it looks fucking beautiful! It was the first time I wanted to see something in 4K resolution), but also the directing, atmosphere, script, a sad but true moral, an idea for a romance with a metal mermaid with a deadly voice and a deaf, but greedy knight. Just a cool mindfuck. The plot is not very original, yes. I saw various cartoons with a similar plot (and not only Western, a long time ago on Polish television, Chinese or Russian cartoons were broadcast more often, which were much weaker than the Western ones and there were also similar threads there), which presented a similar thread - sometimes better, sometimes worse. However, none of them impressed me as much as this one - although there is no intelligible sound here (we have a dialect of these knights and the roar of a siren), there are so many emotions that you can pull them out with a dozen buckets. In the case of a mermaid, we feel anger, sadness, disappointment, pure fury that fights love for a short while. The phenomenal creature quickly gave up compassion, though it was clear to the end that he was not doing it with a smile on his face or a sense of satisfaction. In turn, her chosen one quickly showed his true face, as befits a human being. Unfortunately, that's the way it is with us that most people lose their minds as soon as they see a gigantic property, a beautiful woman (or man) or something of comparable value. His greed, duplicity and ruthlessness were felt like emotions or blows to "One Piece" or DBZ. Before finishing this text, I watched the NrGeek movie about what the process of creating this movie could look like (the movie is available on the Granaliza channel, if someone cares. It is only in Polish, info for foreign readers.). It didn't shake my opinion. Yes, I was fooled a bit with clever tricks, but this is the magic of cinema. A man going to the cinema must take into account that the creators will deceive him a bit - to some extent or in some area. Besides, is it important if the end result is beautiful and its execution was clever and creative? Episode 10/10 for me - as I said in the ending, I don't want to rate all the episodes, but in this case I'm making an exception. I clapped at the end for ingenuity and high level of workmanship. In the case of zombies, I also clapped, but that's where I got surprised by the awesome punch line at the end of the episode. In the case of Fincher's episode, I was thrilled with the direction and the script. "Jibaro" was no better than him in this matter, but he combined the best things in "Love, Death and Robots" and at a very high level. I'm not surprised they left it for the end, it's the most powerful.
In summary, I recommend it to everyone. Great entertainment for both body and soul. The anthology keeps it high in all respects - music, animation, narration, screenplay. Personally, I recommend that you do not watch them chronologically, but start with those episodes whose descriptions intrigued you the most. There will be no evaluation, because I would have to evaluate each episode separately, and I do not want to, because if I did not give them, I would not be satisfied with them anyway and I will change my mind (at least to a minimal extent). However, it is definitely worth paying Netflix for a monthly subscription to watch this work. It is worth it.
Nie wiem, czy o tym wspominałem, ale nie jestem fanem tej antologii. Nie dlatego, że jest słaba czy coś w tym stylu. To jest show, do którego trzeba mieć odpowiedni nastrój - to nie jest jakaś bajka, którą można obejrzeć do kolacji, czy obiadu. Owszem, nie jest to też wybitnie ambitne dzieło, ale żeby w pełni się nim rozkoszować (zarówno warstwą wizualną, jak i scenariuszem), to warto być wypoczętym. Nie wiem jak to wygląda w przypadku 1 i 2 sezonu (widziałem tylko 2 odcinki S1, ale wtedy nie przypadły mi do gustu, planuję go nadrobić za kilka miesięcy, a po równie drugiej przerwie, chcę zrobić to samo z S2 - podobno najsłabszym z całej trójki), ale większość odcinków S3 może wywołać u Was refleksje. Jak już mówiłem, nie jest to jakiś "Monster", "Westworld", czy "House of Cards", ale treść tych krótkich odcinków jest zauważalnie bardziej skomplikowana niż "zwykła" kreskówka dla dorosłych widzów. Trzeba zwracać uwagę na szczegóły, zwłaszcza w przypadku dwóch odcinków, które opowiadają nam historię obrazem, bez dialogów i ekspozycji. Na to drugie często nie ma czasu - trzeba przedstawić bohaterów, wprowadzić nas do świata, przedstawić problem danego odcinka, a jednocześnie zrobić z tego zwartą historię. Nie będę recenzował całego show w standardowy sposób, bo nie ma to sensu. Odcinki mają różną formę wizualną, tematykę oraz dzieją się w różnych miejscach i w odmiennych epokach. Zamiast tego, napiszę osobną opinię o każdym z nich. Zacznę od tych, które najmniej polubiłem.
