Pacific Rim: Uprising is the continuation of Pacific Rim: Uprising (2013). Like the first movie, it has tons of explosive violence and action/fantasy on a large scale. The giants are shot and hit with fists and various weapons, leading to massive destruction and deaths off the screen. There are also some spooky images, related to extraterrestrials, some blood and fights / blows. Two men are in love with the same woman; she kisses both of them on the cheek, but nothing else comes from that.

The language includes a handful of words like "s--t," "ass," "bastard," "b--ch, etc. An adult character drinks a couple of times.

Guillermo del Toro did not direct this as the original did (he was a producer this time), but he is still surprisingly funny, with some very nice and quite positive characters, diverse that work together as a team. John Coyega and Scott Eastwood, co-star.

The film is directed by Steven S. DeKnight who debuts for the big screen after having won several titles of success in television. He has directed several episodes for "Ángel" (2003), "Smallville" (2005), "Dollhouse" (2009) and the pilot episode "Daredevil" (2015). In addition, he has also written scripts for the aforementioned series and others such as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (2003). We also know that Guillermo del Toro is still involved as a producer.

SYNOPSIS

| - | A near future. After the first invasion that humanity suffered, the struggle is not over yet. The planet is again besieged by the Kaiju, a race of colossal aliens that emerge from an interdimensional portal, with the objective of destroying the human race. Faced with this new threat for which humans are not prepared, the Jaegers, giant war robots piloted by two people to cope with the immense neural load that involves manipulating them, are no longer up to what is coming. It will be then when the survivors of the first invasion, in addition to new characters as the son of Pentecost, will have to devise the way to surprise the enormous enemy, betting on new defensive and attack strategies. With the Earth in ruins and trying to rebuild, this new battle can be decisive for the future.