Najmniej mi się spodobał 1 odcinek. Co prawda kilka razy mnie rozbawił, poruszył kilka tematów, o których myślałem lub pisałem (ochrona środowiska, wpływ technologii na ludzkość, mentalność ludzi etc.), ale nie polubiłem go. Nie wiem czemu, wydaje mi się że wynika to z tego, że nie polubiłem trójki bohaterów, która oprowadza nas po Ziemi. Trio robotów również mnie odrzuciło od tego serialu przy 1 sezonie. Pomysł dobry (jestem w nim zauroczony odkąd obejrzałem "A.I" - chyba ostatni świetny film Spielberga), realizacja również, ale nie zdobyła mojego uznania.
Kill team kill - Oglądałem go z polskim dubbingiem i czułem się, jakbym oglądał nową kreskówką od Walaszka (taki polski twórca komediowych kreskówek, coś jak "Rick and Morty" albo "South Park", ale w polskich klimatach). Dużo przekleństw, krwi i niegrzecznych sytuacji, ale w dużo lepszej formie. Niewiele mogę o nim powiedzieć - fajna i krwawa akcja. Bardzo podobał mi się koncept wzmocnienia niedźwiedzia pancerzem i uzbrojeniem - to zwierzę samo w sobie jest bardzo silne, a po ulepszeniu jest twardy jak czołg. Kiedyś widziałem 2 programy dokumentalne, w których mówili o możliwościach niedźwiedzia w kontekście stworzenia pancerza, który wytrzyma starcie z nim. Od tamtego momentu zastanawiałem się, co by było gdyby to zwierzaka wzmocnić technologią, a nie człowieka i... dzięki Netflixowi przekonałem się, jakby to wyglądało.
In Vaulted Halls Entombed - Nie pamiętam tego odcinka poza scenami z pająkami (zrobiła na mnie i mojej dziewczynie dość duże wrażenie), poza tym, że dwa wcześniejsze podobały mi się jeszcze mniej.
Night of the Mini Dead - Gdy tylko odcinek się zaczął, to powiedziałem coś w tym stylu do Asi - "Co, oni się będą ruchać i doprowadzą tym samym do..." (minęło kilka chwil) "tak, typowe dla ludzi, ruchajmy się na cmentarzu, niech się wkurzą duchy albo Bóg... co mogło pójść nie tak? XD". No i przewidziałem przyszłość, nie pierwszy raz przy tym odcinku zresztą (ale nie będę spoilerował, powiem po prostu tak - oglądajcie w pełnym skupieniu do zakończenia odcinka! W pewnym momencie powiedziałem do siebie w myślach, że wiem jak to się zakończy). Fajny odcinek komediowy, gdy go oglądałem, to wydawało mi się, że oglądałem animację "Pat i Mat", ale w wersji dla dorosłych i z większym budżetem oraz możliwościami. Nie przepadam za zombie i nie byłbym w stanie obejrzeć tego typu film w pełnometrażowej wersji (chyba, że z ciekawymi bohaterami i dobrym reżyserem, jak Taika Waititi lub James Gunn), ale krótki format bardzo mi przypadł do gustu. Epizod był bardzo dobry od początku do samego końca. Szkoda, że powstaje tak mało animacji poklatkowych, czasem za nimi tęsknię. Swoją drogą, jak byłem w UK, to widziałem takie olbrzymie szczury. Największy miał 2.5 metra długości (licząc od głowy po koniec ogona) - oczywiście nie liczyliśmy. Zobaczyliśmy go w lokalnej gazecie.

Tzn. że mogło się rozwinąć w zupełnie inny sposób niż tak, jak to wygląda u nas na Ziemi. Co prawda ta wersja, to najprawdopodobniej czysta fantazja, ale miło było na coś takiego popatrzeć.
Bad Travelling - Odcinek wyreżyserowany przez Davida Finchera (jednego z najważniejszych producentów tego show) i to czuć od początku. "Swarm" i "Jibaro" również były świetnie wyreżyserowane, ale nie czułem tego tak bardzo. Trudno mi to wyjaśnić, nie jestem ekspertem od tych aspektów i trudno mi przenieść moje myśli na słowa. To po prostu widać po drobnych elementach - dialogach, poprowadzeniu historii w zwarty sposób, przedstawieniu postaci, tym że reżyser nie marnuje czasu i wykorzystuje każdą scenę, by coś nam pokazać. Fakt, są to cechy każdego dobrego i doświadczonego reżysera, ale wydaje mi się, że trudniej jest to zrobić w krótkim formacie, gdy każda sekunda i scena są na wagę złota i trzeba je wykorzystać na 100%. Z drugiej strony, niektórzy mogą powiedzieć, że bredzę, bo co to za problem stworzyć kontury postaci, zarys świata i dodać do tego krótką, intensywną historię? Cóż, mogę się z tym zgodzić - do długich produkcji trzeba umieć napisać bohaterów, stworzyć znacznie dłuższy plan i przemyśleć wiele innych rzeczy. Niemniej, ten odcinek wyróżnia się na płaszczyźnie reżyserskiej na tle pozostałych. Czułem to od pierwszej sceny i to uczucie nie puściło mnie aż do końca. Ba, przez resztę wieczoru myślałem o olbrzymim skorupiaku i członku załogi, który chłodno i brutalnie kalkulował, kogo należy poświęcić dla większego dobra. Mimo, że niewiele o nim wiemy, to urzekła mnie jego postać i inteligencja - mężczyzna doskonale sobie wszystko wykalkulował. Oczywiście, miał mnóstwo szczęścia, ale z drugiej strony - dostrzegł szansę tam, gdzie wielu ludzi straciłoby rozum ze strachu.
Swarm - Gdy oglądałem ten odcinek, to czułem się jakby to była wersja Live Action "StarCrafta", a konkretnie scena z jednej planety, na której mieszkają Zergi zarządzane przez Cerebrate (istoty, które stworzył Overmind do zarządzania armiami). Ba, miałem wrażenie że twórcy tego odcinka, przenieśli pewne sceny znane z obu gier na ekran telewizora (w sensie z filmów między misjami, kadrami z briefingu). No i ta kobieta, przypominała mi pod pewnymi względami Kerrigan, jak zaczęła się zmieniać w dziecko Overminda. Oczywiście nie miała mocy Królowej Ostrzy, chodzi mi o inne aspekty. A nawet jeśli nikt z nich nie inspirował się grą studia Blizzard, to ci ludzie mogliby stworzyć idealną, filmową adaptację tej gry. Poza tym, bardzo podobały mi się wątki polityczno-społeczne. Mimo, że ludzkość zaszła już tak daleko, to nadal nie jesteśmy w stanie wymyślić bardzo skutecznego systemu, który by najlepiej wykorzystał potencjał ludzkości oraz ograniczył zło do minimum. Piękny odcinek, na pewno nie raz do niego wrócę, jak do "Jibaro", czy "Bad Travelling".
Jibaro - Nie będę oryginalny, to mój ulubiony odcinek. Nie tylko ze względu na warstwę wizualną (to wygląda kurewsko pięknie! Po raz pierwszy zapragnąłem zobaczyć coś w rozdzielczości 4K), ale i reżyserię, klimat, scenariusz, smutny, ale prawdziwy morał, pomysł na romans z metalową syreną o zabójczym głosie i głuchym, ale chciwym rycerzu. No po prostu zajebisty mindfuck. Fabuła nie jest zbyt oryginalna, zgoda. Widziałem różne kreskówki z podobną fabułą (i to nie tylko zachodnie, dawno temu w polskiej telewizji, częściej emitowano chińskie lub rosyjskie kreskówki, które były znacznie słabsze niż te zachodnie i tam też bywały podobne wątki), które przedstawiały podobny wątek - czasem lepiej, czasem gorzej. Żaden jednak nie zrobił na mnie tak dużego wrażenia jak ten - mimo że nie ma tutaj żadnego zrozumiałego dźwięku (mamy jakiś dialekt tych rycerzy oraz ryk syreny), to emocji jest tyle, że można je wyciągać za pomocą kilkunastu wiader. W przypadku syreny czujemy gniew, smutek, rozczarowanie, czystą furię, która przez krótką chwilę walczy z miłością. Zjawiskowa istota szybko odrzuciła współczucie, choć widać było do samego końca, że nie robi tego z uśmiechem na twarzy lub poczuciem satysfakcji. Z kolei jej wybranek, szybko pokazał swoje prawdziwe oblicze, jak przystało na człowieka. Niestety tak to z nami jest, że większość ludzi traci rozum, gdy tylko zobaczą gigantyczny majątek, przepiękną kobietę (lub mężczyznę) lub coś o porównywalnej wartości. Jego chciwość, dwulicowość i bezwzględność, były odczuwalne tak, jak emocje lub uderzenia w "One Piece", czy DBZ. Przed skończeniem tego tekstu, obejrzałem filmik NrGeeka na temat, jak mógł wyglądać proces tworzenia tego filmu (film jest dostępny na kanale Granaliza, jak komuś zależy. Jest on tylko w języku polskim, info dla zagranicznych czytelników.). Nie zachwiało to moją opinią. Owszem, zostałem trochę oszukany sprytnymi sztuczkami, ale na tym polega magia kina. Człowiek idąc do kina, musi się liczyć, że twórcy go trochę oszukają - w jakimś stopniu lub w jakiejś sferze. Poza tym, czy to jest ważne, jeśli efekt końcowy jest piękny, a jego realizacja była sprytna i kreatywna? Jak dla mnie, odcinek 10/10 - tak jak mówiłem w zakończeniu, nie chcę oceniać wszystkich odcinków, ale w tym przypadku robię wyjątek. Klaskałem na końcu za pomysłowość i wysoki poziom wykonania. W przypadku o zombie również klaskałem, ale tam zostałem zaskoczony zajebistą puentą pod koniec odcinka. W przypadku epizodu Finchera, byłem zachwycony reżyserią i scenariuszem. "Jibaro" nie był od niego lepszy w tej materii, ale połączył najlepsze rzeczy w "Love, Death and Robots" i to na bardzo wysokim poziomie. Nie dziwię się, że zostawili go na sam koniec, jest najmocniejszy.
Reasumując, polecam każdemu. Świetna rozrywka zarówno dla duszy, jak i ciała. Antologia trzyma poziom pod każdym względem - muzyki, animacji, narracji, scenariusza. Osobiście polecam byście nie oglądali chronologicznie, tylko zaczęli od tych odcinków, których opisy najmocniej Was zaintrygowały. Oceny nie będzie, bo musiałbym oceniać każdy epizod osobno, a tego mi się nie chce, bo jak bym ich nie dał, to i tak nie będę nimi usatysfakcjonowany i na pewno zmienię zdanie (chociażby w minimalnym stopniu). Na pewno jednak warto zapłacić Netflixowi za miesięczny abonament, by obejrzeć to dzieło. Jest tego warte.

Diría que mi episodio favorito fue el tercero de esta temporada, Eso sí hay muchos episodios que están plenamente enfocados al aspecto de la comedia, y creo que la verdad estos episodios son los que a veces pueden resultar mucho más efectivos a la hora de dar el mensaje que quieren transmitir al público, hay otros que están sobrecargados de ciencia ficción tanto así que pudiera decir que casi que puede ser tramas aparte casi que perfecto para una miniserie una película propia como ya había dicho.
